I passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and worked as a licensed public Secondary English teacher with the Department of Education (DepEd) from 2013 to 2019. Since then, I have been an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Japan.
I am now exploring teaching opportunities in the United States and would greatly appreciate your guidance on the best steps to take. Specifically, would you advise pursuing Special Education (SPED) units to enhance my chances of being hired? I understand that SPED teachers are in demand, and that it might be more challenging for Secondary English teachers to secure long-term positions and an H1B visa compared to SPED teachers.

Medyo hindi kasi related yung MA ko sa BEED. Ang work experience ko po is in elementary for 8 years. Any chance po ba na ma hire ako as elem teacher? Thank you po and more power!
To get H1b, your qualifications should be competitive.

Hi mam Alissa..🙂 I just want to clarify.. You got a J1 visa at first and then you were able to change it into H1b. Is it through employment that they petitioned your h1b and so you don't have to go back to Phil for 2 yrs?
I got an approved waiver based on my US citizen child. Then I was able to get a petition for H1b from an employer.

I get a job offer from the charter school in texas. After we had a job interview, several weeks later an imigration lawyer agency wich engaged by the school contact me, and asking for several documents for h-1b visa application purpose .
But until now there is no clear statement from the school that confirming my recruitment status or explaining term and condition about the recruitment process.. i have sent email to the school ceo and hrd, but there's no response from them. The only contact i have is only the immigration lawyer agency. Base on your experience, is that a normal thing in the teacher recruitment process? Is it mean that i accepted by the school? What i should do during this period and how long i need to wait for this h1b process? Thankyou

Hi Allissa! Thiis is an interesting video! After watching the video I can decide first in which state I would like to apply for H1b visa. Searching on Internet I 've discovered min= 4:35 that there are 4 states which Do Not Require Praxis (Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Michigan). Now, after checking this info, I have to apply for Fingerprint . It that true? I have to mention that I am not leaving in the USA.
Yes and you can actually get it outside US but the process is kinda long.
