    Man... I didn't understand why we had to draw w1 and w2 even after 3 teachers explained it to me. After u said "u need to RESOLVE" I immediately understood. As physics teachers I think they should at least mention the important terms. I guess it's just that they are.... badd....Very bad

      The angle between the vertical and the line perpendicular to the slope is always equal to theta (the angle of the slope, (which in this case is 35 degrees).

    Hey, I came here to find out how you know where in the triangle theta goes, and I still don't understand, since it wasn't explained in the vid ("because of geometry"). Anyone able to explain? Thanks

    • @nkanyisongcobo5811
      @nkanyisongcobo5811 6 лет назад +6

      Consider the fact that the parallel component (W1) makes the angle theta with the horizontal. If we extend the horizontal beyond the weight force, then we can add up the sum of the angles on a straight line (180 deg). The weight force makes an angle of 90 deg with the horizontal, leaving the remaining angle as 90 deg subtract theta (angles on a straight line). This last angle is also the angle between the weight force and W1 in the vector triangle diagram. The sum of the angles in a triangle = 180 deg. Therefore, the remaining angle, which is the angle between W and W2, must be equal to theta.
      I hope that helps. I wish I could have drawn a diagram

    Hey just a question, in your last example you resolved the force by multiplying it by sine but you did not do that for weight (multiplying by cos)? You resolved the force parallel to the plane so why did you not do the weight perpendicular to the plane too?

    • @succubusangel974
      @succubusangel974 6 лет назад

      If the question made it clear that there was a positive and negative direction then I would make it negative, but normally I would just leave it as the exact same number. In my experience, questions are really asking for the magnitude of friction and don't care about the direction. (But don't quote me on that, I don't know what specification you're using so it could be different.)

    • @succubusangel974
      @succubusangel974 6 лет назад +2

      You need to know that, in a right-angled triangle, sin(x) = o/h, and cos(x) = a/h. (There's no special reason why these equations are correct - the definition of sin and cos comes from these equations, so you can't really derive them.)

      Greetings, are you interested in learning about and living for the saviour Jesus who can save your soul from Eternal Hell torment on Judgment day? If not don't read further. Are we the people still putting our trust in temporary things such as money, riches, pleasures of this world, politicians ect which cannot save us from Hell torment on Judgment day? Now is the time to put our trust instead on the eternal God which never dies rather than on temporary money and riches which get old and perish? Are we interested in living fully for our creator rather than being deceived and serving ourselves as our own god? If me and you aren't and want to continue putting our trust in perishable items and riches that cannot save us from Hell on Judgment day please let us not read any further.
      Originally man lived in pure happiness with God in Paradise but we sinned by disobeying God by eating fruit from the forbidden tree, because of this we were thrown out of Paradise and onto this earth, as we stubbornly found pleasure in eating from the forbidden tree although there were better trees to eat from in the Garden of Eden. God loves us so much that he made a way for us to enter back into paradise by sending his only son Jesus to die for our sins so that he can give us eternal life and save us from death and eternal punishment in Hell. Here is a pray that you and others can say to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour.
      Father in Heaven I receive your son Jesus as my Lord and saviour, I confess my sins and I ask you to forgive me for all my sins, wash and cleanse me and everything pertaining to me with the blood of your son Jesus and wash away all my spots, blemishes and wrinkles with the blood of your son Jesus. Father God in Heaven fill me with your Holy spirit every moment of my life and give me infinite oil for my spiritual lamps. I forgive and release all those who have done me wrong and I ask you to bless them and write my name permanently in the lambs book of life in Heaven in Jesus name I pray amen.
      Here is another pray to break curses and bind demons in our lives.
      Father God in Heaven I break and loose myself and my family from all curses going all the way back to Adam and Eve and I bind every demon and demonic influence in my life and in my family life permanently in Jesus name. I command all demons in my life and in my family life and those around me to leave and never return in Jesus name. Father God send your legions of Angels to fight for me until the end and send your ministering angels to keep ministering to me and always guide and protect me from all evil, I command Satan to get thee behind me and all of Gods creatures in Jesus name I pray amen.
      Pray always and study the KJV Bible to know more about Jesus and God's plan for our lives. Live a fully obedient life to God every moment of your life, no matter what Satan may throw against us continue to obey God's voice rather than Satan. Jesus bless you. Please pass on this message.
