Fears of wider regional conflict after Israel, Hezbollah exchange fire

After Israel and Hezbollah exchanged heavy fire on Sunday (Aug 25) over the killing of a senior commander in Beirut, both sides said they are not seeking a full-scale war.
Barin Kayaoğlu, Associate Professor of World History at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani and non-resident scholar at the Middle East Institute, says the region is “on the cusp” of a wider conflict.
