One of my favorite moments is when JF tells about a story that happened in I believe 2004; he was stopped at a stoplight on the road, a car pulls up next to him that has a New Jersey license plate that reads “TMBG” on it. So John starts knocking on the window and tries to say hi. Turns out it’s just an old lady that hadn’t heard of They Might Be Giants before (license plate was just a coincidence) and then she screamed out of fear and stomped on the gas
The beauty of being overweight. If you have more fat in your face, then when you begin to naturally lose it (which causes the sunken, wrinkled appearance associated with age,) it's not as obvious, and you look younger.
My favorite TMBG moment has to be that whole live performance of Till My Head Falls Off where Flans holds his guitar right up the the vocal mic, walks across the set to go turn the amp way up in the middle of the song, and breaks all his guitar strings off at the end, all completely deadpan
I KNOW WHICH ONE UR TALKING ABOUT i love that one a lot just because of how 90s the set + outfits were. it was also televised which makes it extra funny
I love the whole band’s energy in that video. It kinda spirals but not into complete unorganized chaos - just it’s a very high energy performance and I love the way they sound in it and the way Linnell smiles and sings in that recording haha
One of my favorite TMBG moments is in the "You Probably Get That a Lot" music video when John just stops singing and looks at everyone else jamming out with a slight judgemental look on his face.
I just saw them in concert recently and my favorite thing is their banter during the show it’s amazing, I miss them so much so I’m watching these videos for my happiness
Just saw them on Friday, and one of the highlights was Flansberg talking up this new pedal he got for his guitar where it plays like a synth. He went on for like 2 minutes about how the band would play quiet and he would play over it with the new guitar synth sound, and how his mom loved it. Then the song they played was Minimum Wage, which is like 20 seconds long and has Flans playing like 2 notes lol.
The "Our record is better" section feels like those bits from Whose Line is it Anyway where Colin and Ryan used to introduce a record collection. (And no, I can't work out which one is which)
..."as you turn around to look he's gone behind you on his face he's wearing your confused expression, where your eyes don't go." This line explains life perfectly!
I've always found the proposition to lie at a dubious level of certainty. They might be giants, but there's nothing that accounts for the apparent lack of gigantism.
TBH i never figured it out myself. i know the description implies he’s silencing his phone but he’s probably not because he does that all the time, more than once per show. i have no idea what he’s doing.
You should have shown the one from the computer assistant design song intro where Flansburgh is playing this videogame (I don’t know the exact title of it) where his stats end up in winning 5000-6000 warlock skull power rings
My favorite they might be Giants moment was when singing Heartattack JF started flirting with my Friend's dad and gave them one of the signed copies of book
I always wonder if rock gyro trip is referencing that the food gyro (which is pronounced similar to hero) is spelled the same as gyro (as in gyroscope) or if it's some other thing
What song is Linnell introducing in the second clip where he says the idea of this song where a bird or a bee annoys another nearby creature is completely messed up and can only be explained while singing it
his dad’s name was ZENOS??? How can you name your son John when your name is Zenos 😭😭😭😭 I would’ve named him something like…Jupiter. Or Mars. Or something like that
They're both kinda goofy alt duos that were signed to Elektra, had a fluke pop hit on their third album, have massive cult followings and experiment a lot stylistically. But yeah, they give off very different vibes. They're both great though!
update: i was just sent the link to the vibe report video. it’s now in the playlist 👍
“It’s completely fucked up and it can only be explained in song!” Is þe perfect way to discribe tmbg

i love that one but it also gives me second-hand embarrassment. how mortifying that must’ve been for both parties
IM SORRY BUT THATS SO FUNNY IM CRYING
HE TOLD THIS STORY AT THE CONCERT IN CHARLESTON AND I COULDNT STOP LAUGHING
Do you by any chance have the link for that?
@@Sigma_Nuts Sorry just seeing this now but v=BuqU8KU8JMs
i love how john has always been so amused by john
This is true both ways I love when they make each other giggle
The way flansburgh consistently looks 15-20 years younger than he is continues to blow my mind
He has aged so gracefully that it's unreal. Love his silver hair + whiskers
The beauty of being overweight. If you have more fat in your face, then when you begin to naturally lose it (which causes the sunken, wrinkled appearance associated with age,) it's not as obvious, and you look younger.
5 minutes and 24 seconds of me smiling at my screen like an absolute idiot in love
Also JL's hair at 4:50?! Whaaaat? Never seen it that long, always wanted to... really great work here OP. Thanks!

When Flans hit you with that wo wo wow wow 🤩 😍 😋
For the life of me, I can't understand why this band isn't more popular than they are.
You have to "get them"
Ikr!
Feels like they would be at Weezer levels of recognition. Its surprising they aren't
My favorite TMBG moment has to be that whole live performance of Till My Head Falls Off where Flans holds his guitar right up the the vocal mic, walks across the set to go turn the amp way up in the middle of the song, and breaks all his guitar strings off at the end, all completely deadpan

Is that the one that the Reno 911 actors intro’d? :O

Every 60 seconds, a wooden floor is hit with a big stick many times by a guy named John.
I just saw them in concert recently and my favorite thing is their banter during the show it’s amazing, I miss them so much so I’m watching these videos for my happiness
1:49 the footage quality makes me scared of john linnell.
he’s going to bite the interviewers fingers off any second.
Turns out 15th generation VHS tapes turn Linell into Lurch.

Man I didn't even know there was a tmbg fanbase this is amazing-
This fandom is my safe space
same!!!

they’re just two colins
2:26 my brain instantly went "There's a girl with a crown and a scepter"
..."as you turn around to look he's gone behind you on his face he's wearing your confused expression, where your eyes don't go."
This line explains life perfectly!
0:06 I've noticed that Linnell does this a lot when he's not playing an instrument. I find it both endearing and slightly strange.
His hands crave the äccördion
Nice to see the two madlads going strong today, they're really something else!
god I have so many questions after watching this
10/10 video, they might be giants is the band ever
audibly laughed throughout the whole thing. nice job cutting scene at just the right time
This put such a huuuuuge smile on my face, god damn I love these boys. THANK YOU for bringing this A* incredible compilation into my life
That Flood promotional video felt like a Whose Line is it Anyway sketch. I mean that in the best way possible.
My exact response to when someone asks me… “so how’s life treating ya?” 4:04
4:02 AAAAAAAAAAAA
My fav TMBG moment
Why does Flans in 2:26 look like Tony Stark after retirement
i cant unsee this what have you done oh god
great compilation. every time i watch the puppet head video i think it's pee coming out of the tea cup, but i definitely know it's not that
TBF i used to think it was spaghetti. logically i know it’s tea but it still looks like spaghetti when the quality’s not great
I've always found the proposition to lie at a dubious level of certainty. They might be giants, but there's nothing that accounts for the apparent lack of gigantism.
OMG you are doing the lords work
i agree
i agree, i agreeeeee! (look me over, i'm the cap'm...)
i come back to this video at least twice a week
I cannot express how happy as fuck I am
one of the most important videos I've seen in a while
5:20 it took me a second to realize what happened there LMAO
TBH i never figured it out myself. i know the description implies he’s silencing his phone but he’s probably not because he does that all the time, more than once per show. i have no idea what he’s doing.
why does jl looks like he can be jermas dad 😭
I love This Could Be Huge
1:20 me listing off every reason why i shouldnt get off the bus
So not only are they insanely talented and creative, they're hilarious too? Man, I love John and John of they might be giants
Thank you. Things like this make it more bearable to do the dumb things I gotta do in life.

Amazing vibe report
this video is so good thank you so much ill watch ituntil i die then more
i love they might be giants
4:01 me waking up to the eas alert:
reminder that he plays the character "Computer" from Xavier Renegade Angel
You should've renamed the 0:10 part "linnell says the f word"
Finally some fucking good content
incredible video thankyou
1 hour loop of bouncy Linnell when????
Absolute masterpiece of a video
dig 'em
I always wonder if rock gyro trip is referencing that the food gyro (which is pronounced similar to hero) is spelled the same as gyro (as in gyroscope) or if it's some other thing
Request: If Please Pass the Milk wasn’t a fingertips track
Could also have included the whole performance of Birdhouse from the Tonight Show.
What song is Linnell introducing in the second clip where he says the idea of this song where a bird or a bee annoys another nearby creature is completely messed up and can only be explained while singing it
The Bee Of the Bird Of the Moth
I don't know if I've ever seen/noticed what's going on in that first clip!!
Incredible video
God thanks for making thiss
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Rock Gyro lol
is that henchman 24 in the brooklyn clip?
Did John Linnell’s late dad Zenos actually write the Roy G Biv song or did he just make that up
his dad’s name was ZENOS???
How can you name your son John when your name is Zenos 😭😭😭😭 I would’ve named him something like…Jupiter. Or Mars. Or something like that

Why do they get compared to Ween? I see zero similarities.
They're both kinda goofy alt duos that were signed to Elektra, had a fluke pop hit on their third album, have massive cult followings and experiment a lot stylistically. But yeah, they give off very different vibes. They're both great though!
@Get Hype Gavin They did? Damn, I didn't know that.
