Thoroughly enjoyed Penuel’s engagement with Eusebius because I see that they’re very much alike. Felt this way even with the Mandisa Mashego interview. I enjoy natives (deliberately not using the label black) who’ve experienced a life of privilege (through education, exposure/access, opportunities, etc) with comparison to the average South African who then go on to question their privileged being, politics, geography, economics, etc all because they know that after having being inducted in whiteness (which is sold to us as affluence), they still have to return to themselves (individually as a person & collectively as a people). Your tribe is all you have. Tribe can be as simple/complex an argument/view as you want to be; you’ll give it meaning.

The traditional "campfire" is returning to society. Conversation is the glue and ultimate building block of civilization. The sparks are returning and these are embers of hope.
Disgrace by J.M Coetzee was my brother's setwork book in Standard 10 (2003) and I later read it for my own book review for English around Grade 10/11(2011/12). It is a deeply moving piece of literature.
We're really getting to see people differently than our fixed ideas from a distance have insisted on.
This podcast space is doing revolutionary work and the impact will be felt for decades.
#DataMustFall remains a valid clarion call as it will benefit so many stakeholders across class, race and gender.

On the issue of gender. We do gender it's not an absolute. Hence a single mother can be a father and a man can be motherly. One possesses feminine or masculine energy based on mood, lifestyle, politics etcetera. So quit drawing the lines and let's figure out how to have an active citizenry and self-govern. I really love this podcast. DJ Sbu all he does is provide a wholesome and harmonious space from which guests can just be their best genuine selves. Well done cant wait for part 2

What a well of knowledge all three of you have poured and spiked interest for me to take further into conversation… If we are to achieve as a collective…. The alternative way of thinking is definitely an approach we should all adapt and obviously evolve as our dynamics manifest themselves over time. We can not remain stagnant and traditional in a circular society. We will trip and fall as we are now

That anecdotal reference to Ta-Nehisi Coates is everything. Not only does it address issues of transphobia, it is heavy because it demands one to introspect in addition, survey those around them in their deliberate discrimination against others.

I just love eusebius, I soo miss him on radio, please come back to radio euby. For now I listen to him on his podcast and I get a lot of book recommendations from him via his social media pages, I marvel at how he expresses himself. A part 2 would be very interesting expanding on the middle class being scared of voicing their true opinions and those that do like journalists like Sikhonathi who was doing amazing work in investigating eskom and their shenanigans suddenly becomes their spokesperson 🤦🏽‍♀️ how when you start making noise with sense then they give you a position with more money to shut you up. A question for Ethics in journalism, I could go on but let me stop here.

Eusebius keeps sounding like Vusi Thembekwayo. The attenuation and voice projection 😂🙌🏽

I loved this episode. It’s dope to see Sbu giving space to fellow twangers to discuss progressive ideas that will take our country forward.

Eusebiud should migrate to this type of channel in my view - brings out his "radio skills" more. His Spotify channel is too intense even for us nerds 🤣. His sweet spot is this chilled setup where the conversation is still deep but not "academic deep".

An absolutely BRILLIANT episode- Eusebius never disappoints very articulate and a critical thinker. Thank you to Sbu and Penuel for facilitating this thought provoking conversation that flowed seamlessly across topics. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

@Eusebius and the podcast should tackle the legacy of our presidents and whether how did they define our political, economic and social lives and how does the current presidents leadership is treated in the same light our people.

Eusebius, love him, loved his show on 702 and how he always wanted facts. *laughing emoji*
