kinda long tangent here: wonhee only trained for a few days before getting chosen for r u next? and a month before the show started filming, so they highlighted that a lot on the show. the main critique of the JUDGES was that she always looked lost on stage with her wide eyes and didn't change her facial expressions much. however, she's NEVER been bad at either singing or dancing (except for twerking lol). she didn't have polished technique, but she sang well and danced decently. she was only slow at learning, which meant the other trainees taught her a lot which was given a fair bit of screentime. and because she got a lot of screentime of her being taught by others (and became a threat to their favorite trainees), FOREIGN WATCHERS convinced themselves that she was a "dozen" instead, even when she was one of the better singers on the show. like even now, you go through illit line distribution videos and a lot of comments still think she's completely untalented???? which is crazy. leak/rumor culture was also HUGE in the r u next community. one time wonhee was rumored to be the main vocal of the ssfwl stage and people went BALLISTIC saying the judges were playing favorites for not giving chanelle (of fiftyfifty) the position. timeskip to the actual show and it's revealed chanelle HERSELF volunteered for wonhee to be the main vocal. another time, the judges DID pick her for the main vocal instead of the show's best singer and she got so much flack for it. timeskip again and the performance has zero (0) high notes, wonhee just got the most lines 💀
wonhee is so crazy talented 🫶 people overlook her because of the rigging controversy and thing she didnt deserve to debut. but she truly has beautiful voice, good stage prescene, and is really good at dancing and keeping up with those more skilled. i think theres a clip of wonhee in a dancing challenge where she learned a dance just from watching yunah do it once. shes so talented and doesnt deserve the misdirected hate
Naw I doubt it. I dance professionally for artists and often times we run the routine back to back nonstop to build stamina. That way, when you do it once to film, it’s clean and solid. Very common professionally, these girls just work very hard for it. True Professionals. They most definitely have ran this number over n over w/ no breaks. For sure.
Im Moka biased but you’re right, Wonhee got a lot of shit, people never took into account she had just trained for a few months while the others had been years into the game. I think she really deserved to be selected she carried Illit with her voice through not easy beginnings and has improved a lot. I really think this group has been excellently put together not just for the cute now but for a promising future
Also the amount of growth that Wonhee shows from R U Next to these 8 months since their debut is insane! It's need to be appreciated and it shows still how many growth potential she has in the future

She had vocals and could dance but a lot of people didn't think she was ready at the time because she'd been training for less than a month. Personally I didn't think she was ready and didn't like seeing other contestants with a lot more experience get eliminated. She was RUNext's adorable visual but needed more training. Then Magnetic came out and here I am eating my own words because you'd never be able to tell she was such a rookie. This is what putting in the work looks like and I ❤️ 💙 💜 all of the girls from Illit.

yeah the choreo for this is CRAZY difficult! it must’ve been a headache to learn & clean but they make it look effortless.
