      As far as I can tell, the only person who got along with Chief Jay Strongbow was Ric Flair. Flair has a thousand different Strongbow stories that all involve both men getting totally wasted.

      @jasonbink5276 Год назад +3

      @@CharlesDLincoln According to Gary Hart's book, he was being brought in by Vince as a manager in 84. Strongbow made him late for a gig by having Howard Finkel call him and ask him to pick someone up at the airport that had already left. Gary had fired Strongbow from Georgia 8 years earlier and figured this was his payback. He figured he'd been set up once already, and when he realized Strongbow was one of Vince's most trusted henchman, decided it wouldn't work in WWF so he walked out. Vince offered for him to manage Beefcake and he turned it down and never spoke to Vince again.

      Gary Hart was a genius. It's such a shame he doesn't have the same status today as Bobby Heenan or Jimmy Hart because he was never in the Fed. He's on my mount rushmore of managers for sure.

      Was Skinner ever in any WWE pay-per-views? I can't remember Steve Keirn as the Skinner character in any PPVs. Unfortunately, Skinner was overused in matches with jobbers that were rather uneventful. I kept wondering: "Where is this character going?" Then before I knew it, Skinner was gone, and Steve Keirn was being utilized as the second Doink the Clown. The writers didn't know what to do with Steve Keirn. 1992 to 1993 was a sucky time for him in the WWF.

    • @TheBollocksArchives

      @@Scorch1028 yes, he had a pretty decent IC bout against Bret Hart at This Tuesday In Texas. He also had a rather short match against Owen Hart at Wrestlemania 8. I'm sure he was part of the Royal Rumble '92 and '93.. but these appearances were rather short as well. He might have been in a couple more PPVs but I can't really think of any others at the moment.

    Chief Jay Strongbow (a true full blooded Italian Native American.) is the reason I started watching pro wrestling.
    I was 10 or 11 flipping channels. by hand. came across my local UHF channel 56 and saw him walking to the ring in
    that headdress. I was curious and that was it. Bob Backlund became my childhood wrestling hero though.

    Very interesting stuff from Steve Keirn. His comments about Jay Strongbow gave me pause. Bret Hart, for example, named Strongbow as a great agent, so to hear the opposite opinion, articulated well I might add, is great material.

      Kevin Nash also liked Chief Jay as an agent. Kevin and Shawn Michaels always wanted to get advice from Chief. The members of the Kliq loved Chief. Honky Tonk Man, Keirn, Savage & Lanny Poffo were very critical of Chief. So Strongbow was a very interesting guy as an agent. Very interesting to get those kind of reactions from the guys in the locker oomph.

    I know not how he wrestled before the Chief Jay gimmick in the WWWF, but Chief Jay Strongbow was probably the worst and most unbelievable character/ wrestler I ever saw. I remember as a 10 or 12 old kid being amazed at how unbelievable his work was. It when I first started thinking wrestling was a work. The chops that couldn’t swat away fly’s. The knee kicks whereas his feet literally got about 2 inches off the mat and the dance that looked an arthritis riddled 80 year old with osteoporosis. I remember him beating the hell out of Ernie Ladd and knowing if wrestling was real it would never be happening. Thank you Chief Jay for wising up a little kid years before he should of been
