I seem to learn different ideas from each speaker and ive learned about tools and how to do the basics from everyone else but Jhaddix puts it all together ive had times where i knew what to do but needed a direction to travel and until i got that i would hit analysis paralysis everytime if your new to this and you have a understanding with burpe nmap gobuster netcat metasploit maltego etc etc this guy will put the carts on the ferris wheel for ya
Do you recommend to obtain any certificates i've been studying for the comptiaNetwork+ for 2 months so far but do i really need it to become a hunter , or only the skills matter ?
much of the content covered on that test is useful for bug hunting (I have it) but is much more of a broad look than the particular skills needed for bug hunting. skills =/= knowledge. to be good at bug hunting you need to practice regularly. and nobody cares about certs when you submit a bug as long as your report is generating value for the company
@@andrewferguson6901 I'm very new and I'm wondering what a bug report is, if I find a vulnerability by hacking into something. Would I report the steps I took to hack into it or is the report how you'd solve the bug that you exploited. Or is it both, and also it seems like I'd need to spend 400$ to get Burp Pro but I don't know how to do any of this yet, and I'm not confident that I can, but I can only find out if I first spend that money which seems scary. If I don't spend 400$ I can't learn, but if I do spend 400$ it's money blindly spent, since I haven't learned what my capabilities are.
