  • Seated between Spain and France, high in the Pyrénées mountains, Vallnord (Andorra) hosted the 6th round of XC World Cup.
Several of our riders caught a cold during the two World Cup weeks, and the biggest challenge has been to adapt their preparation and race to their status, also ensuring that racing was safe for their health. Adaptation was again a keyword during the race, if we consider the heat, dust and rarified oxygen air brought by the 2000 meters elevation of the track.
Sebastian Fini and Malene Degn finished the short track race with a solid 11th and 12th position respectively, which provided them a second row for the XCO start line.
On sunday, Luca Martin started the day with an incredible 2nd position in the U23 race, his first ever World Cup podium! In women category, Janika Loiv almost got to the podium but a small mistake in the last part of the track made her finish in a still excellent 6th position. Sebastian Fini was 11th, Pierre de Froidmont finished in 16th position and Malene Degn was also inside the top 20. Erik Haegstad was still recovering from the cold and finished in 59th position.
