Do you prefer a particular vegan kibble for Frankie? I have 2 hounds that eat my pay check and would love to do what you’re doing. Our greyhound has a sensitive stomach & our foxhound can’t do winged things so we’ve been stuck with beef for both & I’d like to quit contributing to that suffering since I do so for my human family food choices.
Honestly Derek, finding your channel has changed my life. I haven't eaten animal products in over two months, and have been following your recipe videos and using your cookbook. I find I'm not missing anything that I used to eat, and I feel so much better. Thank you for being a light in this world. You are appreciated ❤
I've gotten to the point where i just go directly to the store after i watch your new video and get the stuff to come home and make the recipe. always so simple and so delicious!
Love how you show that good tasty food doesn't need to be cheffy or difficult or contain anything to do with an animal. One thing I'd like to ask is I always drain my chickpeas because the aqua fabia is all thick and gloopy but I've noticed yours looks more watery, am I just buying poor quality chickpeas?
I love how you actually eat your food, and not just give it 1 bite and end the video. Really displays the raw truth behind the "practice what you preach" method of teaching that you have.
Thank you for another great video, Derek! I love watching you chop veggies, and I love how you keep your work station so clean. Frankie is as gorgeous as ever!
I do enjoy all your videos, but this was the one I needed to see. This practical, everyday kind of vegan cooking (simple, healthy, tasty) is what I need to know more about to keep me away from animal products. Thank you, Derek, for the educational value of your work as well as the culinary temptation of the most indulgent recipes you show us. And thank you too to Ms Frankie for adding a touch of glamour to the proceedings!
Thanks for this video! Sharing your everyday go-to meals is super helpful for the home cooks like me 👋🏼. I love your show stopper creations, too. They are inspiring. I enjoy your channel very much. Thanks again.
Love your channel, this is the kind of simple recipes that I've been looking for when I don't have much time during the week. The way you and Frankie are able to genuinely transmit your love of food and cooking is super contagious.
This was the first meal I made in my new house! It was so tasty, even my partner who isn’t fond of “healthy” food ate their whole bowl! Thank you! Fancy recipes are fun, but I love simple, delicious, recipes like this.
I love that you’re showing this because this is what I do on a regular basis and what I love about recipes like this is you can easily change the spices to have variety. A little bit of curry powder and tahini poured on top or ginger and soy.
I made this today during my work from home lunchtime and it's so good! I'm not quite all the way there with being completely vegan yet but many/most of my meals are now. Am so glad to have found your channel Derek, thank you.
Thank you Derek. I enjoy your videos very much. I went plant based decades ago after reading an article " from the farm to your plate in 6 weeks" . It also shed light on animal husbandry. That was the turning point for me. Growing up iin Mauritius, we had little meat. Our chickens, ducks and turkeys were truly organic from our backyard.and eaten for special occasions. Sadly, my family do not share my feelings; that's their choice.
I've never had so much fun watching social media content or been so excited when new videos pop up. This channel has inspired me to cook more, and I'm so grateful that you're sharing your love of cooking and compassion for animals. Thank you.
Made this last night. I used sweet potatoes instead of white, and since i didn't have smoked tofu, i sliced a block of tofu, pressed it and marinated in some liquid smoke and sprinkled smoked paprika before adding to the pot. Delicious! Thanks for the recipe! 😋
I concur with Miss Calllisto. This menu is a godsend for when I get bogged down and tired. So easy to follow with less effort and delicious. You really are helping so many of us embracing this way of cooking/living deliciously. I also have the book and your mushroom manifesto.
All the recipes can’t be fancy! Thanks for sharing your personal day to day with us, sometimes simple is best. Also, at the end my brain heard you say “Is this soup or satisfying”. So, thanks for the hidden jokes!
Thank god! I love your recipes, but a lot of them are simply not for m busy day with kid. This is PERFECT! I'll do it next week, though instead of carrots I will include pumpkin. I'm sure the little one will love it too. Thank you!
Derek, Thank you so much. I love your videos!! Last night I had a modified cry baby sandwich from your video. Showing this video and other simple ones helps so much. When I am tired or busy and there is something I can still make that is easy, delicious, and nutritious it makes me feel so good. Thanks a million. Give Frankie some scratches from me. 🐶💕
Hey, Derek, you are such a light and source of joy in the midst of some of the nonsense I see on RUclips. Just a suggestion, try putting the greens in a colander and set that into a bigger pot so that you can pour the water/carrot/potato mixture over it and then when you're ready to drain, you can just pull up the colander and have all that stock leftover for another application. Really love all of your videos and the energy you bring to all of your videos. Keep being you!
Your baked tofu blocks have saved me! Do mine in the air fryer… two at a time, different seasonings. Always have some protein in the fridge when hungry!
@@MsCValentiner Drain tofu, spread some mayo over the brick. Dredge brick in seasoned nutritional yeast mixture. Air fry for 25 mins @ 350. Perfection.👌
I swapped the mayo version for the vegan yoghurt version. Same seasoning (any seasoning you like, honestly) and then in the oven at 200°C for about 25 minutes or until a crust is starting to form. I then flipped it over and baked another 15 min or so.
I love this video. Sometimes I feel bad seeing the cooking channels make so much complicated and fancy recipes as weeknight meals and it doesn't work for me when I try, but it feels reassuring to see a professional chef make something more like what I actually eat.
I've been vegan for 50+ years after I read "Ordeal of the Animals" by Mel Morse when I was in middle school. My Tuscan grandfather (from Lucca) instilled in me the love of food fresh from the Earth and still warm from the sun. Your recipes are uncomplicated and nutritious, and, while he never tasted tofu (as far as I know), they remind me a lot of the meals we ate around my grandparents' table. I have to admit, though, that cooking water going down the drain nearly broke my heart. Soup!
I love your vegan perspective! I've been vegan for 9 years and cook that type of simple fare often too, it ticks all the boxes, without the pain/death. Thanks Derek.
Just found your channel. Thank you for all the yummy recipes. Made your stir fry noodles the other night, and it was a huge hit. I am now in my 60’s, and experiencing the years of eating badly. Your channel has helped me get much healthier.
Yummy, this is my kind of savory meal! I love collards, especially using the whole leaves blanched for chickpea "tuna" salad wraps. Have a fabulous weekend Chef Derek and sweet Frankie!💚🌱🙏
Thank you, that was lovely. I cook in pretty much the same way. We have an allotment where we grow all our vegetables. The taste is so much better. Love your dog, I thought I was the only one who kissed my dog like that. I'm happy to have found you.

Thanks for this video. I love it. It is quick, easy and healthy. I will definitely add this one to my rotation list. Collards and Lacinato Kale are my favorite greens. I love all vegetables. Hello sweet, Frankie. Looking gorgeous as always. Blessings to you both. It's always a pleasure. 👏👏👏👏
