Thank you for showing us how to make the paper flowers. They are quite expensive and to put them in the diffuser instead of the sticks. It looks more pretty. Thank you again.
Mary, the peonies are gorgeous! What a great idea to put them in a diffuser! I enjoyed making peony bouquets for my mom and daughter in the past. I tried dipping the inner filter middles in diluted pink food coloring, graduating the color, then drying. It was a lot of extra time but was pleased with the outcome. Thank you for all your inspiring crafts you present in your videos!🌺
Besides the calm presence your voice brings into the busy bustling world commanding us to slow down and honor beauty I am also lulled into each of your choiced authors illusions of heaven. Thank you so much for what you do. Love your craft this time. Can't wait to make with my daughter.
Mary, Thank you from Maine. I wish I could send you a bouquet of my peonies. I have been growing them for 40 years here. Over those years the bloom time has moved up from the last week in June to the second week in June. They love our cold winters to hibernate and our sandy soil. I lived by the sea for 32 years and had hundreds of blossoms. I donated them for 6 years to a fashion show I chaired each June. I have since moved from that home about 5 miles from the sea. I started all over 12 years ago and have hundreds again. It is a labor of love for my husband who cares for these beautiful plants so that we can enjoy them and share with my friends here. They bring such joy to everyone. And I believe they are a favorite to so many as well. Thank you again.
You must have a magic touch and I'm jealous! I've seen some peony bushes grow as tall as the side of a house. That always amazes me. The climate in Wilmington is okay for rhododendrons but not peonies. There is just something happy about a peony!
It's so easy. I was a kindergarten teacher for almost 20 years and we did this craft for Mother's Day. I cut the center hole and we didn't use hot glue, but they could do everything else. ✂️🌸
That was a wonderful video, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don’t have the deep pockets of Miss Campbells clients but antique finds here and there at amazing shops have yielded the desired effects over the years. Imagination and good fabrics always work wonders. Thank you Mary.
I understand not having deep pockets. Some of my favorite antiques were found by the curb waiting to be disposed of. Some needed to be refinished and some just needed cleaning. For some reason, I am not embarrassed to inspect a discarded piece of furniture, as it could be a treasure just waiting to be saved..
I did order the Roses Forever for my daughter’s Mother’s Day gift. Thank you for the code. It was easy to order. I loved the review of Nina Campbell’s book “ A House In Maine” I wish her a happy birthday. She can celebrate tomorrow when King Charles Coronation is celebrated. Mary, I love your peonies. I am going to try it with my 10 year old grandson who is more artistic than me. Thank you for great idea. Happy Kentucky Derby weekend. Cheers. 💕💕💕
Thank you! I’m so excited about both events! It’s going to be a full weekend. I made “coronation quiche” yesterday. It was delicious. I hope you and your grandson enjoy the craft.
Mary so very beautiful peonies. They look real !! Will give it a try. Liked this book a lot. Great review. Especially liked her using lilac/lavender/pink together. Pillows are very pretty as well as everything else. Your chair's in aquamarine upholstery are stunning. Thanks for sharing.
I thought the flowers looked real as well. The chairs are a cream Fortuny fabric and I'm so nervous about preserving them that I drape an aquamarine blanket down the center of them making it look like upholstery. This way I don't get nervous if my cat decides to nap there.
Hi Mary, Lovely book! These are the colors I have in my house. I barely ever see people using purples/lavender. Such beautiful spaces! Love the peonies you made I think I'm going to give this a try. They look very pretty on your table. Thank you for sharing!
This was a magnificent homestead. It almost felt overwhelming that this was one property. When we begin construction on a bowling alley, a squash court or a speak easy, this will be a great resource guide!
Thank you for the flower tutorial! I am definitely going to be making some of those. They're beautiful! Also, I love your channel content, and your voice is so soothing. 😊❤👏
My initial curiosity in Nina Campbell no doubt was our shared name. Then I fell I love with her talent as one of the supreme interior designers. Thank you Mary for your paper flower tutorial. Only you could elevate the skill set and the sophistication to surpass the over saturation of videos.
Beautiful home. It’s what I wish my interior looked like. I remember hearing about and seeing articles about Nina. The rooms aren’t over cluttered and just right. The violet and white decor is my favorite.
Beautiful video, I enjoyed many Veranda magazines over the years so really liked the book you shared. Thankyou for the walk around your lovely garden, have a great week.
I’ve planted Hydrangeas in every house we’ve owned, this is our 7th ( buy old houses to fix up and resale). This summer we are supposed to move to our “Retirement” House. A little 2bdr Victorian Cottage on the most historic beautiful brick street. (our renter is leaving). Long way of saying….My husband had made me Promise No Hydrangeas. 😞. He said they are “Water Gluttons”. 😂. I’ll try, but not sure I’ll stick to that promise. 🤭
A Victorian Cottage sounds dreamy. Many of my hydrangea are underneath a canopy of well established trees and this does help them retain moisture. I bet you’ll be able to find a perfect spot for 1 or 2. 😉
....you should tell him that you just need one (1) Hydrangea bush to keep your Garden Soul young at heart in your retirement years! (Then eacn year you can feed and alternate your color from Blue to Pink!) Good Luck!
Thank you thank you….I just love Nina Campbell…..every comforter I have was made by her …..Steinmart is closed so I can’t get her stuff…..your voice is beautiful and so calming…..I can’t hardly wait for the next video…..it’s so nice not to hear UM every other word by these people….your home is gorgeous….I can’t wait to make the peony…..I bought one from qvc but it didn’t make it….guess it’s too hot in Georgia……my birthday is May 8….just turned 70…..thank you again from carolyn in Columbus GA
Mary, what another beautiful video you’ve done! I was so excited when you gave the instructions on how to make the peony. I am going to make that this weekend. Thank you so much. Love your style.
New sub to your channel, from this video. Beautiful book from Nina Campbell. She and Bunny Williams are my favourite designers. Your home is beautiful too, and the paper peony tutorial a fabulous bonus to your video. Thank you!. I will enjoy watching your other videos.
Your peonies came out beautiful! I am going to try to make them! I love that you place them in a diffuser! Thank you for the review and the peony paper craft!
Hello Mary, I enjoyed the book and loved your craft project!! The peonies almost fooled me!! I will definitely be trying to make these! I had beautiful Peonies in my New Jersey garden however I am now living in Florida and gardening is not the same! Thank you again for an interesting video and I will see you in the next one! Hugs! :)
Isn't it difficult to acclimate your gardening preferences from one zone to another. I could grow wonderful peonies in Raleigh, NC and that's just 130 miles from Wilmington, NC. When I lived on the water (the ocean was our front yard) that was tough. The salt air and aphids were murder on my little garden. Take care 💗
Beautiful book, the house was gorgeous ! I keep saying that I am going to try the coffee filter flowers the brilliant idea of putting them in the diffuser I believe sold me on them. Thanks 💜
Hello Miss Mary - wow another great video. Ms. Campbell's book is fantastic and I appreciate your tour of it - always perfect of course. Your flowers are absolutely beautiful! I would like to ask about your sea urchin container by the scent bottle - could you tell me about its makeup and where one might purchase a similar one? Thanks for your videos - never stop please!
I purchased this several years ago from a website called Mrs. Alice. It is a white and gold porcelain urchin trinket box. There is no mark on the bottom. I quickly looked on eBay and didn't see one. A google search might be more successful. I hope you find one. Thanks for watching.
Sending Happy Mother's Day Greetings ! Thank you for the quick tutorial of the Peoney, also one of my favorite flowers. What is the scent and bottle you put them into? Loved the book you chose for us. What a lovely home in Maine.
The fragrance is called Pink Jasmine and it’s a diffuser by Pottery Barn. They sell several really nice scents (the lavender is on sale and one of my favorites). Thanks for watching.
@@thetartantopiary Many thanks Mary. I just love re-watching your vlogs. They are so relaxing and informative. Always so well crafted and professional featuring timeless classic interiors and gardens. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into your vlogs.
🙋♀️ Oh Mary, thank you for the coffee filter peony tutorial! I've tried to watch other videos, but they are so long. Evidently I have the attention span of a gnat. I believe I have all the supplies and will try a peony creation. I'll need to check on the important item, coffee filters! We don't drink coffee so I have a French press for guests. I do use coffee filters to buff the taps. Taps, yes, the Romans installed our plumbing. I have many buds on my blush pink peonies and one is open. It's beautiful! Whew, sorry so long!😊
This is a lovely book, your peony tutorial was wonderful and I can’t wait to try making them. Diffuser sticks what a great idea! Did you watch the coronation? All the flowers were sourced from local British growers and designed by the same floral designer that has created florals for many royal events. After the coronation the flowers were being broken down into small arrangements and taken to hospitals and nursing facilities 🌺 Your hydrangea are beautiful. I love them also and have several in my garden.
This review and what John Fowler said makes me realize I don’t know what the “correct night stand height” is. Would that be the table top should be the same height as the mattress top? And for that matter, how tall should lamps be on the bedside? I always just eyeball it, it if looks right it’s right..that not being the same as feels right or is correct. ☺️
I feel that I must say this. As a reviewer, I only feature about 30 pages of a book and I didn't even get into the garden photos. I am glad, however, that I provided information to you that was of value. 👍
I have tried to figure that out. The book says nothing in much detail about the owners. The cove, however, does remind me of Walker's Point in Kennebunkport. One of the monogrammed pillows had W as the last name initial and another bed linen was monogrammed with "DC". It's a mystery wrapped in a quandary.
I was born and raised in the State of Maine and spent forty-nine years of my life there and thisn is extremely unrealistic! It looks like a picture for Better Himes and Gardens! Move to California!
In the book she refers to herself as “English” as she was born and raised on Sloane Street in London, England. I don’t know much about her personally, I was just relaying what was presented in the book. Thanks for the additional information.
Thank you for showing us how to make the paper flowers. They are quite expensive and to put them in the diffuser instead of the sticks. It looks more pretty. Thank you again.
Thanks- the first time I made these flowers I was shocked at how authentic they looked.
Thank you for this one and the flowers are just wonderful! thanks for posting this.
Happy Friday, Joan! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for sharing ❤️😊 Love the flower arrangements, beautiful ❤️❤️ Beautiful home and tour ❤❤
Lovely video, and lovely flowers. The flowers are the prettiest Diffuser representation I've seen! Thanks for such gracious living ideas.
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate that. They really do look nice.
Thank you for the flower demonstration and a peek into the beautiful design work of Nina Campbell.

So very creative Mary!
Thanks, the flowers are so easy to make. I appreciate you watching.
Nina Campbell is what the universe gives us when it is showing off...
A lovely visit. Thank you 🌷
Thank you for watching.
So nice to see Color! Im so tired of seeing nothing but .... WHITE! Love the flowers! Thank you, Mary!
Thanks for watching- I will have to say the color was refreshing. Now, I want to use lavender somewhere.

Thank you for sharing the flower diy. I love the idea of attaching the flowers to the diffuser reeds! So cleaver and beautiful!
Thank you, if the reeds are short they really do look nice with one or two flowers attached to them.
What a beautiful idea ❤❤
Thank you what a good idea putting the flowers on a fragrance diffuser.

Lovely- as are all your videos ( they match your soothing voice).
Paper peonies came out beautifully.
What were the pink paper flowers made from?
You are so kind, thank you. The pink flowers were made from tissue paper - the kind used for gift wrapping.

If you put a big bucket of ice in your peonies in the winter, they will bloom. I grew them in California!

Honestly this is a very very to much pick color ,is not good at all!!!
