- This new mechanic of sculk spreading is very new and I decided to so some satisfying tests on how it's spreading works.

You know, a command block wouldve been way more efficient.
Also ravagers are the better choice because of how much xp they give
yes, I'm considering doing a part two, in which I plan to use command blocks and more heavy-duty mobs.
I guess the better choice would be the piglin brutes.
This is similar to what I tried. First I used zombie spawners.
Then I used a repeating command block to summon vindicators and let them sofficate.
Finally I used 5 repeating command blocks in a plus formation. 4 where used to spawn withers. The one in the middle was used to kill withers. Slap a lever on it and let skulk spread.
Truee
@@vidara6093 if you spawn raw xp it won't be used by the catalyst, it needs to be a mod death
The sculk almost creates a mini-biome if nurtured for long enough. players can further extend the corruption by placing more catalysts, which can be obtained by killing the warden or harvesting catalysts directly. It's pretty cool how one block created an entire miniature biome.
5:44 dude thpught u jus got owned by n entotty didnt c u typen the kill command😂
I agree with you
Honestly, even if you don't wanna make farms, just yeeting xp potions or voluntarily dying will still allow growth, as the only thing needed is raw xp.
@@WillowTitov how bout xp command u think thatid work if tpd or soawned ona catalyst🤔
The skulk reminds me of a more complex form of corruption from terraria. Instead of just spreading it feeds on the death of mobs in order to create more of itself. My assumption is in a more realistic approach to this the warden adapted to the skulk to interact with it. I think the skulk would probably be something like a fungus that spreads over ground feeding on dead things to spread, and the warden evolved to kill in order to spread its territory. It can’t see because of the depths it lives in.
Not rlly more complex skulk only got one mob compared to the vast array of mobs bosses and loot from the corruption/crimson
@@bigjimmy3792 I mean as far as the spreading mechanisms go though, the corruption and crimson are pretty simple
@@bioboss8369 true but they do tend to become more of a threat then sculk, say you see a sculk biome in your world its not like its gonna actually spread to you
unless you did it yourself
It would be awesome if there was a gamemode where the skulk grows all over the overworld at a steady pace, mobs who are caught in the skulk become corrupted, examine skeletons with skulk growing all over it, and the arrows it shoots can get you infected. Passive mobs become hostile, and hostile mobs even become more hostile and strong.
Whoops, didn’t mean to reply lol
your pretty much describing PARASITE MODE
The way skulk works could make for an *awesome* "desecrated ground" mechanic that spreads as living things die and summons undead mobs.
edit: I feel like the normal mobs should avoid skulk as much as they can.
That sounds super awesome!
@@BonanzaCraftMC I'm gonna steal it for D&D lol. Merge it with Dwarf Fortress's evil biomes. Gonna be fun.
@@5peciesunkn0wn Ooo I can just imagine the pcs fighting the warden in a fortress covered in death and decay
Oh yeah that sounds fun, ive bever heard of that in d&d but it still sounds fun
its so hilarious to watch how an alien fungi is growing out of the dead corpses of thousands of victims being massacred with this upbeat music
yes, I agree, the irony is extrem.
you can use repeating command blocks to do this
how to do it:
1 get the repeating command block
2 Put in " summon minecraft:ravager ~-2 ~110 ~2 "
3 put it on " always active " your choice
4 thats it!
Thanks! I'm thinking about doing a part two soon so that will definitely be useful.
@@BonanzaCraftMC thanks
No make it piglin brutes they give off 21 skulk
Setting a repeating command block on always active and summon a mob is a suicide unless the mobs die immitdieatly.
@@ThatCzechGuy agreed.
Really cool vid but I have one thing to say: I think you should be using command blocks to spawn in stuff
I did think of that but I know basically nothing about command blocks, it might be a fun thing to do in a part two though!
@@BonanzaCraftMC Do this.
Both always active, repeating command blocks
1. Summon (Mobname)
2. Kill (Mobname)
duh, how is he going to get spawn eggs
Fix for 2.. 2. Kill @e [type=(Mobname)]
@@heatherrukvina5499 creative mode
i like the detail of how it spreads out in veins...
cool!
can you do a "reclaiming the world" and just corrupt the entire/most of the world? :o
I was just scrolling through on this account I almost never use and for some reason this video just popped up in my feed. W video fr. Deserves 1Mil Likes.
Whew, seeing this really makes the sculk feel like a vanilla-mc flavored Taint from thaumcraft.
Man, do i miss that mod updating...
Try using piglin brutes next time, they generate way more skulk.
Omg thanks so much! I can’t use command blocks so thanks for showing me a contraption to somewhat make it! Couldn’t thank you more.
no problem (:
As soon as the sculk started spreading I instantly thought of when the vibrianium meteor crashed onto earth in the MCU from the Black Panther movie. Anyone else think that?
Forget finding the DeepDark.
We going to create it.
yes
Alternate title.
Feeding my pet Skulk Catalyst 11,520 Guardians
If you want to kill only 1 type of entity, just type in this command : /kill @e [type=enderman]
so that's how you do it, this command stuff is mostly new to me since I primarily play survival.
If you hold ctrl while middle mouse clicking you can copy the inside of the dispenser.
Man this looks so cool
Villagers: IT’S THE END TIMES! THE APOCALYPSE HAS BEGUN!
Mambo I believe did a good farm for this. Cobble generator being pushed by pistons first to the kill site then stacked up next to the area eventually making a giant shulk box
repeat | always active command block: am I a joke to you?
lol
0:03 for a second i thought that those were giant versions of the blocks
lol, I can see how you thought that lol.
I’d love it if you could charge a sculk Catalyst then place it in front of a slime stone machine n effectively sculk bomb someone’s base also it would be cooler if it infected mobs and grew more fungus stuff
No mobs were harmed in the making of this video
exactly
my guy really using TheFatRat music, respect
/gamerule doWeatherCycle false
/gamerule doDaylightCycle false
Helpful commands, there are options for these gamerules when creating the world aswell.
Another good one is:
/gamerule doMobSpawning false
That gets rid of natural mob spawns, (while allowing mobs to spawn via spawn eggs or command's)
/gamerule doMobLoot false
May be good in this case (authough I don't know if it affects XP)
dayum this is a banger and it did kind of popped off so good job man! 4k likes way deserved
thx bro!
I thought I remember it creating Catalysts and Shriekers. I guess not.
It should create shreikers but this snapshot was bugged, it wouldn't make catalysts but the shreikers were missing.
@@BonanzaCraftMC That’s odd. So it’s meant to have Shriekers, but not Catalysts? I guess that makes sense because otherwise the Sculk could spread infinitely far. It would be fun to mess with though.
Some ideas:
It’d be so cool if any mob that stayed on skulk for too long became Slulk-ified and hostile to the player. Imagine a pack of sulk wolves or skulk pigs with blue eyes and rotting flesh chasing and attacking you (would also apply to tamed animals)
Skulked water should also be a thing, if the player drinks it it has the same effect as eating rotten flesh
The whole concept of a proper skulk biome with unique trees and plants and ore too. Also some kind of skulk pollen from the plants that can be thrown and generates a patch of skulk
This video is like 3 months old now so not sure if you figured it out or if someone already commented this, but the red particles on the sculk sensor is redstone particles. That particle also appears on other things that have to do with redstone, like levers.
yes, someone else already commented that but thanks for the thought, you phrased it in a much more polite way than the other person.
Here’s a suggestion, using shaders on sculk looks amazing!
that's true, I made a part two a while back where I used shaders.
They can actually get infinitely big the thing is eventually they stop spreading out and fill all the blocks inside of them first so it takes more xp
And this, my folks, is how we’re gonna make Plague Inc in Minecraft 1.19
yes, indeed
the red particle is the redstone, you can see the same particle when you turn on a lever
This is satisfying and terrifying at the same time
The mountain range and valley at 11:03 looks amazing, what is the world seed and the co-ords of the mountains?
Sorry, I don't know what the seed was, I found a way cooler mountain in my more resent video, if you want to see it.

This is what happens when you place a sculk catalysts near mob farm
Here's me terrified of sculc spreading and trying to remove it from my world and then there's people like BonanzaCraft who just want to see the world turn to sculc
ahh well, I bet that you'll be fine just so long as you don't pour hundreds of guardians all over a catalyst 😄
@@BonanzaCraftMC Knowing my luck I'll spread the plague across my world by dying hundreds of times near one lol
@@DerpyDooReviews let's hope not lol
Looks like armstrongs nanomachines
For future reference, if you need to kill a crowd of specific mobs without killing yourself, use the command */kill @e[type=x]* where x is replaced with the name of the mob you want to kill (e.g. enderman, ender_dragon, zombie, etc). Alternatively, if you need to clear ALL entities except for yourself, you can use /kill @e[type=!player]
I wish they did more with sculk corruption. It would be pretty cool if it could infect mobs.
agreed, although if they did it poorly it would probably end up being confusing and lame, but if they did a good job on it, it would have been pretty awesome.
if you look at a dispenser, then hold ctrl, and middle mouse click, then you get the dispenser AND ITS CONTENTS, no need to fill it up ever again, just place it and its full (this works with text on signs too!)
Oh yeah, I know that you can do that, but it never has occurred to me that I could have sped things up during this video by using that mechanic.
@@BonanzaCraftMC oh okay, I forgot about that trick for about a year myself before I found it in a video again .-.
next time my friend griefs me, I will spread the corruption to his base underground
sounds like a plan.
This was actually pretty interesting
I have a survival world where I have been trying to spread skulk from a basement area under my house
I love it that every time he does a time lapse he puts the song time lapse on
I hypothesize that the skulk *seems* to reach a limit because as it spreads, it does so more often underground where it's not visible. It spreads in 3D through solid ground, not just on exposed surfaces. Thus, it follows the geometric laws of expanding spheres: the farther away from the source it expands, the exponentially longer it'll take to spread. And therefore, you'll see it spread on the surface less often.
Can someone test this theory out?
if this answers your question, the sculk only affects the top layer of ground. You can see this at 2:53 because the roof and right side of the cave haven't been "sculked" even though, on the surface, that area was corrupted. Also, if I had broken the top layer of blocks at any point there would have been stone or dirt underneath, if you want to learn more about how it works, my snapshot series could give you a pretty good idea.
@@BonanzaCraftMC Okay 👀
I would have hooked them up to hoppers connected to shulker boxes full of spawn eggs, so it would last much longer.
Also pistons so I could just flip a switch to the entire thing on or off, instead of breaking and placing the observers each time.
Has any sculk shriekers spawn bc it takes 100 mobs for a sculk shrieker to spawn by one sculk catalist
I want to try and corrupt an entire forest in survival...somehow...
to reduce lag turn off mobloot and tier drops
oh, smart. That would be a pretty elegant solution.
Is there no command to spread sculk? Would seem like a developmental oversight if they didn’t have one.
Also, would have been nicer if you just stuck to the music discs throughout.
My Recommendation: Use Ravager or Piglin Brute (cause they spread more sculk even better, but do not recommend wither tho, cause that could destroy your hardwork upon its surrondings.)
New biome, deep villages🤩🤩🤩
I’m gonna make a copy of one of my survival worlds and corrupt it
Congratulations you created a sculck😂
Use ravagers they drop more xp so it will spread more
We put it in a guardian farm. It spreads really fast!
Piglin Brutes also drop the same amount of xp
Oh
Nice! And the easy way to get rid of ground items Is just typing /kill@e[type=item] that's easier and faster to get rid of any items that have been dropped on the ground
Cool, thanks! I'm not that good with commands to that's useful information.
@@BonanzaCraftMC everyone learns at some point ! I've been playing Minecraft for many years, so I call myself a veteran lol and it's so fun showing/teaching others playing about various things that they might not know.
5:02 It Might Have Grown Into Caves.
LES GOOO THEFATRAT MUSIC!!!
I need to find a 1 hour version of this
Satisfying!
Very!
No it is not harder, you simply let it go down in the ground and corrupt caves.
If you were to have it on a flat world it would spread a lot lot more on the surface.
If there was a remove all blocks except sculk command, you’d be able to see how deep it went.
I with the skulking would corrupt the tress
Maybe next time you could test it on structures like stronghold, fortress, pillager building...
Did you know different mob types do a different amount of skulk growth. As far as I know, piglin brutes do the most
Ravagers do more, but piglin brutes are up there
@@benkrajniak9584 oh ok

I think the reason the first one did nto spread that far bec it was spreading underground
that might explain it.
I like the worlds is sculk
10:10 link n ender rain woop woop woop woop😂
Actually you use half pig half man mob and if you kill it on sculk it will spread more
I can tell this guy is gonna be big one day

Sculkupption.
Dude this is cool
bro were actually twins oml, you said
That was satisfying. JUST as I did, the same voice too, lol, if you played the 2 voices together, you couldn't tell the difference
also u use TheFatRat music, nice choice.
that's pretty crazy alright.
Should’ve used elder guardian or ravagers but still cool vid
that is a cool idea! for most of the time I just randomly clicked something in my inventory. lol
That's so cool!
It's reminded me of The Upside Down in Stranger Things
You think you could code this to make drawings without mods just Command blocks? I've seen my brother do something like it
I'm sure I couldn't, but I'm also sure that there are people talented enough out there that could probably pull something like that off.
I literally can’t concentrate on what you are saying you’ve got stunning look jesus
Terraria got 2 corruptions biomes and minecraft got 1
you should’ve used piglins because they give the most out of skulk
piglin brute spreads more
So it's basically 1 chunk per
Do the same with piglin brutes lol
Nice video 👍
Why it's so many of sculk use a guardians ?
Kinda reminds me of the taint from thaumcraft if I remember correctly
What if there was a mod where it spread infinitely and if you touch it you die and do survival with it too see how long they can survive
Can you try piglin brutes I think they make more sculk per death
Why hasnt a sculk shrieker spawned last time I did this sculk shriekers were everywhere along with sculk sensers
because this video was recorded in a snapshot where there was a bug that caused shriekers to be unable to spawn
Oh
What blocks do you use
Am I the only one who sees an upside down ( stranger things ) from the sculk?
Why it pulsating?
Where is The shrieker
YOO DID ANYONE SEE THAT STRAY WITH GOLDEN ARMOR!?!?!?
no, what time did it happen at?
Ima try this too but with a summon command block
that would probably work better than my system to be honest.
