    I'm going to do a study for prayer in our small group Bible study. My prayer life has been weak and I want to learn how to pray properly. Many thanks.

    Please Abba my Father, help me discover the „the mystery of prayer in the spirit“ in Jesus‘ name! I need both: the outpouring of your Spirit and Scripture to assist me, me from this hour on, in Jesus’ name! Thank you Abba, my father for hearing and answering swiftly according to your promise!

    ..and Amen to daily God-pleasing prayer from His children. Thank you, Alistair, for the refresher course that I need every day as my prayer life is a poor caricature of true worship to His goodness, grace and mercy...take me Home, LORD, where I will at last see how much I owe.

    Just a heads up another reason you might not be hearing Bible pages turning as some of us have to use our phones so that we can see. I am partially blind and it takes me way too long to use my paper Bible but I can read fast and also find things fast with my phone Bible

    Where was the outcry coming from?

    • @grgustafson1777
      @grgustafson1777 2 года назад

      Hey Ben, as this video is three years old, I don’t think you’ll get a response from Begg or his people. But I might be able to help- once I know which outcry you’re asking about. I looked in the transcript (a fantastic tool btw) but didn’t run across the exact word ‘outcry’ but at the beginning of the sermon, Begg read Genesis 18:20 - where the cry of Sodom and Gomorra is great. Could this be the part of the sermon you asked about?
      Let me know where you’re having trouble and I think I can help you. Prayer is so very important, especially in our time right now. Knowing how to pray is probably as important as knowing WHO to pray to. Anyways Ben, let me know if you still want help. It’s our duty and our privilege to help and encourage one another! Shalom.😊

      @@grgustafson1777 Hello. Thank you for getting in touch. The "outcry" is mentioned in Genesis chapter 18 verse 20 NKJV. "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great..."
      As I understand it only Lot and immediate family saved and didn't think they could or would raise a "great outcry". Just curious that is all if you are too busy don't worry about it. Again Thanks. Ben.

      @@Ben-so4te Hey Ben, you’re right that ‘outcry’ seems a bit much to attribute to one small family. For me, there are two, maybe three ways to look at it: First is that God’s children matter to Him so even one person crying out might be considered an outcry. Second, extra-Biblical texts describe how despicable these cities were to travelers; the citizens did horrific things. Perhaps some of those travelers were God’s children and ‘outcry’ describes their actions. And third, maybe the outcry is described as great because the deeds were abominable.
      We might never know exactly what ‘outcry’ is describing; but we know God heard and responded. That He did that is cause to praise Him! Thanks for responding Ben. Have a great day! Shalom.

    God extended Hezekiah's life in answer to his prayer 2 Kings 20. 1-7. God spared Israel in response to Moses' prayer Exodus 32.11-14. God cancelled his plan to destroy Nineveh when the people repented Jonah 3.10. It is un-scriptural to hold that God has predetermined every detail of people's lives. The truth is that he is flexible in dealing with people in response to their responsiveness to him. That is something he has determined to allow for within his overall purposes. The very Bible passage which was read at the beginning states that God OBSERVES in time what people are doing, and responds in time to their behavior. God did not determine the thoughts and actions of every person before they came into existence. That is a false philosophical notion that is imposed on Bible interpretation, not derived from the Bible.

      @@eaw6590 One of the main reasons someone feels the need 2 deceive, is because they have unchecked fear- people that don't follow God are cowards, cowards live thr life, in hiding, who they really are bc thr low self-esteem tells them thr not enough. Strawman fallacies always fail.
      Your god, beliefs and religion are just as real or false as all of the religions and gods invented since the beginning of human imagination.
      There's nothing more pathetic and mentally traumatizing than fear based mind control (Abrahamism).
      People who don't subscribe to your authoritarian, narcissistic, psychopathic, bloodthirsty monster of a god are a million times more brave than intellectual weaklings like yourself who can't imagine a life without a celestial dictator.

    So is it true? God has predetermined or is it true that his mind could be changed? These things give me great concern. How can you tell thousands upon thousands with conviction if you are wrong? Surely the spirit would warn you of your error right?
