Physician here. What I love about these fights is that most of the strategies are scientific. My favorite is Kidomaru finding the blind spot on Neji's byakugan. Observation, hypothesis, experiment (using long-range attacks), analysis, and conclusion. This discovery made the fight very hard for Neji. Kidomaru is THE ONLY ONE (as far as I am concerned) in the series who is able to show this weakness. The precise localization of the blind spot behind the first thoracic vertebra is also ridiculous. Truly a sharp analyst.

In your example of the Pain fight, pretty sure Naruto also cover the eyes of the Preta path to stop that one from revealing the clone coming in from the top rope. Honestly, he kept track of every moving part really well.
That's also why the clone that jumped up to attack from above attacked the Naraka Path instead of the Deva Path, even though the Deva Path was the more troublesome opponent. If he'd tried to attack the Deva Path, the Naraka Path would have seen him coming.
Sasuke going to missions and turning himself to a tree just to not pay any child support is the highest iq move in the series. Dude won the battle of life
I'd say at that time Obito didn't actually knew that Minato was able to teleport to his kunais. The fact that not even Kakashi knew that this "special kunai" gifted to him by Minato actually had a Flying Raijin seal on it and Minato was actually able to teleport to it at any given moment, only proves this statement. Also, without knowledge of that, it caught Obito off guard by kunai being out of his sight and Minato being the fastest being alive (just remember how even Sasuke (one of the fastest character in the series by the way) struggled against Bee's speed in a close combat) made it impossible for Obito to react in time
@@Pain-106 Typical dumb Naruto interpretation here. There were plenty of strategies used in that fight, the most notable one being Sasuke making the clouds fat with fire jutsus to enable his Kirin.
It's just that, since the combatants got way more destructive arsenals, some fans began seeing the War Arc as much simpler than it actually was. Naruto figuring out that Juubito is not immune to sage energy, because Gamakichi's acid spit wasn't completely brushed off by the Truth-Seeking Orb, so he and Tobirama worked in tandem to shove a senjutsu-infused Rasengan in his still-marked back is an example I always remember. Not to mention that ridiculous scheme to Flying Thunder God the whole Ninja Alliance out of the Six Rays Formation, in order to escape Juubito's Juubi Bombs.
I put the neji vs kidomaru fight higher on my list bc the fight revolved around kidomaru trying to find neji's weakness and it involved him coming up with a hypotheses and then testing said hypotheses during the fight (much like how sasuke tested out his hypothesis of his lightning style countering deidara's bombs). The counterplay in that fight was so cool and I think it's the most strategic fight out of the sound 4.

You gotta put so Sakura vs Sasori moments in there…When she creates anti-virus to Sasoris poison. They literally say only like 3 others could’ve done what she did
Tbh I feel like Sasuke vs Naruto at the end of part 1 should be on the list. Sasuke made so many intelligent plays there, between how he used the wire to bind Naruto, calculated how many tools he had and realized he needed to steal Naruto's tool bag. Hell, he even had a few moments where he would've won much earlier but specifically chose not to because he was strategically dragging out the fight so that he could evolve his sharingan to 3 tomoe

Good list overall. I think Sasuke vs. Itachi is also worth an honorable mention since both were amazing strategists and although you *think* Sasuke won the battle of wits at first, you later get Tobi's plot twist dump regarding Itachi's motives and how the fight *really* went. Itachi, despite succumbing to illness, had accomplished everything he wanted to in that battle as he never intended to kill Sasuke in the first place. Instead, he focused heavily on subtly protecting Sasuke in the battle (such as removing Orochimaru's curse mark and planting Amaterasu in an effort to prevent Tobi from revealing the truth).

One thing I always wondered about is, how exactly does this replacing of eyeballs work in verse? Like are they just casually pulling their own eyeballs out and putting the other guys' balls inside the socket? (That wouldn't really work because eyeballs have more or less the most concentrated nervous system attached to them). Also it never really seems like there's a lot of pain involved (which it certainly would be IRL). Would love a vid on this topic, thanks! Keep it up!
@@GIN.356.A not really, but the guys that do it are just built different in the verse. For example, in the Danzo fight they say that "Hashirama powers are hard to control" but we all know that's bs and everybody get some of those cells as cheap powerups!
Honestly Itachi vs. Konoha and Itachi vs. Sasuke has to be the highest IQ moments because of simply what Itachi was ACTUALLY doing the entire time. Jiraiya vs. Pain was very high as well.
Number 1 was not just a awesome fight. But it was also a hard counter so that the story can move on but the quick summoning escape was really well thought through
In that matter(Battle IQ) Naruto is like Goku like they're way Intelligent when it comes to fighting most of the time no 🧢 Edit: Love them Cheems and Doges dancing at the end
If each akatsuki pair switch their opponent will they still keep up with the high IQ battle or they straight up lose? Like: Kakuzu vs Shikamaru Hidan vs Team Kakashi Deidara vs Gaara, Chizo + Sakura Sasori vs 3-tails, Sasuke Itachi vs Killer Bee, Gai Kisame vs Sasuke Konan vs Utakata, Jiraiya, Naruto Pain vs Obito
Personally i think Kakashi AND itachi highest battle iq. The way Kakashi uses substitution jutsu he fooled everyone itachi,óbito, pain etc. AND itachi i mean he has people literally fighting themselves lol
I think Ino Shika Cho vs Kingaku and Gingaku also deserved a place in the top, despite being considerably weaker than them, they defeated them by turning their own weapons against them
I'm pretty sure the fake rasenshuriken is not a shadow clone transformed, is Naruto itself transofrmed, other way, Pain would absorbed the transformation and also the shadow clone. Watching the sequence the montage kind of suggest it, I think. Great video btw.
The issue with by this tier list is the concept of perception and scale. Strategy is relative to perception which can be a catch all term for power level, experience, fundamentals, implementation of the those three prior disciplines. What does that mean? Let's say your a katateka fighting against a boxer, the greater the gap in abilities between the two sport combatants or life and death combatants (because those are two very different type of engagements) because fundamentals one has rules and one doesn't at it's core. Let's say both sport combatants are having a medium intensity round and for simplicity sake they have roughly the same level of abilities. The fight will require tremendously more strategy than an amateur boxer vs a professional because the abilities difference between the two changes their perception which changes the strategy. In case people don't know professional fighters study for hours the fights and movements of their upcoming matches to adapt their strategy but against far superior fighters with greater abilities this has vary degrees of success. How does that relate to this non-realistic battle shounen? It means comparing almost all of the part 1 fights to part 2 fights fall apart because the scale of abilities of the combatants is very vast with the exception being Kakashi vs Leaf Jonin. Like you can argue that Shino vs Kankuro is very strategic but that's because the perception of the two characters isn't a big gulf but you can't rank higher than Guy vs Madara because the abilities and perception of Madara allows him to observe and toy with a fighter who must rely on support to have a fighting chance. If you take any of those characters at that level of ability and swap them for Shino then the strategy will be incredibly simple and a one move stomp. Conversely, if you put Shino or Kankuro in place of anyone vs Madara it doesn't matter what they do Madara just does a one move curbstomp and goes about his business. This means you can argue that a simpler strategy can be a higher form of strategy because the exponent is so developed he can negate the need for complex ones. That's what makes this tier list hypocritical in almost all of the rankings unfortunately. Now if you said this was a tier list of the level of effort fighters used to win and how nuanced it was shown it would be much more accurate. But this isn't a good title to market so I get it.
The strategies Shino used in your rewrite were better than anything in this list. Naruto tries to emphasize the importance of preparation, but there are so few times a character specifically prepares for a fight by bringing a counter to the enemies' abilities. Konan v Obito, Shikimaru vs Hidan, and the Sasori fight were great, but it wasn't enough.
13:59 If shikimaru learned the akamichi jutsu it would be over 😮he could expand his shadow by blocking the sun physically and catch his opponents in shadow paralysis jutsu. I wonder if he expanded his shadow with the inashikacho connection could he explode people body by growing?😅
The best strategy is that Naruto knew about Talk No Jutsu since he was a child, he just needs some strong emotion in the target, something he can connect to. After that he can rewrite part of people's emotions and the path they will take. Something similar to what Shisui's Sharingan does. He planned everything since the day he stole the scroll. Think about it. He stole a super valuable scroll from the village to deliver to a traitor. After the situation is resolved without any major consequences for him he receives the bandana and the title of Genin... you know.....WTF This is the power of Talk No Jutsu
Naruto didn’t have a shadow clone transform into a rasenshuriken during the pain fight, it was himself. Otherwise that pain would have absorbed the shadow clone jutsu. And that’s why when he absorbs the transformation he says “so you’re the original”
The Naruto that was transformed into a Rasenshuriken during the Pain fight was not a Shadow Clone. The Shadow Clone was the one that attacked the Naraka Path. If the transformed Naruto that was thrown at the Preta Path had been a Shadow Clone, the Preta Path's chakra absorption would have dispelled the Shadow Clone at the same time as the transformation. That's why when Naruto tackles the Preta Path, the latter says 'you're the original?'
Actually Minato didn't figure out how kamui works. He simply realized Obito has to materialize himself to attack. That's it. And that's so obvious😂 Danzo's bodyguards did the same at the same amount of time because. I never considered that as great intelligence feat
Something about Shikamaru I kinda understand but also don't understand... is that there is a very easy way Shadow possession jutsu becomes terrifyingly useful. He doesn't exactly need to pick up an object to use it against himself I believe he has shown this as well. The way possession evolves to peirce and strike from shadows themselves means he could of easily put some time into shadow puppetry in a whole new light. I mean he can only extend from the reach of his shadow so far sure... but you can cast a shadow Miles with the right light source. Theoretically he could build a shadow version of the ninetails with a spotlight... even the nine tails couldn't actually damage the shadow either.
Not sure i'd necessarily say it's the outright cleverest moment, it's more opportunism than say, Shikamaru's super-elaborate planning, but really appreciated the hell out of Naruto defeating Pain's preta Path by exploiting its inability to process Senjutsu Chakra and the fact that he was immobile anyway.
What's the most intelligent moment in Naruto?
When Naruto quickly learned resenshuriken by casting as many shadow cones as possible
Sakura choosing to cut her hair because Kin's *unprotected and vulnerable* hand was holding it
Tobirama challenging kinkaku and ginkaku bc he challenged someone leagues above him oh did I just explain the opposite of intelligent?🤣
When konan made a plane to counter that Obito Manginku bs jutsu
Yoooo I rock with your new pfp!

(That wouldn't really work because eyeballs have more or less the most concentrated nervous system attached to them). Also it never really seems like there's a lot of pain involved (which it certainly would be IRL). Would love a vid on this topic, thanks! Keep it up!
In Naruto universe, immunology is not really a thing. You can just plug and play bodyparts
Nice new PFP
Sasuke vs. Deidara defenetly deserves the 1st spot 😮😮
Number 1 was not just a awesome fight. But it was also a hard counter so that the story can move on but the quick summoning escape was really well thought through
6:02 Why the teleportation jutsu works on Juubito? Aren't those guys immune to everything besides taijutsu and sage?
In that matter(Battle IQ) Naruto is like Goku like they're way Intelligent when it comes to fighting most of the time no 🧢
Edit: Love them Cheems and Doges dancing at the end
If each akatsuki pair switch their opponent will they still keep up with the high IQ battle or they straight up lose?
Like:
Kakuzu vs Shikamaru
Hidan vs Team Kakashi
Deidara vs Gaara, Chizo + Sakura
Sasori vs 3-tails, Sasuke
Itachi vs Killer Bee, Gai
Kisame vs Sasuke
Konan vs Utakata, Jiraiya, Naruto
Pain vs Obito
Personally i think Kakashi AND itachi highest battle iq. The way Kakashi uses substitution jutsu he fooled everyone itachi,óbito, pain etc. AND itachi i mean he has people literally fighting themselves lol
Itachi Sasuke vs Kabuto battle deserves to be on this list. Intelligence comes from everyone participating in the battle
I legit got up from my chair and exited full screen mode the moment i heard number 1 spot
Remember when Shino was a mystirious badass and not a joke??? Good times
yeah...
I think Ino Shika Cho vs Kingaku and Gingaku also deserved a place in the top, despite being considerably weaker than them, they defeated them by turning their own weapons against them
Guys where can I find Naruto's manga coloured the same way as the pics in the video? The colouring is so well done.
sakura vs sasori should be on here
Fr
The naruto and ragnarok online ost are too much nostalgia for me to handle ; A ;
7:30 do shadow clones classify as ninjutsu?
Then why didnt Pain absorb Naruto's clone?
It’s ninjutsu but solid chakra and not in an energy state
#1 is Naruto and Sasuke vs Zabuza when Sasuke threw Naruto disguised as a shadow shuriken
I'm pretty sure the fake rasenshuriken is not a shadow clone transformed, is Naruto itself transofrmed, other way, Pain would absorbed the transformation and also the shadow clone. Watching the sequence the montage kind of suggest it, I think. Great video btw.
Amazing new pfp
Jiraya vs pain deserves to at least be in the top 10
Naruto's Clone vs Controlled Third Raikage is still one of my favorites, Naruto accidentally recreates history. 😂
I believe that Jiraiya vs pain should've at least been an honorable mention.
i would actually rank Shikamaru vs Hidan higher than Shikamaru vs Tayuya. but that's just me. Sasuke vs Deidara tho? absolutely.
I wish fights in My Hero Academia included such high iq battles
itachi and sasuke vs kabuto
Shikamaru fights are so awesome
After the situation is resolved without any major consequences for him he receives the bandana and the title of Genin...
you know.....WTF
This is the power of Talk No Jutsu
Sasuke has the best biq feat in naruto
Notification gang!
Under a hour gang
That's why when Naruto tackles the Preta Path, the latter says 'you're the original?'
deidara is actually very underrated
Yes
Would you do fight analysis videos?
I was about to be so mad at you for #1 lmao
Deidara vs Gaara is my fav fight. What a way to start the time skip.
@markstein2845the gara rescue arc is a perfect start for Shippuden the problem is that a lot of people watch the anime
Actually Minato didn't figure out how kamui works. He simply realized Obito has to materialize himself to attack. That's it. And that's so obvious😂
Danzo's bodyguards did the same at the same amount of time because.
Naruto's Reverse Harem Jutsu against Kaguya🤣
