Right on! I'm pretty sure he and Tim are good friends and it would be interesting to know the behind the scene details concerning all that BS. Best strategy is to create great contennt and make things happen while ignoring the haters.
He is very much involved in creating drama and getting to a point of domestic terrorism over drama. It's why he is on a watch list. All of his little friends are guilty too.
4 safety rules preceed every firearm event in the Marine Corps 1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded 2. Keep your finger straight & off the trigger until you intend to fire 3. Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire* 4. Never point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot; be aware of your target and its background.
Absolutely correct, only thing I would add is in Rule 4, line 2 *personally* I prefer to use the word “destroy” in place of shoot, only because for newer students it emphasizes the reality of the act of using these tools. Not nitpicking or trying to correct, just mentioning how I was taught and why I feel that word is preferable
Been handling and using firearms my whole life. Now i have young children who i will teach soon like my father taught me. Really thankful for a resource like this to have a refresher and sanity check and also learn some new things. Mike has alot of knowledge he can transfer to civilians like myself. Very thankful for you mike thank you for what you do sir. God bless
Thank you Mike for offering to, "We the Civilian" aspects of the survival and defensive knowledge your former employment taught you. I have personally learned a lot!
How to pick up a firearm! How to rotate a firearm to the other hand! … The value of your teaching is top tier. I hadn’t put that depth into my practice and see it as valuable as any other part of practice! Thanks!
Great video! I just bought my first firearm 2 weeks ago now. I haven't shot it yet. Steadily doing dry fire and weapons manipulation whenever I'm not at work and at home. And I plan to do this for another couple of weeks before I ever take my first range trip. Definitely will follow along as you do more!
As a fairly new gun owner this material - and your overall content and approach - is excellent and much appreciated! Early on i watched one of your sessions on stance and targeting and it made exponential improvements in my confidence and accuracy.
This is so true. Ex springfield guy. So I shoot my 357 weekly. One day I bumped in to the g20 gen4 I wanted a powerful round with capacity. So shooting the 20 took beast grip and I want to shoot this like my 17 19 . Takes an effort, but practice is the key. Need to know where my rounds are going to hit. So now at 40 yards I hit baseball size group. But I'm a recoil tuner, not everyone is. I say this to say find your round and practice..
I have taken training from some of the best in the country. Feldcraft is the real deal. Professional, safe and worth the time. I sent my wife through the womens course w/amber and she sent a bunch of her friends through. I am signing up for all three gunfighter classes. Thanks Mike
I remember you saying dry fire and manipulation wasn’t that important a long while ago, great to see you doing content like this now. It will help people
This is great information. Teaching Pistol confidence is so important. Yes shooting is important too, but the way you handle the weapon is essential for success. I see too many mistakes at the range due to lack of training and confidence.
Mike, you're a real one. This is some badass shit! I love the intensity and focus on the basics! So important! Thanks for being an inspiration in my preparedness journey!
This content is very informative and straight forward for anyone to understand, especially for those thinking about getting into firearms. Thank you Fieldcraft team and mike for the great content as always!
What do beginner shooters concentrate on? The basic fundamental skills and safety to become a competent shooter. What do competent shooters concentrate on? Becoming better and faster and more accurate shooters to become an expert. What do expert shooters concentrate on? The basic fundamentals and safety. It’s full circle. There is ALWAYS time for fundamentals and the practice of safe handling of firearms.
What a fantastic video, edited well too. You are a great teacher, such valuable information. I would love to see online training (paid classes) for people like me that are home bound disabled senior that has self defense “hopefully” 😂 in place. Even trips for senior women can be sketchy. I live in TX so can carry. FYI ; You’re looking great and your energy is great. 👏👏 enjoy your shows. Thank you.
You’d be surprised how many gun people still fail to always treat the weapon like it’s loaded. No matter how much experience you think you have, the fundamental rules of safety always apply. Well done video indeed.
Merry Christmas Sir! A good follow up to this video -- practicing with dummy ammo. I start beginners at home using dummy ammo, so he or she can practice loading, unloading, dry firing, and manipulating the action. During this time the student is getting low cost no risk confidence, and I am watching their muzzle discipline before I bet my life on their ability to listen and be coordinated under stress. Same reason we take people tandem before skydiving and skydiving before BASE jumping.
Any link to find pricing and location on that gun fighter program? I'm assuming it's only in the patreon and that's why he mentioned it towards the end? Does that mean it'll only be available to the patreons?
Great point, once you walk away you dont know who has handled it. Case in point, years ago two deputies came back from the range and cleaned their weapons. One guy walked away for a few then returned to the cleaning table not realizing his buddy had reloaded the weapons and he stepped away. That deputy picked his firearm thinking it was unloaded and 'dry fired' what he thought was a clear firearm in a safe direction, at the sliding patio door. Imagine his suprise when he cooked off a live round and shattered the door. Always assume its loaded! Im glad I didnt work with those two clowns.
It's firing on non-live rounds, like on a snap cap, or an empty chamber. In certain firearms, dry fire on empty chamber will screw up the firing pin(?), so it's good to have snap caps. Don't forget to be deliberate and separate caps from live rounds.
Hi id like your opinion. I carry a glock generation 3 17 9mm with 124+p Speergolddot as my primary ammo. I use my gen 3 glock 17 for concealed carry and home defense. I like. 40S&W as well. I use to own a glock 22 but traded it in. I like .40S&W and in accuracy im just as good with .40S&W as i am with 9mm. I love 9mm. I was thinking of getting an AR-15 5.56. I can only have it in my home and if i want to carry it in my car it has to be unloaded (magazine out) unless i need to use it then i can insert it. I've never been much of an AR-15 guy. Im more comfortable with handguns. Plus i can only really have it for home defense not carry. Im thinking if i decided to get a glock 22 .40S&W. Would my glock 17 and glock 22 be good enough for self defense, street defense and home defense. Against multiple suspects also? Like for example if i encounter a suspect in the street or breaking into my home and he is armed with a rifle can i still use a 9mm or .40S&W to stop the threat even if he has more of a powerful weapon than me. Id appreciate your opinion.
100 percent agree. Gun safety needs to be taught, America is a gun culture and safety needs to be taught as a standard in all schools. Deff could see a lot less gun related accidents and potentially shootings
big mistake. #1 Remove the ammo source (remove the magazine) #2 empty the chamber (lock the slide back) #3 visually and physically inspect the empty chamber. mikes endresult was the same, however its always important to first remove the mag
Was taught to drop the magazine first in the Army decades ago. I've never heard locking the slide first. Seems weird to me! Not sure it actually matters...

Yeah. We watched the video.
That's why marines are only allowed to fire five rounds a year. Four are accidental discharges and one is to qualify.

A lot of guntubers don't do that enough. Unlike us yougunner who do it all the time.

I've seen it too much. Most are decent shooters, but they get cocky. " I've been shooting for years," that is when mistakes happen.
Almost every single conceal carry person/RUclipsr carries appendix and has a loaded weapon pointed at their genitals and femoral artery.
Smashing video Mr Glover, thank you and your crew.
Thanks a lot Mike & to your team for this from Italy.

Is there any reason you don’t drop the mag first before locking the slide to the rear to check if it’s safe?
Came here to say this…I think for new gun owners, or anybody, you should 100% remove the feeding source first.
Any link to find pricing and location on that gun fighter program? I'm assuming it's only in the patreon and that's why he mentioned it towards the end? Does that mean it'll only be available to the patreons?

how many rounds a week should I be aiming for in practice? What is the minimum frequency practice should I be trying for?

Every detail of that story sounds insane! So we not only give these clowns a gun but a badge too! Brilliant!
One question?
What is a dry fire? I’m new to gun community
It's firing on non-live rounds, like on a snap cap, or an empty chamber.
In certain firearms, dry fire on empty chamber will screw up the firing pin(?), so it's good to have snap caps. Don't forget to be deliberate and separate caps from live rounds.

I use Tasmanian Tiger 🐅
The Erbelestock bando bag is pretty good.

Just the other day I saw 2 males flagging each other while discussing how firearms works....
You should add a wrist splint into your EDC rotation, I hear they can be very effective if someone attacks you in your home.

big mistake.
#1 Remove the ammo source (remove the magazine)
#2 empty the chamber (lock the slide back)
#3 visually and physically inspect the empty chamber.
mikes endresult was the same, however its always important to first remove the mag
Some people do say to remove a chambered round first. Removes 1 step with a round chambered, I assume is the thinking.
Correct. Always remove the magazine first.

I agree. Mag first.
