    Got to say, that waterfall was stunning, as was the walk up to Simon's Seat. Interesting background on the naming of the area and a canny few photos you got as well. Must admit, I am a fan of cider and what a place to sink a few, stunning scenery all around and the night skies, just breathtaking. Cracking watch, cheers Alan

      Andrew Beavers - thanks for the name of the waterfall, watched this again with Mrs Metalman this morning and she is wanting to do this walk and visit the waterfall. Was there a carpark at the bridge you parked at or was it just a pull in? Cheers Alan

    • @AndrewBeavers
      @AndrewBeavers  6 лет назад

      Hi Alan yes there's free parking at barden bridge but it's not exactly a car park as such more of a pull in at the side of the road room for 10/12 cars maybe.from there though it is like a 2 mile walk down to the point where you head off up the valley to the waterfall although it is a lovely walk through the strid woods.alternatively there's pay & display at Bolton Abbey estate where there are toilets & nice tea rooms,can concur they are nice too me & my Mr's have had lunch there..from there you cross over the wooden bridge take a left along the edge of the river then head to your'e right through the gates & you will pick up the sign posts for the valley of desolation.the waterfall isn't sign posted but you will hear it & as you walk along there's an opening & there's a path that drops down to the left,cross over a small wooden bridge follow the path & to the waterfall..hope this is helpful & enjoy your'e visit..

    I know that area well, think its one of the best view points in the Dales for a 360 view, one of those places you can go up in every season and something different to see. It looked quiet, very popular walk up there, can get mobbed at weekends. Nice one, cheers.

    Great video and one of my favourite walks! There's a decent extension to the Simon's Seat walk that goes through Trollers Gill and back over the hill to the main pub in Appletreewick before heading along the Wharfe back to Barden Bridge

    Another excellent video Andy. Love those clear stary nights, although they certainly can lead to a lack of sleep :-) Saw a beauty of a shooting star myself over the weekend as I was about to hit the hay, so naturally I spent the next 45 minutes sitting outside my tent hoping to spot another! Thanks for sharing, cheers, Brendan
