It would be fun if the future UQM lore would have some epic shit going down between the Orz and the Ariloulaleelay and the new alliance being stuck in the middle, knowing something is going to hit the fan soon and that they'll be in the way.
But there won't. The Arilou are desperately hiding from the Orz because if the Orz successfully *SMELL* them, it's all over for the whole Arilou species.
"This Guy." Not "These Guys" remember as Orz explains each Orz you see is not a separate Orz, but merely a "finger" of Orz projecting into our space. My bet is, each Orz "individual" you see is essentially the warped and mutated body of an androsynth that's essentially serving as a glove for this "finger" of Orz.
A. Ahmou I'm pretty sure they are an implied threat lore wise. Basically a lovecraftian entity that wants to do who knows exactly what with **heavy space**
As a kid, I thought of them as cute friendly goofballs. As an adult that's very cognizant of their sinister motives and nature as an eldritch being that consumes lesser races, I choose to think of them ascute friendly goofballs for the sake of my sanity
The dialog might be confusing and yet kind of understanding what they mean. But when Orz talks about not liking the Arilou, they mean they are frustrated about the Arilou's Skiff fighters keep warping though hyperspace during combat, right? If so, then it's pretty hilarious to think about that.
Did you know that originally you were suppose to mysterious slowly lose crew when traveling (effectively burning like fuel) through Quasispace when you allied with the Orz, but it was cut out?
I can't believe I don't see more people talking about this, but here goes: Orz is an emote. I legit saw people saying this emote as an emote and they had no clue it was used as the name of a race in Star Control 2. The emote roughly means faceplant, or to bow in apology. Well, what does the Orz tell us about it? That it is reaching into our space and it manifests as "many bubbles" but it is actually "fingers". It's almost as if the creature has bent over and is simply reaching into our space with tentacles.
But they come from "Below" unlike the Arilou that come from "Above" so the Orz would more likely be extending their "fingers" upwards like a tree...an evil interdimensional Lovecraftian tree
@@DoomRater yes, I agree with that. I meant the "above" and "below" are anisotropic and are not interchangeable. Still, it's not like they stand on some hypothetical ground and reach to the "heavens", just as you meant.
The Orz are really a very cool race. They're really very friendly and quick to try to prove that they belong. They just want the dimensional residents of the material plane to stay within the boundaries of their reality (happy campers) so that none of the others from outside can join the Orz in this reality. The Androsynth opened a door that let the Orz through, and I suspect the Orz came through as refugees, fleeing from something. Nothing they can do in the game suggest that they were what "took" the Androsynth, they just filled a vacuum left behind by whatever did take the Androsynth. think the Orz is holding the passage the Androsynth opened blocked so nothing else can follow it from "outside" and he is trying to discourage curiosity about the Androsynth to preventi anyone else from opening the same kind of door and letting something even worse through (like the things that hunted or hurt the Orz in its home dimension).
Yup, the Orz are not blocking, they’re reaching out to *campers* through their *fingers*. The Arilou are doing the obstruction, and that’s why the Orz don’t like them

I took apart the mod file for the Or music a while back and noticed that the music is partially constructed using sounds from Scooby Doo! Listen carefully, you'll hear Scooby!
@bonker Breeens when I think of Israel and Jerusalem, I think of the people in it and how Christ died and rose again for even them to come to repentance, if they just believed in Him..
@bonker Breeens Which only goes to prove that false imitators of Christ are indeed insane. Matthew 24: 4-12 says: And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
@bonker Breeens No, the Orz are clearly a reference to the Black Israelites secretly planting bombs to the WTC towers to bring them down, the planes were merely a cover up of the false flag operation orchestrated by the Reptilian Elite. The only reason more people don't know about this is because they keep making more chem trails blinding people from that truth, and also from the fact that there is no God. The fact that you're trying to assert that the Orz are a reference to Zion, is actually very telling and I think that you are trying to spread psychotic Zionist propaganda.
@bonker Breeens That was exactly what I intended, to multiply the amount of crazy. Or was it? I see that you're using double dashes to separate each word, that's a common secret sign for agents of the globalist agents to use discretely to signal others like them that they work for the cause. And part of that agenda is to make sure that Half Life 3 is never confirmed.
"Orz looking for you, and find you. So much joy!!" Are they the "parasites" the Arilou warned us about? If so, wouldn't allowing them to help us just in turn doom humanity?
It's basically confirmed that the Orz *fingers* we see are a different manifestation of the "them" that Burkowski ran afoul of on Androsynth planets. The parrotfish-type Orz *fingers* don't seem to be able to quite recognize humans as the beings they want to *dance* with - they seem to realize that the Captain does not *smell* just as the Arilou intended. If humans hung out with Orz too long, though, it probably would be doom. No doubt the Arilou would try to *jump in front* and deal with he problem, but I for one wouldn't want to count on that.
Poor Androsynth. Created by humans and treated as slaves, they liberate themselves and establish their own world, only to be "recruited" by the Ur-Quan, and not long after wiped out by the Orz.
***** Sorry, I know it's a months late reply, but I feel like I should point something out. The Androsynth were enslaved initially by the Earthlings, I believe that they are in-fact clones, there's some mention of that in-game. They have a fairly good reason to be space-douches. Also, I think the Orz is just one being with the ability to project itself into multiple places at once. It's in the dialogue, as well: "...I am Orz. I am one with many *fingers*. My *fingers* reach through into *heavy space* and you *see* Orz *bubbles*."
***** Not so much a race as they're all projections of one being - they are "fingers" (indicating parts of one) instead of "many bubbles" (individual beings, possibly referring to cells). Orz really should be referred to as it instead of they.
@1acount I just watched From Beyond the other day, between everything seeming almost fish like in that dimension, and everything else IC an't help but think the orz are references to that In their little mechsuits that look like fishtanks but are really dimensional resonance chambers.
Maybe not so great news if the Orz went after them. I don't think it's established what *chasing* and *playing* means in Orzspeak, but it's the Orz we're talking about, so it's probably nothing good.
@Gaiacarra I don't think they can push themselves out. Until now the Arilou always 'got in front of them' they couldn't have 'any fun' they're predative I have no doubt of this, they're so merciless in ship to ship combat, the andross must have resonated access to their dimension and they've capitulated the opportunity, to steal the andross tech and use it to get themselves out into ourspace.
And you have to admit they are pretty cute despite they're actually sociopathic and possibly did not understand or rejected having certain feelings like guilt or remorse.
Now this is a shock. I knew that the Orz music had a sample of Scooby-Doo going "HUH?!". I didn't know that a -guy- was the voice actor... I always thought them very feminine-sounding!
@hartmrolf the thing about singular entities, extensions of a singular onedimensional entity, is uh, they seem to value homogenization of all campers into themselves

But there won't. The Arilou are desperately hiding from the Orz because if the Orz successfully *SMELL* them, it's all over for the whole Arilou species.
MultiCommissar They are not hiding, the Orz know that Arilou exist and hate them
The Arilou *quick babies* do not exist from *below*, they exist from *above*.
The Arilou *quick babies* always keep *jump in front*. This makes Orz *frumple*.
I honestly wonder what these guys did to the Androsynth... I bet it was horrifying for them, the Androsynth that is.
Their theme song is the best IMO. I love the Orz too, although they really are multi-dimensional serial killers
Am I the only one who thaught that the Orz were hostile? I blame the captions around the friendly **words**
A. Ahmou I'm pretty sure they are an implied threat lore wise. Basically a lovecraftian entity that wants to do who knows exactly what with **heavy space**
Extremely happy sisters should correct each other for celebrations... Sounds hot.
I wish I could be more than a *slow time* *walker*, and instead go and *dance* in *pretty space*. Oh, well.
I think it refers to the Arilou "jumping in front" of Orz and blocking it from finding openings that lead from its space to ours.
Jesus, if you start focusing on the lower tones it goes crazy
The thing I miss most about the Ur Quan Masters remix music is the Scooby sample for the Orz
Did you know that originally you were suppose to mysterious slowly lose crew when traveling (effectively burning like fuel) through Quasispace when you allied with the Orz, but it was cut out?
It took me way too long to realise the thing in the background is another Orz facing backwards rather than some kind of weird plant.
the **vision bubbles** are not understand orz **fingers.**
I can't believe I don't see more people talking about this, but here goes:
Orz is an emote.
The fun part about space is how orientation doesn't matter as much.
@@DoomRater In this case, above and below are about dimensions, not coordinates. So it does matter.
@@AnMComm These dimensional orders are non-euclidian as far as I can tell. Reaching downward in their dimension to go "above" still works.
The creators outright confirmed all Orz are extensions of a singular extradimensional being calling itself Orz.
That is literary the opposite of what the authors intended with this being.
Yup, the Orz are not blocking, they’re reaching out to *campers* through their *fingers*. The Arilou are doing the obstruction, and that’s why the Orz don’t like them
"O-oh, deep space kun, we shouldn't... my Androsynth are open minded..."
"It's okay baby. I'll just insert the tip into your slippery space."
-A short while later-
"Hi! We are Orz! We are liking to play the *spicy games* and *party* with *happy campers*!
I'm more inclined to think the *many bubbles* are many minds, since it *smells*. It feels to me that they are not just an outer entity, but an souter entity with psionic strength very keen on feeding on minds.
I missed the lifeform I was four drahns before I saw this
I took apart the mod file for the Or music a while back and noticed that the music is partially constructed using sounds from Scooby Doo! Listen carefully, you'll hear Scooby!
When you finally understand what the Orz are saying, it's pretty terrifying.
@bonker Breeens I'm unsure the Orz are part of the matrix.
And part of that agenda is to make sure that Half Life 3 is never confirmed.
kind of makes me wonder how the orz understand what *we* say to them.
orz are have **translating device.**
To also add, the Andross were at shoot to kill with the Arilou, so thus they couldn't shield them either.
You can't trust them and yet you can't move away the opportunity to let them be part of the alliance out of desperation of survival.
Sometimes I greet people with "Hello extremely!"
LOL TOYS FOR BOB THEME IN THE BACKGROUND XD
"Hello extremely!" is how I will open livestreams
that music is perfect sound for Orz
I love the background song during dialogue "Diediediediediedie",so eerie .
Orz is pretty much an elder god/great old one with the intelligence and naivety of a young child.
Don't forget to enjoy the sauce 🫡
Orz is basically like Trelane from Star Trek TOS, a child or teen playing around in the prime material plane. One being of many others
Poor Androsynth. Created by humans and treated as slaves, they liberate themselves and establish their own world, only to be "recruited" by the Ur-Quan, and not long after wiped out by the Orz.
If not worse...
@@TheGoodLuc Just at being absorbed at minimal. Remember how they are no bodies/remains within the runs of Androsynth homeworld.
I wonder what kind of party he wants to have with the Dnyarri.
probably includes many **dancing**
The orz ara the single most epic sex joke in the universe.
Now and forever.
i don't get it.
@uberm0nster1 I think the lively music makes it creepier. The more you think about it, the worse it is.
So Orz are... the fingers of God protruding from underneath the universe?
The fingers of something dark and sinister and likes to *dance*
***** Sorry, I know it's a months late reply, but I feel like I should point something out.
The Androsynth were enslaved initially by the Earthlings, I believe that they are in-fact clones, there's some mention of that in-game. They have a fairly good reason to be space-douches.
Also, I think the Orz is just one being with the ability to project itself into multiple places at once. It's in the dialogue, as well: "...I am Orz. I am one with many *fingers*. My *fingers* reach through into *heavy space* and you *see* Orz *bubbles*."
*****
Not so much a race as they're all projections of one being - they are "fingers" (indicating parts of one) instead of "many bubbles" (individual beings, possibly referring to cells). Orz really should be referred to as it instead of they.
I made this comment six years ago, and it feels like I made it just yesterday. Craziness. Must be those _damn space fish_ again.
Androsynth are replicants. think blade runner. @@TheDeadSource their name literally means "synthetic man"
@Lobbdalobster
the Orz said that they tried to make many *Bubbles* from the Androsynth but it was not enough. Thats about it.
With speech, it doesnt feel the same.
@1acount I just watched From Beyond the other day,
between everything seeming almost fish like in that dimension, and everything else IC an't help but think the orz are references to that In their little mechsuits that look like fishtanks but are really dimensional resonance chambers.
NYYYYYYYYYYYYYYARGH! IT IS *dancing*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Maridianokus - Are you talking about the Orz Nemesis?
-D
Loveable. Must find this game, never had the chance to play it despite I enjoyed Master of Orion and such :(
sc2.sourceforge.net/downloads.php Enjoy! For maximum enjoyment, Set it to the PC music though. The 3DO ones weren't as much fun.
From what he says it seems like the taalo Did not go extinct, but moved into pretty space. That's good news at least :) my favorite race we never met
Maybe not so great news if the Orz went after them. I don't think it's established what *chasing* and *playing* means in Orzspeak, but it's the Orz we're talking about, so it's probably nothing good.
they could actually be talking in the past tense
It sounds like the music is going "DIE DIE DIE DIE"
"*spicy game* are always fun." Damn right!
I think it meant "game" like hunting
my favorite aliens of all time
@Gaiacarra I don't think they can push themselves out.
You get the feeling the reason races like the Dynarri may be rare is because if something like the Orz finds them it violently consumes them.
dnyarri are **sick fish.** it is too **frumple** to know.
@@Aziceybourd Evil and ignorance hmm.
Dammit. I'm feeling very frumple. Must have forgotten to enjoy the sauce.
Love the creepy danger of the *happy* words.
And you have to admit they are pretty cute despite they're actually sociopathic and possibly did not understand or rejected having certain feelings like guilt or remorse.
arilou have **blasphemous trait.** orz are **happy campers,** but not quite the same.
Those weird ass fish certainly have a Complex about the Androsynth..
Yes, of course. Difficulty. Problems are difficult. Let's be * special * together. * Spicy games * are always fun.
I see eight *silly cows* didn't want to *play*.
6:30 You lost me on "Fingers" 🤣
Carries the same energy as Rick & Morty cosmic horror
Now this is a shock.
I knew that the Orz music had a sample of Scooby-Doo going "HUH?!".
I didn't know that a -guy- was the voice actor... I always thought them very feminine-sounding!
@hartmrolf the thing about singular entities, extensions of a singular onedimensional entity, is uh, they seem to value homogenization of all campers into themselves
Jumping *Peppers*! This is smiley time!
Orz are dancing for dissolving the campers!
@WildFungus
Stop calling them "Andross".
DONT FORGET TO *ENJOY THE SAUCE*
These guys always gave me the creeps...
"Enjoy the sauce"
Now there are no more Androsynth. Only Orz. Who are **fingers** from **below**. Don't let them **smell** you. Don't.
A being's thoughts are like *little bubbles*
Am I the only one who hears the background music say 'Die' over and over again?
*Spicy games* are always *fun*
Isn't this music also used somewhere in some Disney skateboarding game or something?
9 *silly cows* are *frumple*.
silly cows are **sick fish** ever again.
