While the retracting storage of the shade is a great idea, the flaws IMO is mounting to the glass, might hinder view a bit and looks hideous from outside also the gap around the mirror not letting it sit flush against the glass, that lets some sun/ heat to get in.

This is actually very sleek. You don't think about the brackets or the shade body that sits roughly in front of the side pillar. Much easier for frequent users to operate than spring or multi-piece shades.

Mm... this was super easy to install and I didn’t even both with marking where the rackets were put, I was just very steady and slow when placing them with the adhesive side. And as far as the “blind spot” issue goes, the cover itself is removable...so, problem solved. I don’t mind the brackets being on my windshield. The ease of protecting the inside of my car from the Nevada sun is more important than those small brackets. Plus, I can remove them whenever I need to

I bought my car from someone and this shade came with the car they only owned it for about a year and a half so I believe the shade was about that old. After owning it for a year, the strings that hold the shade together, top and bottom have broken off (on their own not sure what happened) which completely effects it’s whole purpose I’m a little bummed because I was hoping for the shade to last me quite a while, it’s a really good shade I just wish it held up longer. I might try and add my own strings on it and fix it myself or just buy a new one but without the strings it doesn’t stay up at all or close easily😕

Hello, I installed mine last year and love it, however, I would like to move it to my new vehicle. How do I remove the adhesives from the windshield? Thanks

I'm Fred from Kenya. I'm impressed by the shade. I enquired and was informed that you sell it in USA only. I still believe this product has a huge market here in Kenya. I need 2 pieces. How can I get them?

Can you place this all the way to the edge of the window or will it not reach at to hook up that it needs a gap?

Just wondering why it says to go around the front of the mirror?

This is the smoothest operation for the pleating. You'll notice in the video that it does not effect light blockage.

If you have a dash camera, GPS or phone mounted to the windshield it creates an issue for the shade. Or if you have a visor mounted LED lightbar like my Crown Vic does, then it makes it harder to go in front of the mirror.

I agree with the comment that these can increase our chance of not seeing something or a padestrian while driving because of the increase of thickness it gives to the windshield pillars.
I owned this for many years on my ranger I had 14 years and the pillar thickness was a slight disadvantage. The quality was good but after many years the Velcro lost its holding power and would not always hold the shades shut and no the Velcro was not clogged with lint. These retractable shades are great though compared to removable roll up shades etc.
I am going to try the other company's "original" shades that are one big blind instead of two, uses hooks instead of Velcro and since it stores open on the passenger side that should be an improvement to open visibility obstruction although the two piece design seems to work better with enveloping the rear view mirror...I am going to be sure to measure my windshield height as others recommend to make sure I'll be satisfied with the fit - size product their data base recommends for my vehicle.
Btw I see that the one piece original design company lists shades that are a few inches shorter for my two vehicles compared to the eclipse two piece shades. This appears to be because the one piece must be short enough to slip under the rear view mirror where the two piece stops there and the Velcro can work around the rear view mirror post.
Well since the windshield has tinting at the top, the shorter one piece should be alright unless you are looking for max coverage and privacy.
I have discovered another great tool to keep out the sun and give privacy, I purchased some perf vinyl applica for the rear side window and maybe the back. These are black on the inside and white on the outside(unless you print an image on it with a big printer machine).Law enforcement doesn't seem to care like they do with dark window tinting cause they are on many business vehicles as advertising. The black let's you see out but people can't see through the white side because how our eyes ignore black but not white.
Hope my discussion about my experience helps someone out there, pay it forward.

There is no velcro involved ???

BeHisLikeness this video is the the company that sells the one long piece pull shade that hooks on the other side when closed so no Velcro.
The other company that sells the a bit more expensive two piece shades uses Velcro to attach at the middle when closed.
I am buying the two piece for my new vehicle I think they are more durable

Wow, this creates an eyesore for both sides of your windshield. It doesn’t even snug up to the window and light still gets in from the sides and through the top. Sorry, but I would never put this ugly thing on my windshield. You’re better off using the 2-piece method of sunshades where you wrap them up together and put them away. I’m even surprised that a company would make this unsightly shade. No one wants those grippers to show on the sides of their windshield.
