HAHAHAHAHAAHA I was hoping for an “artist woodworker” kind of video and ended up watching the greatest thing ever.
😂😂😂😂
As a professional guitar player, totally agree with the idea of artificially relicing a guitar, especially if it feels good. And a lot of times, if it's well done, omg it feels amazing. No need to spend a lifetime relicing it. Cheers.
I genuinely have no idea if everyone is being sarcastic or genuine 😭
Thanks mate. I'll do this tommorow.
I'm glad KDH recommended you.
Thank you! Enjoy your stay 😁
At the 2:00 mark, that was close, almost dropped it, lol. Love how you jumped to catch it before it fell off the stand, a moment after throwing it across the parking lot 🤣
Ironic, right 😂😂
I see two arguments for relicing. The first is that I don’t see it as being fake but as another paint job/design. I mean certain designs inspire certain types of music and besides that if you want the look to be a certain way and not random then a relic is good for that. The reoccurring argument of “Just let it develop the relic over time,” meanwhile drives me crazy. I am not promised tomorrow. Everything can happen from me being murdered to a random heart attack. If I get to live to a ripe old age to see a well done relic then that’s great, but do not call people impatient for wanting the look now when they can have it versus a nebulous future which is uncertain.
Also the fact that modern guitars have thicker finishes on them compared to 60 years ago, which makes the finish wearing down take a lot longer.
Here I was expecting you to whip out the paintbrushes and sanding tools and as SOON as it cut away to you in the parking lot I started laughing and knew we was in for a great video lmao
😂😂
i was trying to find finishes that relic well over time and i found this. worth the watch lol
It’s true that shitty low end relic jobs are basically the worst thing you can do to a guitar, but when you see the kind of detail masters like Tom Murphy or Vincent Van Trigt manage to replicate it not only looks incredible but is also awe inspiring
Fantastic work!
Directions not clear enough i ended up kurt cobaining my guitar
Bro that’ll look so good with all black pickup and hardware
Your video tutorial was very insightful !
Laughed so laugh when you started throwing rocks 😂😂
Well, now it has a story
The history of the guitar that was used for the relic'ing video 😅
Exactly, this one is the exception 😌
And is used for generating money for charity.
Wow the back side of guitar.. I kinda like that relic
The back actually turned out kind of authentic 😂
❤ awesome hoodie!😊
Absolutely hilarious 😂mate lovin' the typical thick German sarcasm laid on with a trowel! My wife is from Isny & 22yrs later she still tolerates my mental guitardation she's funny just being herself like U Southern Deutsch & I still adore her. Didyabringyabingalong, Central QLD Australia 🦘
I’m so glad you made this, someone had to say it 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
Aaaaand now I’ve had to bid on the guitar 😂🙋🏻🤦🏻
I'll say all the things others are afraid to 😈
And thanks for bidding on the axe!
If someone is buying a poly painted guitar saying they want it to wear naturally, it will never look “aged” like you see many vintage guitars. So the whole “I want my guitar to age naturally” thing honestly just doesn’t apply to 99% of new guitars that aren’t nitrocellulose
It won't get the "relic" effect but it gets scratches and shit
@@sixstringtv1 Yeah, I’d attribute it more to a car having a scratch than what happens with the old guitars like the checking and all. Either way I agree that relic’d is a fad and if someone wants their guitar to age like a vintage guitar than they should just have it stripped and repainted with nitrocellulose and let it age naturally
It looks very nice tbh
I loved this video
The back looks cool, wish the front looked the same
An absolute work out art ❤️
The only method you forgot was the sauna for 15 then put it in the oven after at 320 for 2 hours. Quality relicing!
👌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Hilarious !! -- HILARIOUS is marked by or causing hilarity : extremely funny.
this is the best thing ive seen all day
I’ve got the same splattercaster you got in the wall there
Hilarious shit ! Had me in tears ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Holy Shit you've turned into Rob Chapman!!!! you could call it a road worn series. Love your videos bro. someday I hope we can do one together.
Lovely content! I want a true relic/used guitar too that had been played to death if funds permits. But for deliberate relic there is a fine line on those true enough & some like run by a car. haha! But again it depends on the owner. Enjoy!
True relic guitars are lovely
@@sixstringtv1 Couldn't agree more. Specially the neck and fingerboard of those really played in decades.
I bought a "scratch and dent" Fender at a discount from Sweetwater. As I was paying, I asked them whether I shouldn't have been paying more for it.
geil man... subbed!
Thanks for the sub Lars
How many guitarists cringed and squirmed on step 1....the noise of the shovel technique against paint. Funny lol
new sub. lol your funny af
🙏🙏
I'm absolutely positive Fender will hire you
I wish I saw your channel earlier. I would have bid on that "for the children"
They better 🙄
And yeah, bummer you weren't here early enough. To be fair, I had around 200 subscribers then
you know you ruined a perfectly good guitar stand just to make your guitar look so freaking sweet 😂
Wasn't perfectly good at all, that thing has been falling apart for weeks but I never threw it out cause I knew I wanted to make this video
Why the fuck is it this good looking
...I'd buy it...
This is funny asf 😂😂 came to look how to relic a actual guitar, this was better!
Not only how to make a relic strat but how to be a true RUclipsr!
Whoa....easy. You almost dropped it @1:57. 🙂
Well met, sir.
*walks into room*
YOOOO, NICE PARKINGLOT WORN CUSTOM
A relic master class...Fender custom shop employees should watch you , they might learn something...lol
😂
I mean
This genuinely works lololol
Yeah 🤷🏻♂️😂
4:05 that shit is legit.
why did you not save this for april fools, missed opportunity man
Bro I'm dying 😂😂😂
That is a torture to me. That is not a "relicking " that is destroying it.
United broke the fine tuners off my old school kahler. I called them and they asked for me to bring it back to the airport. Like they had a luthier on call or something
Ngl, i kinda like the way the back turned out
The back looks more convincing than the front for sure
I feel like relicing a guitar is ok if the guitar has some accidential bad unaesthetic damage.
Even then, leave it and let it relic on its own
Chase the algorithm…
Fun video - thanks. But some real pros enjoy relic guitars. If you want to check out an amazing guitar watch the full story about Danish Pete's purple telecaster.
constantly looking to the surroundings in case someone is watching him doing edgy stuff lmao
yes.
Looks like Willie Nelson’s Strat😂
What is this a Benny Hill/Monty Python guide to retro guitar work?
No this is how Fender does it
As a first career You had to choose porn over custom shop guy??? Glad to see you on the right path now.
SCHRAUBENZIEHER!
I'm cringing so hard as I watch this! 😂
I feel Anxiety looking on that.
Fun right
@@sixstringtv1 Rather far for it :D I'm hearing Oberyn Martell from Game of Throne back in my head "You raped her, you murdered her, you killed her children"
Help my guitars in two pieces
Well you did it wrong then idk 🙄
This video hurt me a lot 0:49
So you are saying if you want a old looking guitar you need to spend 20k on a real one?
wo ist der schraubenzieher😂😂
Yo my fucking skin crawled @ 1:20
Antiquing a guitar for charity, good on you!
@@sixstringtv1 Hey man, I came back o this comment because I realized that I was kind of a dick. You seem like a cool dude and I pretty much said some stupid and unnecessary shit. I will make no excuse, my comment was a dick move and I apologize for that. I shouldn't have undermined your efforts and especially your charitable contributions. Anyway, I will subscribe to your channel, not because of guilt, but because I really do like your content. Plus, you're a six-stringer, like me, and we should all really support each other. Anyway, thanks, bro!
caramel sauce
I’m totally fine with your relicing job but to call a Schraubendreher a Schraubenzieher is a crime!
I apologize sincerely, I grew up calling it schraubenzieher
Schraubendingsi
OMG it's so wired to watch.. while watching I'm having the same feeling as if someone scratching something sharp in a Chalkboard..
3:28 - did you really say "schraubenziaga"?🤣
I don't think that's a word, so no
@@sixstringtv1 bavarian for „screwdriver“ 😂
Roadworn literally
Just think paying for a relic job to this guy and him doing this to your fucking custom shop masterbuilt stratocaster
Only three grand!
@@sixstringtv1 yeah not a big deal sorry
please, sand it
Buying an already worn guitar is stupid
Preach
Hahaha definitely not doing it like that...
I've always wondered why so many people get so triggered by an object they don't own or would never buy? It's not yours who the fuck cares what someone else does to their guitar?
Exactly... And someone actually did buy it and is quite happy with it rn
Yea you made a clown out of urself successfully congrz
Aww can someone not take a joke
damn thats painfull
No you're supposed to skateboard the neck
BLASPHEMER!!!
Should’ve just chewed it up smh
😂
Ha😂ha I’m doing this to my charvel and then I’m gonna sell it for 7k
Lmfao
lol omg
but do not disrespect it
Nono, we're relicing it, not disrespecting it.
@@sixstringtv1 but it hurts man.. i like guitar but i cant aford one...
I didn't break it or anything, I ruined the aesthetic of it but it's still playable and now in the capable hands of the auction winner
@@sixstringtv1 nice brooo
🤣🤣🤣
The Murphy Lab should learn from this.🫡
hsha youre nuts
Are you kidding me
scratcing up the deck and trucks of a skateboard so people think you do rail slides and grinds all day is the equivilent of relic guitars ....its poser
I don't know shit about skateboarding, but yes
The act of relicing a guitar on purpose is a bit like crotch-stuffing. You pretend to have something that you don't. And it's another excrescence of impatience. Most relic jobs can be identified as such imho. How much did your axe bring up for charity btw?
Watch the follow-up video to see 😁
Wasn't a lot of money per se, but a lot more than I was expecting considering I had around 230 subs at the time
This hurt to watch a little
Wtf😂😂😂😂😂
wer spricht denn hier heimlich deutsch?!
This is disrespectful deeds to poor guitar....please respect your instrument
thats so painful to watch 😟
Guess he just doesn’t like black … things
