You’re doing an excellent job with him!! It’s clear you take your time and truly care about putting in the framework to set him up for success. There’s nothing to criticize here.
Once in a conversation with a veteran horse person discussing why those animals do the unexpected. The answer was, 'That's why they call them horses.' May Odyssey wanted to how well your new vest worked. You are doing great with him.
lol! I can't imagine anyone 'criticizing' you for taking a fall off of a green, slippery, no-tacked up semi feral horse!!! Anyone stupid enough to try and find fault with you clearly has no clue what training a smart and sassy horse like Odyssey is like. In watching this, it just seemed that for whatever reason, Odd had some anxiety about something (maybe his buddies, like you explain) and in that moment his "fear of missing out" got the better of him. No big deal. He didn't go nuts, bucking like a loco bronc or anything. It wasn't personal against you---he was just processing the separation anxiety, I Guess. Just a guess. And wow, when the sun hits his coat---he looks like burnished copper!
Great job. We all make mistakes. Glad you didn't get hurt.
Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing the reality of horses. It's not all sunshine and rainbows. You're doing a great job!
Thank you!! Gotta keep it real 🙌

Indeed! It didn’t hurt too bad thankfully
