  • Hi everyone! I recently made a wooden puzzle for a 2 yo son of a couple of friends of mine. It's made of Iroko and Sycamore, two beauty and contrasting wood. In this project I’ve used the most the scroll saw and table saw. At the end of the video you will find a very short timelapse experiment that I’ve made for all my subscribers. I hope you enjoy the project and the video.

    Hola a tots! Recentment he fet un trencaclosques de fusta per al fill de 2 anys d’una parella d’amics. Està fet d'Iroko i Sicomor, dues espècies de fusta de notable bellesa i contrast. En aquest projecte he utilitzat principalment la serra de marqueteria i la serra de taula. Al final del vídeo he afegit un petit experiment dedicat a tots els meus subscriptors. Espero que gaudiu del projecte i del video.

    Hola me encantó tu trabajo!! Me apasiona el bricolaje, aunque soy novata con las máquinas que se utilizan...😅 podrías detallar cuáles utilizaste?? y qué materiales y herramientas me recomendarías para empezar a hacer puzles en madera a mi niño de 3 años?? Un saludo muy grande desde Madrid!!

    • @WoodworkingBarcelona
      @WoodworkingBarcelona  4 года назад +1

      Puedes evitar una gran parte de trabajo utilizando madera ya previamente dimensionada, con espesor uniforme. Básicamente, para un puzzle como este te recomiendo una sierra de marquetería en su versión manual o bien eléctrica, como la del vídeo. Son máquinas de tamaño y precio muy contendio con las que puedes empezar a hacer pequeños proyectos de marquetería y juguetes.

    I have been watching this over and over again for two weeks. Magic. Thanks a lot for what you do!
    What kind of scrallsaw do you use? I am now considering to buy Hegner Multicut 2s for hobby. What do you say?

    • @WoodworkingBarcelona
      @WoodworkingBarcelona  9 лет назад +1

      Thanks for your encouraging comment Andrew! I use a Proxxon DSH/E scroll saw; and I'm very pleased with it. I dont' have experience with that Henger but it seems to be more pro than mine, and it costs over 10 times more. Regards!

      Woodworking Barcelona
      Hi Man,
      Thanks for replying! Actually the exhisting Proxxon model (DSH) costs only four times less than Hegner 2s here in Moscow, Russia. Still it can be a great saving for me anyway. Did you try to cut hardwoods like oak or pear of 10mm+ thickness with it? Was it enough power? This is what I am dreaming to do?
      Yet, sorry for stupid question from the beginner, what liquid do you apply at the end - is it some mineral oil or varnish?

    • @WoodworkingBarcelona
      @WoodworkingBarcelona  9 лет назад +1

      Andrew Chalov It's a pleasure, Andrew. To answering your first question, I guess you can find very usefull my last video: ruclips.net/video/68CTmzHdH3Q/видео.html in where I cuted all the pattern through a piece of 25mm aged Oak. In previous projects, I've been able to cut also to 2.5mm stainess steel ( ruclips.net/video/uhrXs2q6cgw/видео.html ), 20mm purple heart (extremly dense wood) without problem and other dense woods. In softwoods like pine I cuted about 40mm without any problem. Obviously it will take much longer than with a band saw. You just need to choose the correct blade for each work. About the finishing of the wooden puzzle, I used a food safe mineral oil like in my other projects for children. Regards from Barcelona!
