    good looking garden for sure. Its looks real dry where you are we are much wetter each araes have there advantages. Mine is i never have to water the garden but the weeds up here drive us nuts. We must remove all the roots from the soil or they come right back. I wished i could use a hoe like that but chopping the roots just spreds them . We use claws and hand weeders and put the weeds in a bucket to dry out

    I’m so glad to hear your opinion on the back to Eden. My thoughts exactly! Yes sir those termites and hated fire ants make for a miserable ordeal. Love me some perslane🥰. I learned to sharpen a hoe as a little girl on my pawpaws farm. I remember that worn down hoe from years of use and sharpening. What I would give to have that precious hoe in my hands today. Great video friend. God bless y’all richly❤️

    We do the same thing, pull those weeds and toss them in the middle to dry out. I figure sooner or later I will get most of those weed seeds to germinate. Garden is looking great Duke.

    G,day mate , sharp hoe is the key hey . My Father grew 80 acres of beans every year for the factory, as well as for the market , we scarified with a tractor but done a awful lot of hoeing especially in the hand picked beans for the market , we carried a file in the back pocket and kept our hoes sharp . Your garden looks great there man , hope your having a nice weekend. God bless you and your Brother

    The garden is looking great Duke. Purslane is pretty much the only weed I have growing around my garden. I pull the others that aren't usefull. I need to expand my garden by a lot next season.

    Man, it sure looks dry there. I wish some of this rain we've been getting here would slip down there to you folks. We've got to mow grass every week here. We got about 3 inches in the past 3 days here. I've prayed for the Lord to spread it around a little. Hang in there Duke.

    That actually looks so much easier than it sounds at first. Thanks for showing me this! Would you say it is easier to do when the soil is dry or wet? Does it matter? Which do you prefer?

    • @RuffCut
      @RuffCut  2 года назад +2

      if the soil is damp is good too but you cant work the ground when its wet..you know its just a mess then

    Great way to to weeding there eh! Looks like would save the back... second time I've heard u guys down south can't do the back to eden method (deep south homestead) cause of ants to bad here in Southeast Canada have to deal with slugs early season once plants are mature no issues...
    Thanks for sharing

    I tried Black Plastic one year in my 40 x 60 to keep the weeds down. Planted thru holes in the plastic. Big, big mistake. Held moisture in and didn't allow air on the soil and the soil rotted. In the heat of the summer it killed everything because of the Black plastic absorbing the heat. It attracted and held Fire ants too. Took nearly two seasons to get over that mistake.
