I love this story so much! As a former nurse at a convalescent home, I love how the residents of this facility are getting some much needed one on one conversation with this sweet young reader! Both sides benefit so much, and I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if she grows up and decides to choose nursing as her vocation. I wish there was a way to provide more young readers with this opportunity! I now care for my elderly neighbor a few days a week, and our reading time is one of her favorite parts of our day. Many children don’t grow up near grandparents or maybe don’t have them at all, and I fear they may develop the attitude that older people are scary or have nothing to offer. Similarly, so many older people in facilities don’t get many visitors and would love more personal contact. This youngster has found herself a situation that benefits everyone! Kudos to her Mom for encouraging these experiences for her darling daughter. I hope she keeps it up for a long, long time. 😄
Mr. Hupert, you've done it again. 😊 Great story!
Love this put down the Nintendo Switch read and play outside!!
As a father, this is so precious and God given. I love how the residents help and welcome her reading. Outstanding for mom to support her baby reading. 😊
How amazingly sweet🎉❤🎉
She is the best!!! ❤❤❤
I'm so glad to hear your voice again Boyd...it's soothing and easy to listen to...thank you for getting better and returning to us
Thank you for sharing this sweet young girl showing these elderly people that she cares and how much they enjoy being together!
I think it’s a disgrace that they are slowly taking things away from kids that they really need. We let them use computers too much!
Studies have found that being lonely can be as negative for ones health as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. Dementia is at the top of the list. People need connection with others. The local senior center had a whole news letter about it. That little girl is doing wonders for those elders more than she realizes.
What a great idea.
Thank you so much Maggie. You are doing great.
❤Needed good news tonight, thank you
