LATEST VERSION 2.0 (11/30/2019) The soundfont has been updated to include a single .SF2 file containing all of the instruments. The individual soundfonts are still available in a side folder.
I'm always delighted when I see soundfonts used in different genres then the origin of the soundfont itself. Have you considered using any Mother soundfonts?
@tatey12 I'm an oddly difficult-to-please individual. I really only make soundfonts of games I have at least a slight interest in. And to be completely honest and fair, Earthbound/Mother never struck my fancy that way.
Really? I beg to differ. The first tune actually sat around on my computer for almost three months now, and has at least three or four different revisions in other soundfonts while I was trying to get a feel for it. I finally decided to complete it with a _new_ soundfont just for the hell of it. That way, I didn't have to compose something new. I'm a lazy piece of shit.
I love rhythm heaven, and i love this soundfont! Your music always keeps me happy iteachvader, keep it up! Do you have any ideas on what your next soundfont will be?
hey, just wanted to say, I just happened to click on this as I was in the middle of some extremely stressful work, and the second tune really helped calm me down some, so, thanks for your great music.
Another soundfont creation? Gosh, I love these distributions. Maybe if I get there with my musical skills, I could give them a whirl! Thank you for the ripping and creation of wondrous sounds.
GLORY IN THE HIGHEST! Thank you so much! I LOVE this series!!! There’s also Rhythm Tengoku for the GBA, and I hope you can rip that soundfont, too, someday.
Alright so I'm sorta new to the channel and mainly went through your backlog of YTPs and YTPMVs but these soundfonts are funky af. My only question is, what exactly is a soundfont? Just a tune using the sounds from a certain game?
No. A soundfont is the collection of instruments used to create the soundtrack for a game. It saves on space as you only need a few instrument samples played back in a sequence to create music. The original Star Fox on the SNES is a great example. There's not nearly enough space on an SNES cartridge to hold an entire soundtrack worth of audio, so composers had to use a limited number of instrument samples to _sequence_ the music.
i literally just spent the past 10 minutes jamming to the first tune its giving me pseudo nostalgia /p also have you thought about making a pokemon black soundfont ?
For NDS, use VGMTrans. Convert to .SF2 and use Polyphone or Viena Soundfont Studio to edit. For SNES, there's a special program I used but I honestly don't remember what it was. I lost it in a computer crash a long time ago, and never bothered looking for it again since I'm not interested in ripping soundfonts from any more SNES games.
I don’t know why, but this for some reason reminds me of the Monsters Inc. GBA ost. Could be the spacing or instruments that sound as more high quality versions of aforementioned ost. (Edit: at least the first composition)
Real bossanova sound on the second track, would you consider splitting them up into two separate tracks? I like using audio in online tabletop gaming and both would work great but for two very different scituations
