- i would have taken the radiator out after the fan and shroud if i knew i was going to end up doing the water pump to make that ac/power steering bracket come out easier.
“If you pull this pack and see a bunch of cracks, you know your shits fucked” it was right here and now I knew this was going to be the video to guide me through it.
Bruh at the beginning you sound like me trying to convince one of my crazy uncles to help do this on my 97xlt2.3
Thank you
How Do I get the Metal Hose from the Water Pump Off You completely skipped that part?
I believe it’s just an o-ring on the metal tube that slides into the water pump once it’s loose you should be able to shimmy it out if I remember correctly
I can not get the crankshaft pulley to come off, tried 3 jaw puller, tried hammer 🔨 and prying as Ford suggested, no luck
Try threading you crank shaft bolt in like 6 turns so the forcing screw on the puller had a better surface to push against. Or just pry the hell out of it evenly from two sides lol
I used a crow bar to hook the CKS pulley, put a small block of wood over the top of the oil pump pulley, then lever the top of the CKS pulley out while you tap on the bottom of the pulley. Came right out.
where do I get the tensioner tool? I never seen you use one
I just used a pry bar the tensioner is already in the loose position I prayed on it with the pry bar then tightened the bolt you see at 30:15
what did you use to lube the oring seals on the water pump. are you also supposed to use rtv gasket sealant? looks like my chilton manual says for me to use some
Regular engine oil for the o ring and some rtv definitely wouldnt hurt it at all if you want the extra peice of mind.
I used silicone spray to slip on the balancer, and the to lube the water pump o-rings. It all pressed together nicely like butter without really any force. Six months already, no leaks yet!
@@FutonStoriesdid you use rtv inside the bottom or just the silicone spray
@@itsstorm449 if by bottom you mean harmonic balancer then no: I did not use RTV anywhere on this project. I used silicon spray as assembly lube for both rubber o rings and machined metal. Thanks.
Wow I would not be able to do that without the battery being out
Definitely would of been easier taking the battery and tray out and starting from the front of the engine 😅
like the video but, i will suggest start from front to back.
Yeah that would of gave me alot more room to work on everything else thank you for the suggestion 👍
What size 3 jaw puller was that?
Not sure i think its the biggest one they sell at harbor freight
@@eltalleratomico7751 sounds good thanks brotha
I have that and it’s not working I’m three weeks trying everything I can think of.
@@mikesaltman whats not working about it?
