Thank You!!! I like this Idea!!! My only problem is that I do not have that much "surface area" to spot a Dial Indicator upon. However, Watching your Work causes my thinking Processes to flow, and I will be working off the bottom of my rear Tee Slot, with some minor adjustments as needed!
I ~Really~ Appreciate your style of teaching, And Especially that you go back & forth between Inch & Metric with such Ease!

Nice idea, I thought I'd seen all the tool height setting gauges, but apparently not, I might add one of those to my collection thanks for that... Andy

Excelente dispositivo, la única pega que le encuentro, es que el dial queda demasiado precargado, quizá el anillo separador debería ser más alto. Por lejos, el mejor gadget para poner en altura correcta la herramienta del torno que he visto. Gracias.

Sorry, but I have to comment critically...…...once you set those QCTP's you don't move them or else you lose register for the tools set on them. They may still be on tool height but the tools aren't square or in position as set. That is one main reason why you have 2 tool clamp positions for turning and facing. When I set the tools on my QCTP I can remove and replace them and know they are precisely in position as set......only the height ever needs adjusting and with insert tooling that is never. I would also suggest you obtain a few more tool holders and keep your most used tools set in them......leave one empty for odd tool types.

What a waste of time to make that height gauge, you just point it to the center and thats all. I have been doing it for 50 years never had any problems, so its true what they say simple things please simple minds:-)))))))

Statler and Waldorf hablaron. Qué haces cuando tenés una pieza muy larga y no tenés la contrapunta montada en el torno? cómo diablos le das la altura a la herramienta? Me parece un gadget útil.
