this is astonishing to see GK so young and countercultural. Watching this clip really took me back to another era that is almost gone now... He was just doing what he loved and in doing so he created a huge legacy of love and admiration.
Also, that beard suits his voice and sensibility nicely. Funny to hear his Minnesota dialect even stronger in his unselfconscious youth.
Later, he became larger than life, but here, he seems to be just one of the boys...

This was before Keillor began trying to harmonize with the guests on Prairie Home and they started the Guy Noir & Cowboy bits. I still tune in occasionally but the early years seemed more entertaining to me.
