      Diogo BP my favorite moment was on the solo attempt on Amelia (on ng+ since I used co-op) where dodging her attacks finally "clicked" with me, and I went from dying with her at 80-100% to downing her while only using 2 vials in the course of one fight. It was like hitting Enlightenment

    I couldn't agree more. The first time I fought the 20 dudes on the street, I was killed instantly. It took me 30+ attempts to clear that. Now? I ran in full speed and destroy every one of them without batting an eye lash.

      Me, newly appointed whimp of a Hunter: **going up the stairs at the right side, stealthily sneaking around, waiting for the mob to disperse and then systematically taking them all out, one after the other, took more than 10 minutes**
      Me, finally a proud and proper Hunter: **rushing in, taking out the rifle guys first, then Hunts down the rest, took about 3 minutes**
      Me, veteran Hunter and the scourge of Yharnam: **rushing in, cutting everyone to ribbons, saving the rifle guys for last just so I have to be mindful of stray bullets, all to keep the Hunt as thrilling as possible, took no more than 1 minute**

    I made it all the way to the Lost woods then a power outage corrupted my data. I had to start all over, but the interesting thing was I had gotten so good I was parrying every attack and beating every boss in my first try, it felt really satisfying like I leveled up as a person.

      Polo Surf The essence it's what's important though, you can add extra mechanics sure. But the formula is still basically exactly the same. Yes it's offensive instead of defensive, completely true. But the formula remains unchanged, you still have respawning enemies, you still have the same metroidvania style level design and weird creative monsters. Bloodborne is just a Souls game with a few tweaks and a new art style, and that is a good thing.
      Actually no, Fallout New Vegas is a very different game, same engine aside it's an entirely different formula. Instead of a Bethesda style completely open world RPG, NV is a much more linear traditional RPG, that just so happens to have an open world.

      @Jon-mj1uq 9 лет назад +21

      ***** That's totally fine for your first souls-like game. I grinded the silver knights in Anor-Londo until I was basically unstoppable on my first playthrough of Dark Souls. After that I started to use dex builds (and 2 handing my weapon) and was able to get farther without spending so much time grinding. Basically it's harder without the grind, but YOU are improving instead of your character. Not saying you weren't improving either, but you will have more room for error with the extra levels earned from your hard work of killing fools.
      Also BRAP BRAP! Love listening to you talk about videogames man!

    This was similar to my experience in BB. I never played a souls game before this but I decided to play it because I watched a gameplay, I fell in love with the design, and it's now my favorite game of the current generation. It's not game of the year, it's top 10 games of all time for me.

    • @nomad9584
      @nomad9584 7 лет назад +7

      I'm similar too. Never played a souls game before and Bloodborne was my first 'souls' game if you will. Took me a few days to get through the initial Yarnham stage and thought it was an awful game. Who would want to die over and over for the sake of it, I thought? Persisted though and now it's one of my favourite games of all time. Think Bloodborne and DSIII are the best games of this generation.

      I am not a "true die hard" gamer, by any stretch of the imagination, but I love From Soft SoulsBorne games. This attitude towards their games almost put me off picking up Dark Souls. They aren't super hard core games, they just don't hold your hand and give you prompts throughout the game. They don't force feed you the story through hours of cut scenes and exposition. They are just fantastic games.

    • @whatfreedom7
      @whatfreedom7 7 лет назад +1

      eyebash1 I thought nioh was easier. One because the character seems to be swifter with his attacks and not as delayed like bloodborne. I really had to slowly progress one block at a time on Bloodborne and level up while dying twenty times. It took me alot of leveling up to even beat the larger enemies in bloodborne while in nioh I was beating them the first day of the demo.IMaybe it's because I'm more use to BB at this point idk. It also seems easier because the camera angles seem to be a little less awkward like when fighting large bosses on BB. Nioh they seemed to improve on it a little. I still haven't figured out how to purchase health and other stuff in nioh. Their seems to be more to learn in nioh so it's going to take me a while to pick up on it all. I'm level 85 on BB and still don't have a clue on how to co-op with people. I hope it's more clear in nioh.

      Not sure if you've seen the dungeons through to the end or not (considering I'm replying 3 months later), but they're honestly not that important. I think they were added to the game as a unique, experimental aspect that wasn't expanded upon enough. I've beaten the dungeons once, and it was extremely difficult, but I was ultimately left feeling unsatisfied.
      By contrast, I feel that the main game is phenomenal.

      scarified These games have adjustable difficulty, the only thing is, it's not done through a menu, it's done through gameplay.
      Want an easier time? Grind XP and farm upgrade materials. Want it harder? Don't level up, don't upgrade your weapons and take off your armor.
      Either route you go though, you're not given anything for free, you have to earn it, and because you have to earn it, either way can be satisfying.
      Although, the harder the better I say! The more I struggle with the game, the bigger the buzz I get when I overcome it :-)

    Brian's experience somewhat mirrored mine regarding the previous games in the series. At this point, I'm a hardened veteran though, so there wasn't as much of a wall to be broken down, before I could appreciate the game's greatness. The concept of risk vs reward is the very essence of what gaming is supposed to be about, and yet it's something that most games around today have forgotten all about. I'd say this game even handles it better than the Souls series. It feels more fair than them, while still being very challenging. That on top of all its other elements, such as the God tier world and creature design, fantastic combat model and oppressive horror atmosphere, makes it one of the best games ever made, and one that can safely be called a masterpiece.

I loved the game so much even after playing for a few hours and I managed to master the first street quite fast but got stuck on the two ware wolves for so long because I didn’t know I could purchase items (Mainly Molotov’s). I had deleted it after getting so frustrated and before going to bed I watched this video, so the next morning I re-downloaded the game and I’m so glad I did. I played DS3 first then BB.
    Finished and absolutely love both of them, but imo BB was way more easy than DS3.
    It was actually really difficult until you beat the Blood Starved beast and Vicar Amelia, but after that the game gives you so many Blood Echoes that let you level up so easily without grinding and farming.
    The majority of the enemy and bosses doesn't make that much damage neither, especially if you have Vitality above 30.
    Still I find it an absolute gem of a game and enjoyed it a lot, especially for the lore!

They were so intense and the difficulty was very high, but the feeling of achievement and relief made it all worth while. It's a good kind of stress, if that makes sense.

    the first area in bloodborne is designed to break you with the mobs of enemies along with the two bosses. After that everything else just works with you, and you have the skill to deal with something that does not want to go your way. Also if you want a real challenge try the dlc on ng+ or higher that will really test your skill and patience

  • @AeonMoonGod
    @AeonMoonGod 6 лет назад

    Wow! This is exactly how I feel about Bloodborne except I never felt like was gonna quit. I wasn't sure it was for me then it became free last month and I decided to see why so many people love this game. I played it expecting to die a lot and I did but I fell in love with it especially after Cleric Beast. Father G I was reminded of the quote from Dishonored by Daud saying "Now we fight the dual, no two others could fight, against the ticking of the clock." and I defeated him with no problem on my fifth or so try. From there I thought that I had a pretty good idea of what I would be up against. I love Bloodborne and it is my all time favorite game which used to be The Darkness II and before that it was [PROTOTYPE]. So yeah I like games with a darker story to them. I had played Demon Souls and Dark Souls but didn't complete either of them. I have platinum on Bloodborne as of yesterday 4/25/2018. Defeating the bosses is so satisfying. Rom the vacuous spider was the most difficult boss ever. Mergo's Wet Nurse comes in a close second. Then Headless Bloodletting Beast in the dungeons is the third most difficult boss. I say the Witch of Hemick, Celestial Emissary and Yharnam Pthumerian Queen are the easiest bosses. I defeated Witch of Hemick on my first try by myself. Celestial Emissary I defeated in two tries because the first time I had barely any blood vials left. So I got more blood vials then faced Celestial Emissary again and defeated him. Anyone can watch my video game videos here on RUclips including Bloodborne. I hope they make a Bloodborne 2.

      Diabolical I think it really depends on your reaction time and your play style. A more aggressive play style definitely helps in a lot of cases. I tried to exchange blows slowly with bosses and keep my distance and let them come to me and swing like I'm playing baseball. Lol bad idea that doesn't work too well in this game. I've had much better luck getting in close up in their personal space like in a boxing ring and slash away.
