Well, in more recent episodes, ther's the one where all the Simpsons die and alternate Simpsons that are a ton of references to other TV shows/movies move in at the end of the episode.
Homer Simpson: [chops down a door a la The Shining] Heeeeeeeeeeeere's Johnny! [there's no one in the room] Homer Simpson: D'oh! [chops down another door] Homer Simpson: Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavid Letterman! Grandpa Simpson: Hi, David, I'm Grampa. Homer Simpson: D'oh! [chops down another door and holds a stopwatch] Homer Simpson: I'm Mike Wallace, I'm Morley Safer, and I'm Ed Bradley. All this and Andy Rooney tonight on 60 Minutes! Marge Simpson , Bart Simpson , Lisa Simpson: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! ^ I love this reference to “The Shining,” even though I’ve never seen that movie, or “The Shinning.”
Here's a reference to "Treehouse Of Horror III" that they completely forgot to include: In "Dial 'Z' For Zombies" involving the scene of Bart and Lisa in the pet cemetery, you can find the tombstones featuring the names of three failed animated TV shows - "Family Dog", "Fish Police", and "Capitol Critters". Extra points to anyone else who remembers watching them! ;)
You missed a reference. Maybe more, but this is what I noticed: Marge, at several points, sports a white lightning bolt streak in her hair. This is a reference to Bride of Frankenstein in which the bride sports a beehive hairdo with a wavy white streak on either side, although Marge instead has a lightning bolt and it's much longer due to her comically tall beehive hairdo.
Thanks for making this video! Unlike a movie references video for American Horror Story, these are all believable unlike “In Asylum, Lana kicks a shoebox exactly 0.13 meters to her right, a direct reference to Friday the 13th’s famous snake scene (not actually what was said, it was just an exaggeration on how unbelievable the other video’s comparisons were)”.
I think Hair Toupee is probably more of a reference to an old movie/book called “The Hands of Orlac” where a pianist experiences an awful train accident that ruins his hands. But the doctors replace his hands with those of a recently executed murderer. Then it appears in the film that the ghost of the murderer, through the hands, is taking over the pianist and killing people. This movie came out in the silent era, so it’s probably the source of the other references in the Hair Toupee segment. The silent film and it’s loose remake, “Mad Love,” are pretty fun to watch. I know the silent film is floating around RUclips and the Internet Archive.
Treehouse of Horror I-VIII: Clever allusions to Twilight Zone, the Outer Limits, EC comics, 19th century Gothic horror fiction, Alfred Hitchcock, and Stanley Kubrick. Treehouse of Horror IX-XXIX: Lazy shock gore humor and obvious, on-the-nose parodies.
Hair Toupee really is more of a spoof of the Hands of Orlac, an older story where a pianists hands are mangled, and he gets a replacement from a criminal. The movie itself is from the 20's so it would've predated the Twilight Zone episode. I'm not entirely sure when the novel was published.
You missed the costume references. like the part where bart is dressed up like that guy from a clockwork orange. (didn't know that as a kid, but I do now)
They should've added melting homer from "Brother From the Same Planet" because something like that doesn't belong in a normal Simpsons episode. It belongs in a Tree House of Horror episode.
sorry to be "that guy", but at ~16:10 that was B-9 robot and not Robby the Robot, although Robby made an appearance in Lost in Space. Great vid ... and my dog likes to bark when hearing the "FREDERATOR!"
Actually, at 16:10 that was the robot from Lost In Space simply referred as Robot in the show. Robbie The Robot was from Forbidden Planet and looked completely different
`Aye Carumba!'; "Don't have a Cow, Man" ... "Great Googly Moogly" ... The thirty (30 As of 2019) "Treehouse of Horrors" are My FAVORITE … NUFF Said ... “🍺 Dilly Dilly”❗ ... "Nobody better lay a finger On my Biutterfinger"❗❗❗
Can you make a 107 Fact video about Simpson's Treehouse of Horror? It can be before or after parts 2 and 3 of References YOU Missed. Speaking of references you missed. I saw references in the Top 9 ToH specials video from last year that you could have mentioned in this video but didn't. You did make the same Shinning joke that he did. It was funny both times. I appreciate the hard work that goes into each of these videos. Thank you Channel Frederator.
Dial Z for Zombies is inspired more by Return of the Living Dead than Night of the Living Dead. Also, the flying kid vampire scenes were probably inspired by Salem's Lot.
SPOOKY SCARY! The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror has SO many references! Did we miss any on our list?!
Early :) :) :)
ChannelFrederator no
ChannelFrederator trick r treat
you missed Tom Baker ie the best Doctor from doctor who, worst Frederator fact video ever!

Wow, it's amazing how clearly you can see the huge drop in quality with season 10 just by comparing the Treehouse episodes.
RedVIII Ikr
6:35 - I believe the flying vampires is also a reference to Salem's Lot
You should do references from tree houses of horror 11-21
Hmmmm... Maybe we should
ChannelFrederator Like the newest one is coming out soon but it would be nice to see what references it has in store
ChannelFrederator you should also do references to Regular Show Terror Tales fron the Park

16:26 "life's a glitch then you die" reference to Nas - life's a bitch?

I still love the segment with Bart as The Raven and Homer as the narrator of said poem. It's a favorite of mine.
5:45 "How's that goat legged fellow, I like the cut of his jib."
Willy Krueger

I always knew they referenced movies and TV shows in tree house of horrors but I never knew what they were referencing. Thanks.
ah treehouse of horror... the only simpsons gag (together with the couch gag) that is still fresh!
Never been this early
There is always a first for everything!
Awesome, now do Treehouse of horror 11 - 20
Treehouse of Horror I-VIII: Clever allusions to Twilight Zone, the Outer Limits, EC comics, 19th century Gothic horror fiction, Alfred Hitchcock, and Stanley Kubrick.
Treehouse of Horror IX-XXIX: Lazy shock gore humor and obvious, on-the-nose parodies.
So in a time where everybody thought that the world was going to end, The Simpsons makes a comedy segment about the world ending...
(didn't know that as a kid, but I do now)
Guess what, Jacob, I recognized every one of them. So be careful when you presume EVERYONE missed them.
10:38 Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it! Simpsons did it!
They should've added melting homer from "Brother From the Same Planet" because something like that doesn't belong in a normal Simpsons episode. It belongs in a Tree House of Horror episode.
in treehouse of horror 9, snakes scalped hair also grabs onto bart's face like the facehugger from the alien franchise
sorry to be "that guy", but at ~16:10 that was B-9 robot and not Robby the Robot, although Robby made an appearance in Lost in Space. Great vid ... and my dog likes to bark when hearing the "FREDERATOR!"
This has nothing to do with the Simpsons, but with the twilight zone, the lost girl is the concept of stranger things
Actually, at 16:10 that was the robot from Lost In Space simply referred as Robot in the show.
Robbie The Robot was from Forbidden Planet and looked completely different
Drinking game: take a shot everytime the Simpsons reference the Twilight Zone
DO MORE!!!
I always enjoy references to old campy 60's movies.
To me, Bart and Lisa being in a graveyard in Dial Z for Zombie with a spell book is a reference to Army of Darkness.

Dial Z for Zombies is inspired more by Return of the Living Dead than Night of the Living Dead. Also, the flying kid vampire scenes were probably inspired by Salem's Lot.
