Great inputs. Thank you. I am into developing a plot in Bajaura, Kullu valley, Himachal Pradesh province of India. The economics of rootstock apple gardening appears to game changer.

Thanks Mr. Robinson for your all video presentations. Very detailed information, canopy shape, pruning strategy. Thanks to you, Mr. Parker and Mr. Jon, I started my first high density apple orchard consisting of: Crimson Crisp, Opal, Modi, Kanzi, Pink Lady. I have around 300 apple trees. Wish you all the best, Cris from Romania!

Wise words. Planting density decisions will constantly evolve, with many factors influencing a grower's inputs to the equation. In my case (cider apple growing), one such limiting factor was the availability of available machinery to harvest very narrow row widths. One also had to consider the fact that the end product had a maximum value, limited by contract terms. All these variables dictated the pruning method and expenditure per acre as the orchard matured. The overriding security of a minimum contract price, a long contract (20-30 years) and the fact that all fruit from a named orchard had to be purchased by the cider maker for, what was effectively a generation, influenced many such
    decisions.

This would have been a much more helpful video if it had included some field demonstration footage.
