A bit like pirates wearing eyepatches to always have one eye adapted to the dark, so they don't have to wait to get their vision back in the dark when going below deck.

Honestly, this make up makes for a great take on an Alien. It looks so scary and cool, though the thumbnail did literally kinda scare me, I wasn't sure if I should watch this for sleep, but here it goes. 😊
God damn my brain looking for the reasons behind things. This is actually a very good Alien concept. The dark around the eyes (I know it's makeup) could easily be natural pigmentation. As well as the black sclera. Specifically evolved for a species from a planet of a low light star. Black absorbs light. So it'd be easy way to funnel what little light there is direct into the eyes for better vision. This would explain why the skin and hair are so pale. And why the room has lighting that would count as UV almost on the spectrum. This species just doesn't need much light to see as you'd think if you were probing or experimenting on something you'd want to be able to see the results. I know this ramble was incredibly geeky, but my brain does this weird over analysing at times. I loved the ASMR obviously too :3
