Man, if that's a Lyrick Ultimate it can only be an older 2.1 charger. I have one!!! On my Propain Tyee(the Tyee has 160mm of frame travel and I didn't want a Zeb fork, too heavy), a 180mm, red, Lyrick Ultimate fork. And it's the sweetest thing I've ever ridden!! But mine is brand new and the bike as ridden, at most, about 55kms. To this day that is considered one of the best trail forks ever made. Incredibly plush, "suave", simple to set, competent and reliable! And in my Stumpy Evo I have a 160mm Lyrick ultimate 3.0 charger(I bought it exactly 12 days before Rockshox launched the 3.1 internals, with the buttercups, wich are a good level up in eficiency - was heart broken with that unlucky move...). But still, my olive green 160mm lyrick ultimate in the stumpy is phenomenal. And if your's is, in fact, a 160mm 2.1 Lyrick ultimate then it's definitelly too stiff. When you find your definitive SAG, shock and fork, you write it down and safe keep it in a file cause that's the way you'll always want it to behave, your suspension. If you notice alterations with your ridding, check the PSI and check the bike for changes! Good talking to you Bil, good trails to you, my friend! Cheers from Coimbra, Portugal.
@@luismartins9521 yea I’ve head the new lyrics are even better. My forks have taken some very very heavy hits so they’ve done great. my next bike will either have zebs, Ohlins rxf 38, or just a v10 dh so we will see.
Wanna know my God honest opinion?...The Ohlins is considered, and probably IS, the best 38 stanchion fork there is. But a lot harder to fine tune and...not cheap. Save your money and go with a beautifull red Zeb 3.1 charger. It's a phenomenal fork and in that bike you can easily go longer, to 170mm. And I'm willing to bet it will be "all the fork" you'll ever need. But that's just me...and I love Rockshox and I'm able to procure them at a very honest price. Again, good ridings, my friend! Cheers from Portugal.
Hy Bil, I'm Luís from Portugal. Hope you don't mind but I wanna ask you some questions...Is that a Marin Alpine Trail? 150mm of frame travel coupled with, it seems, a 160mm Marzocchi bomber fork?...I have various bikes but I do have a 150/160mm bike, the Specialized Stumpy Evo, mullet, and it's as sweet as rain. It does have limitations, of course but it's a hell of an enduro bike. Yours seemed a little bit unsettled in the video and maybe that's just me but your fork seemed a little "stiff" and uncooperating. Still, one hell of ride and the trail seemed sweet. Hope you didn't hurt yourself that much in the crash. Cheers from Coimbra, Portugal.
@@luismartins9521 hey Luis, It’s a lyrik ultimate, and yea I haven’t rode in awhile so i did notice that my hands were rattling off in the tech, on the jumps they were great, i will most likely get it serviced very soon, its in need of one. It’s impressive you can identify how my fork feels but i do appreciate the comment. Always cool getting people from the other side of the world.
