I'll save you guys the trouble, if you see Boron anywhere the stick is gonna break quickly as most bauer sticks too. CCM and Sherwood IMO make the best sticks currently. True being last.
This quite literally is the second boron stick ever. You’re acting like you have multiple sticks to base your data off of. I’ve heard the only other boron stick “the agent” has a bad wrap for durability but I own one and it’s been good.
@@meika2789 that’s the only thing that’s been preventing me from getting it immediately. I wanted to see how many people were going to have them break super early like the Agent.
I'm interested to see the Proto R vs. Ghost. I prefer Bauer stuff, but Im open to trying CCM, Warrior, True and other brands. I use the discontinued Bauer Supreme line (albeit the later ones that are more mid than high kick), and I seem to like the Bauer Nexus and CCM Jetspeed sticks (I personally prefer mid and hybrid kick sticks), and may get either one when my sticks break. Tried out the Agent and Proto R in the store, and I seem to prefer the Proto R (again, mid-kick guy). I wanna try out the Ghost as well, since I've heard a lot of great things about it.
Even using the word "Agent' in this review makes me hesitant. My 15 yr old went through 4 Agents in 8 months. He's been using Hyperlite 2 since and no issues.
Curious to see how they hold up compared to the Agent, that puppy has a 2.2 star on pure hockey with 139 reviews... CCM is giving Bauer a run for their money anymore, I used to be Bauer head to toe but now CCM is just making better products. Just picked up an FT Ghost last week and cant wait to try it out this weekend, Lets go!
Hi future me here, I went back and bought a trigger 8 pro, FT ghost just felt like any other ft stick, maybe a slightly faster release. Too soft and blade is really soft, not sure how they say the blade has good feel but I didnt see it, maybe im just that use to a stiff blade but the stick felt dead to me and my shot and all other aspects suffered for my play style because of it.
I'm excited Kinda wanna get both the Proto and Ghost tbh if I could afford them (Not a brand loyalist. Even though most of my stuff is Bauer, I also wanna try some CCM stuff as well. Heard that CCM sticks are better too.)
I wanted to get the FT Ghost but found a great deal on a new Proto R off Facebook Market Place. Still can't get over how much these sticks retail for!!! Couldn't be happier with the Proto R. I don't have the greatest shot, but pucks just sail off this stick. I can't go back to any of my old sticks as they feel like they weigh 3x as much. Looking forward to seeing the Proto R vs. FT Ghost comparison!
Can we get a review and comparing the small stick company’s like no name, epic, hoapa, tovi ect. Love the channel and reviews really helps when buying sticks that are almost half a weeks pay for a lot of people
@@JosephTMeiroseIV not at all. I know a guy who has the new Hyper2Lite and it broke on the first slap shot at a tryout. I know several people with the Agent and almost all of them hate it and the blade is already breaking. The only guy that likes it gets his sticks paid for or 50% off because of his team. So my stick connection has 2 off Brayden Schenns brand new Proto R sticks for sale so I bought them both and hopefully they hold up but people I’ve talked to said it’s like the Agent.
AG5NT held up well for me but the Hyperlite 2 lasted 2 games. So far the Proto R has been amazing and held up and I’ve beat the s hit out of it. I’m curious as to positions played and size of players of those breaking these so fast.
My agent is the only stick I’ve ever broken while playing it broke in the blade I’m just a forward it started with just a slight crack then eventually the whole bottom by the heel was just gone
Update on the Proto R, going on 2 months of heavy use, 5-6 skates per week with 3-4 being games. It is still going strong and shows no signs of breaking down, the flex is still good and other than some cosmetic damage from hacks it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. Love it
Heard that the Proto R is better, but tbh those two have different niches. Get the Agent if you want a low-kick stick. If you want something mid-kick, the Proto R is for you. I'm more partial to mid-kick sticks, so I'm probably getting the Proto-R if I had the chance. Might give the CCM Ghost a try too.
So I have tried using the low kick Bauer hyp2rlite and the release was pretty good but not crazy and I have tried the release in the ag5nt and it was amazing so with the proto r would it have power and quick release?
@@Dusterhockey25 Release won't be as quick, since it's a mid-kick stick, but the shots may be a tad bit more powerful. Maybe get the Agent or Vapor Hyperlite if you crave quick releases, or get the Proto R or Nexus if you want more power. That's my view on it
Which one be better durability Ik they both have terrible but out of the two which one has better durability and which one shoots harder with quick release and which one would be better for me as a offensive defence
@@Dusterhockey25 From what I've heard, the Proto R seems more durable. If you want a quicker release though, the Agent seems to have a quicker release as it is low-kick, though the Proto R does have a relatively quick release for a mid-kick stick. Since you're an offensive defensemen, it seems like You're prolly gonna be taking a lot of powerful long range shots. For that I MIGHT recommend the Proto R In the end though, I would recommend trying them out in a hockey store. Seeing which ones feel better.
The material is very stiff I’m average sized 6’1, 215 lbs or so but I had to go to a 75 flex for this…lasted 4 games so far without issues and your shots do pop and passes are crisp… but I think for me the feel and handling are not as good as some of my other sticks
Not worth hundreds of dollars. I don't care how much "tech" is put into it, it'll break way too quickly. I still use the Aluminum and I still shoot harder than most and players are afraid to stick check or slash me!!!
I’d like to see Battle of the mid kicks, also Battle of the special editions including Agent, Super Novium, Ghost, and new Sherwood Max 🫶🏾
Updated Best mid/hybrid kick stick would be a good vid
