Just a reminder: This is a FIRST HOT REACTION based on personal preferences and my opinion only! You guys know I am always honest & don't embellish my reactions. And it doesn't mean I seek people to agree with me, this is just my own opinion only and to each their own of course! :) Love the girls & their hard work so much and I am so so proud of them! 💚
The tiny/high pitched voice is Dance for me Wallflower, I love the song how it starts slow, opens up with prechorus then the beat just kicks into a dance type song, it follows the lyrics of getting someone to come dance with them. The rap did seem a bit off compared to the tone of the rest of the song, I liked Chae's followup singing sorta rap part though.
Wallflower and Crazy Stupid Love is so good, it's god tier, up there on my favorite twice song list🔥 It's really good. My rank in this album: 1.Wallflower and Crazy Stupid Love 2 Blame It On Me, Set Me Free, and Moonlight Sunrise 3. Got The Thrill and Set Me Free english ver.
This album appeal to the western that's why it is different from a usual kpop twice album. Set me free for me is my favourite from this ready to be EP. Also please react to the new twice idol human theater 😊tnx
We didn't match at all this time, interesting, I tend to agree with you😆 I really liked Blame it on me from the first listen, Wallflower and Crazy stupid love is close second. The thing you were trying to explain I would describe as " hit me on a personal level", these three are definitely did it. I also had this felling of familiarity while listen to Wallflower, but it didn't throw me off. Got the thrills is my less favourite from EP, but it's still a good song. I like title a lot, more than TTT. Can't tell which I like more Between1&2 or Ready to be, but second one left stronger first impression. If not count pre-release and both versions of title, people name one of 4 b-sides as their favourite quite equally on my tl, which I guess is good for the album, everyone found something they like. All in all, it's a new sound, but it's still undeniably sounds like Twice for me and I like it.
Yeah this ep for me at first listen didn't catch my attention cause it wasn't my taste of music but eversince then I can't stop listening to this ep all the song grew on me and I love all the song now
It's cool. Well you have to understand they are going for the western market. I love the sound. I mean they have been in the united States for the past week promoting hard here.
I agree with what you said This whole album is too western except SET ME FREE There are even two light pieces that are a bit like bel canto groups Of course. Through these songs, I know that their singing skills have been improving. But as a Korean album, it is a very strange choice This makes me wonder if JYPE has forgotten their role as a group after their success in the US. This will not be good for TWICE
yeah, the album is great but i feel it so different from a normal twice album, these song r too western, it's didnt gave me the vibe when i first listened to B1&2 or others album, and tbh i only vibe hard w Crazy stupid love, i love it sooooo much
The whole point of this mini-album is to step into a more mature sound that appeals to the western market, which is why they're promoting hard in the states. There is nothing wrong with them stepping their foot into it and exploring their music. This is such a breath of fresh air to their music and it shows they're developing as artists and not just sticking to the loud cute kpop songs that they're known for. The best part of it all is that even in this newer concept they are SLAYING. I think people need to think about how long they've been in this industry and dominating and how they're yearning to grow into bigger shoes. They can always go back into the sound that u guys talk about but experimenting and moving into different sounds is so hard and clearly in this case so rewarding. So proud of them.
@@mrdjokie I wonder if we are talking about completely different things? We're not denying the quality of the album 1. They are a Korean group. The main music is kpop style. What we say is too western. It refers to a completely western style. It is not kpop that incorporates western style. The fusion of western style into kpop is their usual song What they do. This is the main characteristic of all Korean groups. Why do fans listen to kpop? So this bside song lost the main characteristics of their group. (Not that the song is not good) 2. This album is a Korean album. His main market should be South Korea. Although he has included an American single. JYPE's strategy has always been to produce music that fits the market so they have a japanese album, american single, and korean album This is in consideration of different markets. The mainstream music they listen to is different. But they will still use kpop as the main theme So. putting a lot of completely western songs in a korean album. will lose the general audience. because it's not their orientation (not that the songs are bad. Of course the fans will still love it) 3. The most important thing to expand the market is to maintain the original market JYPE should have learned a lesson from Wonder Girl Abandoning the Korean market entirely is an unwise option And this album gives me that feeling. They have more than two years left in their contracts. After that, they need to develop independently. Then their most important markets are still Japan and South Korea. This is how to operate a Korean album in order to open up the US market. I personally don't think it's a good option
Your points are valid and I get you. However this is an 8 year old group that has dominated the kpop scene and reaped its rewards. They need to step out of this to gain more popularity, success and overall development as artists. Sticking to SK or Japan alone, which are TINY markets in comparison to USA, wont do them any good. Especially with how their popularity have decreased over time (even with such high quality) by just sticking to these markets because theyre an older group and there is significant competition. This is exactly what BTS has done to get where they are. Like you said kpop is an amalgamation of a lot of genres and I dont think they deviated too far except they incorporated a lot of 90s western styles with minimal korean influence. Personally I think this was smart of them to do. Their goal for this mini-album is to get comfortable with the western tone and they did so gracefully. They have already mastered the korean tone and now once they master the western tone over time, my hope is that they'll infuse both of them in upcoming albums providing great content for their traditional kpop fans and their newer western fans. This also means JYP shouldn't neglect their traditional sound over time. This is the ideal scenario but is very hard to implement and dedicating a mini-album to it is therefore a great idea. Because if they did this out of nowhere they could miss on the western tone not being masters of it and could lead to a bad album. Overall their purpose is to grow as artists and get more fans and sitting in these markets all cozy and comfy just leads to uninspired music. This is adventurous and tough and this makes their journey even more exciting and respectable. I hope you understand.

I mean this album lean more to appeal for western market. so your take is valid.
I feel like everyone was showing off their vocals this comeback seems like every member had at least one moment where they got a stand out part.

I may be biased. But Wallflower, I dig it.
