Glad you're enjoying them! Have you seen the main doc yet? @t Also I've grouped the short "films" showing David at work painting or drawing in a playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLoKk_SuqeblNQ-1XmlUVqumxF0_M3oBt1
Thanks will check it out. David Hockey is my favorite artist. He was classically trained in London, has his own style, worked consistently, is internationaly acclaimed and he is open to sharing his work.
I'm not sure if I agree with the "classically trained" because his early work embraced modernism, albeit in a rather ironic way, and quite quickly moved away from English Academicism, but certainly drawing has always been central. Otherwise I agree with you, especially his approachability, something which has often been used against him.
Please spread the word! And please recommend streaming the documentary, which is what's supporting the free short films.... And glad you're liking them. Best, Bruno
Yes, certainly David attributes a lot to his early traditional art training at Bradford School of Art, a form of training that was little practised at the RCA and getting dismantled during the 70s when he and Kitaj led a public campaign against the trend - as David put it, "forward to the drawing board!"
No, these are out-takes from the documentary 'A Bigger Picture', using material from my three-plus years of filming that for a variety of reasons didn't find their way into the finished film
Imagine driving down a quiet country lane and coming across the worlds greatest living artist
Always interesting to see painters at work

Coluga Pictures
Are you asking for our estimation of them (is so, marvellous) or how did we arrive here?
@@edwardmclaughlin7935 Thank you anyway for the appreciation but I meant how did you find the website?!
Traditional art and drawing, known as classical in England.
Yes, certainly David attributes a lot to his early traditional art training at Bradford School of Art, a form of training that was little practised at the RCA and getting dismantled during the 70s when he and Kitaj led a public campaign against the trend - as David put it, "forward to the drawing board!"
Are these mini clips not the doco itself?
