good looking garden for sure. Its looks real dry where you are we are much wetter each araes have there advantages. Mine is i never have to water the garden but the weeds up here drive us nuts. We must remove all the roots from the soil or they come right back. I wished i could use a hoe like that but chopping the roots just spreds them . We use claws and hand weeders and put the weeds in a bucket to dry out
Good work and excellent tips Homesteader.... Why do I feel like a little boy that wants to follow you around and learn I'm 62 LOL. Always ready to sit down and watch your videos 😉
I’m so glad to hear your opinion on the back to Eden. My thoughts exactly! Yes sir those termites and hated fire ants make for a miserable ordeal. Love me some perslane🥰. I learned to sharpen a hoe as a little girl on my pawpaws farm. I remember that worn down hoe from years of use and sharpening. What I would give to have that precious hoe in my hands today. Great video friend. God bless y’all richly❤️
good memories....people don't think like us....every time I'm at a auction or garage sale and I see the old hand tools it makes me think....Richly blessed Sure and truly Thank you
Howdy Brother Duke- done me a big bunch of that when we had the other garden. We’re needing rain mighty bad up here. County is under a burn ban now. Temperatures up to 107 yesterday and the heat index was 114. Bout time for a popsicle lol. Take care and Lord watch over y’all and bless y’all
a popsickle lol You better have one under the a/c lol Its been hot here too. My wife told me to get a job and I asked her if she been outside lately lol Take care of yourself Bro. Paul
We do the same thing, pull those weeds and toss them in the middle to dry out. I figure sooner or later I will get most of those weed seeds to germinate. Garden is looking great Duke.
G,day mate , sharp hoe is the key hey . My Father grew 80 acres of beans every year for the factory, as well as for the market , we scarified with a tractor but done a awful lot of hoeing especially in the hand picked beans for the market , we carried a file in the back pocket and kept our hoes sharp . Your garden looks great there man , hope your having a nice weekend. God bless you and your Brother
The garden is looking great Duke. Purslane is pretty much the only weed I have growing around my garden. I pull the others that aren't usefull. I need to expand my garden by a lot next season.
God looks great Duke. You do an amazing job. Great information on weeding. And clearing with the hole is great. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. God bless 🙏 stay safe hugs ❤️
i appreciate your honest real experience !! i tried no tillage type of gardening before. this year i hoed up everything around my plants and they are thriving in the heat going on 2 weeks with no water
Man, it sure looks dry there. I wish some of this rain we've been getting here would slip down there to you folks. We've got to mow grass every week here. We got about 3 inches in the past 3 days here. I've prayed for the Lord to spread it around a little. Hang in there Duke.
yes Sir....Thanks for the prayers...it was 107 here yesterday...I been hiding in the afternoon...got enough rain to settle the dust...appreciate you Steve
That actually looks so much easier than it sounds at first. Thanks for showing me this! Would you say it is easier to do when the soil is dry or wet? Does it matter? Which do you prefer?
Great way to to weeding there eh! Looks like would save the back... second time I've heard u guys down south can't do the back to eden method (deep south homestead) cause of ants to bad here in Southeast Canada have to deal with slugs early season once plants are mature no issues... Thanks for sharing
Tried working from the center decking a old crooked hay wagon. (As you suggested when you put the loft floor in your cabin) It worked great and looks pretty straight. Thanks for the good info.
@@RuffCut Im pretty sure they burned the first year. I did move them the second year and I set up irrigation so Im not sure what happened. My mators did good tho. I had mators runnin out my ears, lol.
I tried Black Plastic one year in my 40 x 60 to keep the weeds down. Planted thru holes in the plastic. Big, big mistake. Held moisture in and didn't allow air on the soil and the soil rotted. In the heat of the summer it killed everything because of the Black plastic absorbing the heat. It attracted and held Fire ants too. Took nearly two seasons to get over that mistake.
I have A lot of people ask me how I keep my garden weed and grass free. I tell them I use great new invention, it works unbelievably well. They always ask what is it. I reply, it's called a hoe.

Have a good week ❤️🔥🙏🏻🤟🏻
That is an epic garden! I never had a problem with weeds but keeping some plants alive was a problem. Two years in a row my cucumbers died.
Thanks Robert...try and plant cucumbers in another spot?

Hey Thanks for sharing your experience Karl
greetings from Indonesia
Thank you for the info! God bless
Thank you for the blessing!
I've been using mine to make the trenches for the seeds 😅
I'm great at growing weeds! Have hand pull those babies fun lol
If you have any extra time I have a lot of weeds in my garden lol 😂
a lil short on "time" :)
I have A lot of people ask me how I keep my garden weed and grass free. I tell them I use great new invention, it works unbelievably well. They always ask what is it. I reply, it's called a hoe.
they're handy allright
Use them and then tell them to get lost.
You left yourself open for that one and I couldn't resist.
I would lose this one but then would have to pull weeds by hand
@@RuffCut 🤣🤣🤣
True.
I'm 6 foot plus... I'm hunting for a longer handle for my garden tools to save my back.
I know what you're screamin'
@@RuffCut 😆
I've been looking for a "HOE" all my life. Where can I get one
you can get one at home depot :)
