I really enjoyed seeing Les Miserables The Staged Concert at the Gielgud Theatre in London on Saturday 5th October 2019 in the matinee afternoon performance and it was brilliant and I saw it with Alfie Boe, Michael Ball and Matt Lucas and they were amazing
I love the way Michael Ball looks as Javert. The way his character looks in that costume and makeup is exactly what I feel like Javert should look like.
I do hope that Les Miserables The Staged Concert at the Gielgud Theatre in London does do a filmed performance of the show for DVD release from Steam Motion & Sound and Universal for Christmas 2019 fingers crossed
I was lucky enough to see it on Monday evening and it was superb! I think the singing and music was better than when I’ve seen the full production. I also met some of the cast at stage door too and Matt, Michael and Carrie especially were all so lovely and humble too.

I saw it on the 8th October last year and recently at the Sondheim. It’s simply the best ever production. How lucky we are to have Sir Cameron Macintosh and a cast of the best of the best. Matt Lucas....that role was made for you.
Was so fortunate to see this production here in Australia with these performers at our local movie theatre two weeks ago ,,, loved it great singers yes hope it comes out on disk ,,

@@williamfairchild7439 But if they do a recording of the staged concert, who would be in it? JOJ or AB? Because they're both cast to play the role of Jean Valjean.
I hope so, because the whole cast was amazing. I would love a version with John Owen Jones (Alfie Boe is excellent too but I prefer JOJ). Bradley Jaden is probably the best Enjolras I've ever heard, too. Pretty much the entire cast was excellent, I loved Eponine, Marius and the Thenardiers in particular.
I've always wanted to play Eponine, unrequitted love. O used to dress up in my mum's hat and trench coat and sing all her songs, in front of my dad's three door mirror. She's still my dream part to play
The ticket price reflects the high quality production. It is also nearly three hours of the best theatre you could possibly EVER experience. I saw it last year and have been again this December before they were forced to close again. The price I paid this year was more than I have ever paid for a ticket but I didn’t think twice. It was worth every pound.
Well? Gives a whole new meaning of getting some 'stick!!' I hope that I don't get on Alfie's and Michael's 'wick!' I can't hold a 'candle!' To those two!
What about John Owen-Jones? He shares the role of Valjean, he’s brilliant , brings the house down & what he brings to the role is in another league, but he’s not even mentioned! This omission is as disgraceful & disrespectful as it must be hurtful. The theatre is a business in which self promotion takes precedence over fairness & feelings. Thenardiers lyrics in the sewer are equally applicable to show biz “It’s a world where the dog eats the dog, & they kill for the bones in the street” & I would respect those responsible much more if they had some generosity of spirit.
I’ve booked for October as a birthday gift. I don’t live in the Uk so it’ll be a bit of hassle with traveling and booking but totally worth it. I chose to see JOJ because I cannot stand Alfie with his zero emotions and operatic-full-force voice. I’ve seen JOJ and Carrie in Dubai a few years ago and I’m so thrilled to see Carrie plays Fantine. The cherry on the top is Michael Ball - as someone who listens to the 10th anniversary concert religiously; seeing Ball is a dream comes true!
I can’t post the entire link, my reply won’t get approved. Just go to the website and try to search for the staged concert. You’ll find the exact dates for each one of them. Remove the spaces between the words: delfont mackintosh. co. uk

Boe - the best JVJ!
