tbh i really like the tidious work you do to make the surrounding of the coaster look good, more than just placing stuff and creating new areas. I love how you decorate rides and areas. i'd love to see more of that, it's really NOT boring!
it's funny that you said "if you like my personality here, you'll like me there". because the reason I came to Flabiliki (did I spell that right? 😂) is because I liked your personality on SimSupply
Future now. Yeah, those numbers are significant, but tiny compared to the current numbers. I think this was actually around the time I found the Sim Supply, so it's extra cool to hear about it and remember it all this time later
With recording in bulk Flab, why don't you do a bit of both? Record say three hours a time and put them out in hour increments, that way you can always see your feedback and implement part way through etc. That way you can sort of do a bit of both.
You're only human and keeping up two RUclips channels is a lot of work. It's understandable to lose motivation. I just want to say I have found so many new games because of you and this channel and I think that's the best part of what you do. Getting to play so many different types of games. I hope you find the spark again soon and will continue to support whatever you decide to do. Lots of love ❤️
It doesn't matter to me if you'd prefer to record it all in a row. Sure there'd probably some little annoying thing to change, but I think there's gonna be that regardless. After all you can't make everyone happy, even with the feedback. I'd only be happy to have a series where you genuinely enjoy making it (Not that I don't think you enjoy these). You're one of my favourite RUclipsrs and I support you :)
There are more lights in the building menu. There are big flood lights and lots of themed lights. I don't know if you already knew this or you just forgot?
Hi James just wanted to say that i really enjoy your videos and i think that we, your viewers, should be your motivation. Every time you upload a new video my heart just starts beating a little faster and i have the best 40 min of the week. Thank you for all your work i really enjoy it. :D
I really enjoy watching this series! i always look forwards to it. In the empty section near the log flume, you could just pit some advertising signs, food stalls etc.
James, I'm subscribed to both this channel and The Sim Supply. Love your vids and I really hope you will find your motivation back for this channel, keep up the good work!
James, I'd love to see you record a series like you mentioned, the way you find it comfortable c: As you said, maybe a day of gaming, cut up in separate episodes to watch. Just to try it out. I understand that feedback is fun to receive and work with, and I really like how interactive you are with your watchers! But I think it's worth a try c: No matter what, really, I'll look forward to your content ^^
I'm in favor of recording multiple videos at once. It sounds like you're trying way too hard to include feedback rather than entertain and be happy. If you get tired of a game, I'll get tired of watching you play it and then we'll have another 10 min intro of you trying to work out how to run your channel.
dude I love this stuff!! really enjoy the flipy coasters. I think you need to spread out more on a park, and do like gardens and stuff.... love this game lol
Honestly I just want you to do whatever it takes to make you happy and get you excited about creating content! I mean I watch your videos simply because I like you! I almost always have one of your videos playing. I mean you could do a series where you just stare at a blank wall and tell us about what you had for lunch and I'd still watch it because you'd somehow still make that entertaining. So basically, do whatever you want.
I think that that's mostly a decision you have to make yourself. Sure we as a community can offer advice on the topic, but in the end it depends on whether you prefer recording in bulk or episode per episode. Generally speaking, I think none of us are going to die if it takes you a couple episodes to implement comments, but that's just me. As a general tip maybe, I feel like you'd probably feel better about it if you played more games for the channel at once. To me it feels like you concentrate on a single (or two) games at once and then play a lot of stuff for them. If you had a couple more series going on at once, perhaps you wouldn't get sick of the games as easily, as you spend a lot of time inbetween doing other games. Sure, that'd mean that there would be more time between episodes, but I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer for the next part, if that made it more fun for you. Cause that's what it's all about. You should still have fun playing those games and not just feel the need to do it for your viewers.
James, I think you need to have a happy medium of both 30-60 minute parts every day, and a mass recording. I think a series needs both of those. I also think that will help make you less bored.
I love your content Flabs! I even watch you play games that I don't enjoy playing myself! I'd like to see you play theme hospital (not because ConflictNerd started playing it) but it's always been a classic. And also the original Airline Tycoon Evolution Keep up the great content!
`to fix the problem with the orange coaster, cut the launch rail a little bit shorter, increase the speed and connect the launch rail more directly to the station because the reason your fear and excitement averages are so low is because of the abundant stretch of track before the launch rail.
James, I love watching both this channel and TSS, and for me, I think you should play and record whatever makes you happy. I'm on part 35 of City Skylines Seasons 3, and currently watching 2-3 episodes a day. i love it, PC, The Sims, whatever you record, I will watch it regardless.
If you're having fun, we're having fun. I don't think it matters which game you play, I always enjoy each series. I just can't deal with 5 day gaps between uploads!
Since there are no other games, maby you can try diffrend aspects of games that you already played (like a mini natural disasters series). If you don't wand to play those games, it's totaly ok to take a break!
The mountain pathway looked cooler when there was no lights. And it looked cool as you you walked through only seeing the light from the other side. :) love the episode, Do the series the easiest way for you. Your real, genuine fans will not care how you make videos as long as you have videos. :)
On the outside of the white door on the log flume add a wood and timber arch to blend it in with the theme. you may have to extend it out a bit to clear the doors. love what you are doing so far!
I really like these series, partly because of your excitement but also because of the game. If you wouldn't enjoy it, we probably wouldn't either but as for suggestions, maybe try some unknown games? Or just smaller ones because in my opinion they're very interesting to watch. Absolutely loving your recent uploads on thesimsupply tho!!
I loved the fun episode you did with Conflict Nerd on Astroneer. I think doing it whichever way you'll enjoy best, whether that's playing n recording for a couple hours then replying to feedback 3-4 episodes later, or whatever makes you enjoy making the content.
Tropico 5, anno, banished and hello neighbor are pretty cool games too :) and your videos with Zeus where you play over cooked are hilarious:D but take your time, and find your motivation again! Sometimes you just have periods where your motivation vanishes :) hugs from Denmark :D
I'm totally surprised that you're "only" at 500,000 followers on Sim Supply (or even 200,000 on this channel). You're obviously popular enough that the Simgurus gave you a shout out during their Vampires launch live-stream.
James, as I was listening to you talk about why there hasn't been as many videos lately, I kept thinking about the beginning of series. You get so excited and continue an episode for another 10-15 minutes because you just want to do one more thing. The feedback part of your series does help you and is important to you, but that doesn't mean you have to stop playing at around 30 minutes. My suggestion is, you can record for 4-5 hours at a time, if you don't automatically want feedback. I remember some times where you ran out of creative brain power because you'd used so much and asked what should be done next to give you some ideas. In those cases, post the videos and get the feedback.Recording for hours at a time would give you a couple days worth of content, therefore, you don't have to play the same game every single day. You'd get a break from the games that are getting on your nerves. It also makes it possible for you to play the games you are into as much as you'd like. You would have to mention in your recordings that viewers can leave comments and that they wouldn't be taken into account until episode X.Seems to me that a version of that would give you the best of both worlds. You'd make personal you happy while also making professional you happy.Hope this was helpful.
James, I started with your Sim Supply channel and was apprehensive about watching on Flabaliki! I'm glad I came by, though. Now I get twice the content from you.
I know this is a year late (I only just found this series having picked up Planet Coaster again recently) but I think a long live stream is a good way to do it, with live chat on Twitter or Twitch that you can respond to whilst playing; then you can go over the footage and time lapse appropriate bits, chat with the fans and their ideas, and do a segue after the time lapse to say "so and so just told me to do this" or something and go back into full presentation mode ;) Great series, by the way! I wish there was a pub manager game... Sigh...
I feel like it's just really important that you do what makes you happy and what you enjoy, because it really shows to us viewing if you're not enjoying it and we don't enjoy it if you don't! We want to have fun along with you! That's the beauty of watching this kind of video. I mean, also the puns. Lbr, I'm mainly here for the puns, James. (jk jk).
I think I would rather see more new games rather than bulk recording. I think getting feedback is always more useful in the long run than not - in a similar way that it's helpful to, say... have someone read over a paper you write before turning it in. Eventually, it becomes really hard to see the mistakes in your own work when you've looked at it for so long, you know? But ultimately you have to do whatever is going to make you happiest and help you out the most! That's what we all really want - it's no fun to watch someone play a game that makes them miserable! :)
I would tell you to do what you enjoy!! The enjoyment for me is what makes the content entertaining. So batch record. Or not but do what makes you happy. At the end of the day your playing games they should be fun. 👍
Honestly I'd rather watch 6/7 episodes filmed at once without feedback, that you played and enjoyed and really got into, than watch the same episodes but with feedback that you barely played without much motivation. Feedback, to me, isn't important. I like watching your videos for what you do, and if you mess up, well that's part of the fun too. Just find a schedule that you enjoy and we'll enjoy it too :)
My two favourite channels that are similar to Flabiliki are NerdCubed and Northernlion. Both of those guys switch it up between one-off let's plays, and ongoing regular series. The regular series tend to be batch recorded and the one-offs are with regular feedback. I think a mixed format would work well for Flabiliki. SimSupply is more dependent on regular audience participation IMO. A smaller YT channel I love right now is Geekism, and he is small enough to take on the regular feedback (it's not full time YT). Even then, I would prefer he batch record simply to get more content out. I have to admit, I didn't renew my sub to your Twitch because I felt I wanted more content first. Still love all your stuff either way! Aussies represent 🐨
Oh hey, welcome back, I thought you'd died ;) Just kidding...seriously I think it's better to play when you're in the mood for it rather than force yourself to keep to a fixed schedule, as you say it doesn't come across so well if you're doing it when you don't want to !
Martin Arscott though it is his job and in everyone's job there are some things we don't like. he has total control of his job and can pause on a game at anytime.. just can't promise things that he can't do.
Have you maybe tried storybased games? Because it's always more enjoyable if the youtube-creator enjoys making videos. :) And maybe record two-four episode in a row? Suggestions: We Happy Few Last of Us Walking Dead Until Dawn Stonehearth the Long Dark Oxenfree Sally Face Sort the Court Reigns the Final Station Cat President Anarcute Democracy 3 Plague Inc. Papers Please All games I enjoyed, hope maybe this can bring a bit of inspiration :)
You should do a miniseries on that subway planning game! I really wish I could see more of that/smaller, 5-10 episode series. It would probably be easier to handle than massive thousand episode series.
I recently rewatched your Zoo Tycoon 2 let's play which is one of my favorite games. I like the bulk play and then chop method. You could do all of Zoo Tycoon 2's campaign mode like that similarly to RCT3's career mode. I would love to see your progression through the game and see your attempt at the campaign scenarios. It something you've done before, but in a different way. It's up to you though.
had the same problem with the ride not opening and the mechanic stuck at the exit, had to click edit as if i was editing the ride then run a test and it fixed it.
I think the door on the log flume looks kinda weird. What about getting rid of it and putting smoke/fog machines at the exit of the cave, so the riders still can't see the drop until they've gone through the smoke/fog? It's all hazy and then BAM, plummeting down!
Maybe you could try out the long session recordings for a series and see how it goes? I really think you could do with longer time between seasons of series. People who don't watch you for your personality won't like that, but those of us who do will appreciate it since you'll enjoy playing the game after having a longer break from it.
I've always thought that the most enjoyable content to watch, is the content that the creator enjoys playing. I haven't seen the end of the cities skylines series, but if at some point I watched it and I felt that "your heart wasnt into it" then I would almost lose interest. Its just such a different experience, when the creator is having fun, instead of watching something that feels forced.
I think you should just do it the way you want to. The thing with the feedback sucks but just for the time until you find motivation again and until you get back to doing things normal, I see nothing wrong with just recording seven hours of a game you actually enjoy and then splitting it into episodes. As long as you're happy and as long as you don't get annoyed with certain games too much. We'll all be here either way. :)
Perhaps making an entire series or a lot of episodes at a time (like 7, as you mentioned as a reference) would be a little overkill.. But if you're still interested in having the feedback and also gaining more time between recording, you could record about 3-4 episodes at a time, or/and include more speed builds in your series (personally those are some of my faves, you tend to wander off in your topics during those, but also explaining parts of what is going on). That way the feedback also happens, just in bigger chunks. If all series worked in a similar way/on a similar schedule, you could still get the feedback and take it into account when making the next episodes. Just a suggestion, but really the main thing is, that you have to enjoy and have a system that you enjoy it. Honestly whatever you do, it's going to be great content, so do what works for you. Different games sounds great too btw.
Hey James, how close are you to Queensland? I've been looking into going to school at UQ... Any info from a local? Also, what was the charity at the beginning for?
James is from Sydney, which is in state of New South Wales.. I'm assuming the school is in Brisbane?? I think that is like a 12 hour drive from Sydney.. So he is not really local.
Yeah, it's in Brisbane. Wow haha I never realized how far Sydney and Brisbane are! I know AUS is comparable to the US in size, but I thought Brisbane and Sydney were closer than that! Thanks for letting me know tho... And forgetting me know he's from Sydney haha
Might Heracros Yeah, Queensland and New South Wales are huge states compared to typical USA states... so yeah, there's quite a bit distance between those 2 cities.
James please put more focus into this series, we all love it. I religiously watch both channels, and this is the one series I am most excited about. Although it is great to have a lot of content over on The Sim Supply, I think the majority of us prefer to see an equal amount of each series. But ultimately we like to see content you're passionate about because if you're enjoying making it, it's going to show.
Wouldn't it be awesome to make the orange coaster an indoor one with loads of sci-fi decor? :O If you want, you can make the building enormous and have the other coaster go on top of it. Also, I love your videos! It's always good content and it doesn't bother me that they aren't that frequent. Please like so Flabs sees it ;)
To how much you play/upload depends on how the game is. For creative games it can be quite annoying for a watcher (and yourself) to find a error in your design when it's uploaded. If you do for example make 3 episodes of 1 single gameplay we have to wait 3 episodes complaining about a mistake before it's fixed. But for example lets Tomb Raider or Skyrim. There it could be usefull. Since you aren't quickly making design mistakes people point you at. And if you are really stuck you can always turn to us.
In the blank spot in the log flume you could put the broken boat bow sticking up out of the ground. Maybe put some water there with fire and water shooting out of the boat. 😎
Hey James. I'm a subscriber to your Twitch, and YT TheSimsSupply and of course here. It makes perfect sense you would lose interest or motivation with games. Sometimes games get so repetitive they start to lose their appeal. So I believe it's good to take a break and try something new. Having a nice rotation of different things kind of keeps things fresh(ish). IMHO
The Sim Supply! I thought you were familiar, but I briefly looked through your channel and couldn’t find any other videos I thought I had seen. Mystery solved, and now I know I’m not crazy.
So wild watching this is 2023 with the sims releasing toddlers in James’s timeline and right now the sims just released infants
You should do an indoor coaster for the sci-fi area. An alien invasion theme or a technology lab theme or something.
Oh thank god! Im sick and have nothing to do, now i can watch 40 minutes of Flabaliki.
Jonas Broch I'm also sick 😢

a reverse banked coaster would be a really cool addition to your park.

maybe stream all your gameplay for the 2 weeks you play it. and than cut the streams up into eposides. So you still get feedback from the stream.

Fun little game: take a shot every time James says 'basically'
This it strange that I subscribed to both of his channels because it's voice is so smooth and joyful?
The exact distraction I was hoping for... thank you!!
Have you maybe tried storybased games? Because it's always more enjoyable if the youtube-creator enjoys making videos. :) And maybe record two-four episode in a row?
Suggestions:
We Happy Few
Last of Us
Walking Dead
Until Dawn
Stonehearth
the Long Dark
Oxenfree
Sally Face
Sort the Court
Reigns
the Final Station
Cat President
Anarcute
Democracy 3
Plague Inc.
Papers Please
All games I enjoyed, hope maybe this can bring a bit of inspiration :)
didn't mean to make it sound like, it's only enjoyable to play storybased games :D oops.
M. Laitinen Life is strange to
YES! :D
You should do a miniseries on that subway planning game! I really wish I could see more of that/smaller, 5-10 episode series. It would probably be easier to handle than massive thousand episode series.
James, there are other lights in the "building" section, it has an area light which is very good for ambient lighting.
Also I really wish you could do more Minecraft with Deli! I miss that series so much!
Yay finally another episode I might have gone mad if I had to wait another day
I recently rewatched your Zoo Tycoon 2 let's play which is one of my favorite games.
The windmill would go great in that vacant spot by the western coaster. The windmill could be powering the ride.
i kind of liked the wind pump in the blank area where the water ride is!
You should play old school Sierra city building games like Pharaoh or Caesar III. Those games are a lot of fun.
wish you did more of these videos bruh. love this series
giant rustic/frontier water tower that's bursting at the seams and spraying water down? for the log flume set piece.
You could put like a lumber mill or something in that middle area of the log flume
On the log flume around the back at the view, you should add some stalagmites. Kind of open cave-esc.
You could build a custom log cabin for that empty space
As long as there is constant theme park simulators then I am happy
For letting*
Please like so Flabs sees it ;)
The mechanic is in the sci-fi area, he's probably got shoes that let him float or something.
You could add an old fashioned saw mill in the empty space with blades that come close to hitting the riders
And if you are really stuck you can always turn to us.
will you try and do this game more often
In the video opening speech, you say the word "basically" so much, that It could almost be a drinking game ! ^^
IMHO
In the log flume area, where you were debating scenery you should build a fire watch tower!
The Sim Supply! I thought you were familiar, but I briefly looked through your channel and couldn’t find any other videos I thought I had seen. Mystery solved, and now I know I’m not crazy.
how much do you charge entry fee for the rides?
