I watched it and it’s like mea culpa again and it’s a disrespect to a diary of a mad black women
@@MovieFiles Tyler tries to cram so much into a limited amount of time it's hard to take it seriously 😒
I didn't like it. The story was good, if it were a book I'd be all in. I didn't like the script, I didn't like how it was acted, I didn't like how some of the characters were portrayed ( Ava, Dallas, Rona and Ava's mom)
I go into Tyler Perry movies with lifetime movie expectations. So I’m never disappointed 🤷🏾♀️
Same! 😂
Right! There is a whole network dedicated to this type of film. If you enjoy Lifetime then this movie is for you.
😂 Lifetime movies use to be good in the 90’s. Not so much now, but my sentiments exactly.
😂😂😂😂
Tubi expectations for me 🤣
The movie was missing something. I think one thing it was missing was the love story between Meagan & Cory. We should’ve seen a detailed flashback of them being in love, so we can know why it was so hard for Meagan to let go of the relationship.
@@jakaylalide - Good point. And that's what most TP movies lack: character development.
Yes. All of his characters are one dimensional, and it appears that TP thinks that if he writes these long drawn out scenes, that will make up for the lack of, as was stated, character development. Unfortunately it doesn't. As I said on another thread, it seems like he puts more thought into giving titles to his movies, than to the actual plot lines and characters. I respect TP for many of the things he's done and has tried to do, but as a filmmaker, he owes more to his audience than this. It's like he's phoning it in, on a school play, level.
They showed flashbacks of the happy times between them. Not sure how you missed that.
@@GiGi52020 they showed one flashback of them dancing.. I didn’t miss that small scene. I’m saying showing a DETAILED FLASHBACK of the love story. Which means, showing them as teenagers when they met and fell in love. Not that small scene of them dancing as adults!
@@calvthomas6153 yes, I expected a lot more from all of the characters tbh.
Dallas is the only black man in America that couldn’t get arrested.
Right😂😂😂
😂
😂😂😂
😂
But could get killed
Tyler Perry created a supernatural character in Dallas... Please help me understand how Dallas was able to to recover from the triangle choke hold and teleport to Benji's farm (which was said to be about 90 minutes away) to kill ALL of his animals, and somehow make it back to the city to wait outside Megan's job?
Definitely thought the same thing but I just assumed he called his brothers to do it and if so he should’ve showed that to make more sense lol
Hell they all was town jumping left and right outta nowhere. This movie was awful
The funeral scene had me shook. That was so disturbing. If that happened in real life, I would have gotten the hell out of there quickly!!!
I kept wondering why the family wasn’t arrested. It is a felony in every state in the union to handle human remains without a mortician’s license.
I thought that was one of the best comedy scenes I’ve seen in awhile! Real talk here!
My wife and I are trying to watch more television together. Yesterday she suggested “let’s watch the new Tyler Perry movie!” This film made my stomach hurt! My wife and I are back to watching television separately…Great review! 😊
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The way I hollered!! 😂😂😂
lol sometimes that’s best
Made your stomach hurt 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂
The funeral scene....... The mama kept yelling "GET HIM UP" and I'm at home yelling BUT WHAT Y'ALL GONE DO WITH HIM ONCE Y'ALL GET HIM UP??? I knew then I couldn't take this seriously😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When the mom said take him out that casket & one of the brothers said get the feet .. I was in disbelief 😳 I hope folks really don't carry on like this in real life 😭😂😂✨
😂😂😂😂facts
I was thinking about Weekend at Bernie's
Yea the funeral scene was wild 😂😂
“I don’t have a writers room! I do it all myself!”🤡🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Work ethic!!" 😅😅
And he probably wrote this one in 2 hours. The time it took to write my English exam essays in highschool because that's what it was giving.
He could have spent a little more time on the Bertran family…I’ve got so many questions! 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Shout out to Cory Hardrict. Great acting.
I turned the movie off at least three times. It was so ridiculous from beginning to end that I began wondering if my life was just to sheltered to relate to these people. And yes, I’ve known abused women and wild, outlandish families, but these characters seemed more cartoonish than real. I only watched because a friend asked me to.
@@jandmvideos9051 my brain was completely off while watching it lol that’s how I managed to sit through the ridiculousness 🤦🏽♂️
I was embarrassed by the funeral scene. The movie lost my attention during parts. The ending was classic TP. I want him to stop writing! Just HALT!! I love the studio, love the actors, love to see black actors working. But the stories are loosely connected to truth. We always enjoy Megan…. But it was super rediculous, a lot of stereotypes, and corney. Uggggh! Will Tyler ever give us an Oscar worthy story? 🤦🏾♀️
White or Black, a good story is a good story. PERIODT even great actors can’t make it right.
@@mhomesgroup very well said!
Damn 😂😂
Yes! I totally agree. It seemed cartoonist.
The part after the fight and she said I told you to get out of my house...And when she dragged his ass out I was cracking up laughing!!!🤣🤣🤣💜
The Dallas character was very dark. He acted his behind off.
Yeah I agree
He showed out for sure.
I enjoyed the movie my husband even enjoyed it
I wish they would’ve shown a loving moment with Dallas and Ava. It just seemed like it was always bad, even in the beginning, so I’m not understanding why she would stay with someone for so long and deal with that kind of treatment. It was unrealistic to me. Terrible/rushed sex scene. I also wish they would’ve touched more on Dallas dad and how his mother made him kill him. So many things weren’t explained, and yet the movie was over 2 hours long.
They showed them at the fair hugged up and a small scene with him on top.of her making love. It just went by so fast you missed it 😅
Yes I also wish they would have touch base on how his mother made him kill for her. I wish he could had got help for his issues.
The silly dialog between Ava and Rhonda!
Rhonda: Imma come with you.
Ava:No girl, it’s ok
Rhonda: No girl Imma come with you
Ava:No girl ,It’s ok.
Rhonda never does anything lol!
This dialogue happened 5-6 times!
I saw that too and was like do yall hate each other lol
If your friend wants to support u let her!!
Yeah that was also very strange to me
And this is my problem with Ruthless, the repetition of dialogue and the dragging out of the dialogue. However its more fitting for ruthless because of the story line.
Yeah… this is where I get off. I’m off the train. I wish Tyler well but I can’t do it anymore.
@@tamaracharese 🤣 I don’t blame you
@@MovieFiles there are better films on Tubi
Im with you. I cant
😅😅😅😅
@@tamaracharesefacts
When I first heard the name of the movie, I thought Dallas fixed the divorce papers to take her money and she was gonna have to fight to get it back. Boy I was wrong lol
Me too, but he pretty much used that storyline in Acrimony & Fall from Grace - I’m wondering why there was emphasis on the lawyer heavily advising her to seek counsel before signing, if he wasn’t going to build on that.
@@Kayelle321right?! Good point there
Facts! Those were my exact thoughts. I just knew sis was about to get, got out her money, home, and all.
🤣
I had that same idea, seeing the trailer.
It felt like there should have been more to the scene where she signed the divorce papers without legal representation. Dallas’s attorney seemed to have been warning her…are you SURE you want to go through with this without representation? I thought maybe Dallas had slipped something in the divorce decree, but because she didn’t read it thoroughly enough, she missed it and lost out on the house, or had to pay alimony to him or something.
@@nikkiford8679 my thoughts exactly!
Even if she had a Legal Representation or not
Dallas would still act that same way
I thought Ava would call the cops about Dallas breaking in and Dallas would show them the divorce contract stating she signed over the house.
Did I miss something? Or did the bank NOT have security?
That's facts!!!!! 😂
@@oopsoops4483 yes! I kept thinking the same thing. Who’s allowed to blow up in a bank?
My thoughts exactly!!
NONE of the places in this movie had security. The grocery store, the bank, etc😂😂😂😂
They were on break or just watching the mess like everyone else lol
Man when Megan called and asked her friend if she told her mom about the letter, I was like WTH. Smh she literally left the letter sitting out and her mom picked it up and seen it 😂😂😂😂😂 like huh!!!
I’m more interested in how a friend kept track of all that stuff over time 😂. You know what kinda dedication you gotta put in to keep a list of someone else stuff like that. Nothing made sense in this movie
The pastor lecturing the family about their morality AT A FUNERAL was INSANE!! He's supposed to be an intelligent man, but if you KNOW your daughter is in a precarious position within this family, why would he make it WORSE? PUBLICLY? I thought it would be better if he had UNINTENTIONALLY caused offense because that would demonstrate MORE how unhinged the family was, but him goading them into it lost a bit.
He was tripping 🤣
Right. It seemed so unrealistic.
Naw he was suppose to tell the truth. Its what's wrong with this generation no truth telling aka ACCOUNTABILITY
He didn't know what she was going through.
Right
Yes we did see how Ava changed in the movie but we didn’t see how and why she fell in love with Dallas. He wasn’t portrayed as charming or lovable. What was it about him that would make her put up with him or his family?
I just hope this movie gives Cory the exposure that he needs to go to the next level! He did extra extraordinary with the impossible! That TP writing was an absolute dumpster fire😣
Agreed. 🚮 🔥 lol
Just watched this movie while working remotely - lol - might have been the main reason I got thru it. Anyway, Dallas' fro and sideburns were giving 1979. Dallas' dialogue just wasn't giving much of anything - but it was great to see Megan Goode and her co-star Debbi Morgan acting together again (Eve's Bayou).
Same working remotely that’s the only way.
Horrible and the worst part is I can't get my time back
🤣 appreciate you watching my review
I actually really liked this film . It was one of my favorites of his actually. Yes is very Tyler Perry but I loved the theatrics (Tyler Perry stays true to theatre) , Cory’s performance and the portrayal of domestic violence and the layers that goes on behind the scenes of relationships. I watched it for the 2nd time today
I really loved it because it was different and the attitude of these characters was on point! This is one of his best films that he did along with "Temptation" Why Did I Get Married, and Why Did I Get Married Too". I watched it twice and have the urge to watch it again and repeatedly... Well done with this one Mr Perry!!
I liked it also, you just have to know what to expect with a Tyler Perry film. You're going to get his writing style. I will say I thought the second half was better than the first...and that's enough to make me watch it a second time (I'm about to press play).
Glad you enjoyed it and appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
I love it also great film the acting was phenomenal
The beginning scene is absolutely ridiculous, but I actually enjoyed this one.
I recently found out that my sister’s husband grew up in the Saint Bernard projects with Tyler Perry. Their grandmas used to play cards together and some of the stories that he tells Tyler Perry isn’t too far off them. Them women were miserable and their husbands were horrible. They condoned a lot of foolishness that their husbands and sons would do. And by Them having like 20 to 30 women constantly coming in and out the house to play(only 8 could play at a time) they would sit there and gossip all day and this is supposedly where Tyler got all his stories. He wasn’t allowed to go outside because she didn’t want him to end up in the streets (New Orleans was wild still is) so he’d be inside playing with whoever kids/grandchildren that came with them while they was playing cards. And they would listen to the women talk about their problems…. Finding that out and actually knowing my sister’s in laws and their messy friends some of these stories are very believable
My aunties have similar stories from the 50s so I assume that’s the generation these stories are for
Which is all the more reason why he needs writers. Black women do much more than get beat up by their husbands, waiting to be rescued by Mr perfect. Smh trash. @@WilliamsPinch
Had he grown up around some black people who actually had loving relationships, we wouldn’t be getting dumpster fire after dumpster fire of work
@@NobodyHasToAgreeAllTheTime we definitely wouldn’t. Like I said my brother in laws family was is a hot mess & this was women in the 70s & 80s they weren’t even allowed to have bank accounts. They stayed with the men cus it wasn’t really many other options. My brother in law used to talked about being the first person in his family to move out of the projects (my mom and stepdad helped them get their first apartment) and his momma would brag about it at the card games she went to. So Tyler definitely only had one type of inspiration for a lot of his movies.
@@WilliamsPinch it was around the 70s and 80s my brother in law is 51 I think Tyler is 53 or 54. Before Katrina New Orleans was a city that basically you stayed in your own area so the Saint Bernard project will be considered the 7th ward people who lived in the 7th ward didn’t leave that area at all. They had people who lived in certain projects. They had never been to a different project or never been past what we call Canal Street which is where bourbon Street is. People stayed in their area of the city and you would only go to Canal Street to go to like a clothing store or to bar things like that but you had grocery stores in your neighborhood. You didn’t leave your neighborhood. That’s how it was before Katrina and Tyler Perry left before Katrina, so the people he was around very close minded and accepted whatever was offered to them and of course by 70s women couldn’t even have bank accounts. They weren’t allowed to have birth control without their husbands permission so they were just having baby after baby. Collecting food stamps New Orleans was a mess in the 70s and 80s.
I couldn't understand why she married into that family in the first place. Regarding the opening, I have never seen anything like that in my life. Cray Cray at its best.
That funeral scene was next level TP crazy. I love your review. 😂
I was dead 🤣
I just always think boondocks and Atlanta when it comes to Tyler Perry
@@milestones140 100%
The Boondocks knew too much.... Tyler Perry had to help destroy the show by any means necessary 😢 RIP! Boondocks
Meagan Good & Cory’s acting was very good…imo🙂
They definitely did the best with what they were provided.
Especially
Cory
I wouldn't watch a Tyler Perry movie with someone else's eyes! His writing skills are nonexistent, and he seems to have serious issues with black women. They are either drug addicts, victims of abuse, adulterers, spineless, or all of the above. The dialog is ridiculous, there are always plot holes ( I use the word *plot* loosely) and yet people continue to watch. I am awash in a sea of confusion. Thank you for your service and sacrifice!❤
I did watch Mea Culpa about a month ago. I finally watched it for two reasons: Chicago and Kelly Rowland. It was a little better than a Lifetime movie. A little.
I watch just to laugh at Tylers BS. We really should stop rewarding him by hate watching.
lol I’m laughing at watching his movie with sum1 else’s eyes
The Tyler Perry-ism are so ridiculous 🤣
Oh god, the dialogue!😂 definitely ridiculous… slow in ever way
All I saw was Michael Ealy playing Dallas & Monique playing mama Beltran😂😂
@@kve1247 🤣🤣🤣
Mama Beltran was Monique's role is the reason why he picked someone to look similar like her.
@@realwayne86 hmmmm hmm, I had a feeling that was the plan;it’s obvious😂
I was definitely feeling the "Monique" vibes, but the Mike Ealy vibes not so much. In my opinion, Corey was made for this part 🎉🎉
@@kve1247 Yes, it is obvious 🤣. Even though Tyler and Monique fell off, Tyler found that character who played momma Beltran to be reminded of Monique to let Monique know" I still love you and you thought about still is the reason why I picked someone to look like you Monique." You can see Monique in the way momma Beltran talks, acts, and in her attitude that the role was for Monique.
IDK why but I cracked up when Meagan asked the other guy “Can you help me lift him” so seriously after cussing and going all through the house. So random 😂😂😂
I lmao when she said that too. I had to pause and rewind because like you dragged his heavy body from upstairs to downstairs and out the door & now you want some help. That was Hilarious 😂🤣😂🤣
The adrenaline can only take you so far😂
When that happened, my thought (which I screamed out loud!) was, *"Where are the neighbors?! Don't nobody see them carrying a BODY out the house?!!"*
She just put him in the car. It would have been better if she started the car up and put it in revert while Dallas was unconscious. She just left the truck there in her driveway.
@@dr.braxygilkeycruises1460 🤣😂
Cory's character has some amazing teleportation and locksmith abilities.
Chiiiiiiile....I stopped watching Tyler Perry movies like 15yrs ago LOL he needs to get some psychotherapy especially when it comes to his childhood trauma AND his passive hate towards black women...in my opinion!!!!!
I don’t even think the hate is passive anymore - just blatant atp
I loved the movie!!! I was more focused on the acting of Corey and Megan and they did an amazing job!!
12:52 🎯 Nailed it and specifically regarding tone, I've always said Tyler is still writing for plays instead of the screen. Now, this man is simply making work so bad that everybody is going to see it just to get in on the discussion of how terrible it is. 🤦🏿♀️ As a creative, I couldn't imagine intentionally creating trash for revenue. As much as I love a rags-to-riches story + lifting as you climb, Tyler is a menace to art.
This movie could have been way better and felt like tyler could have gone further with this story.
That scene where Dallas said something about his best friend cheating, and the best friend’s wife said, I already knew about that. I knew she was lying. She didn’t know the full extent of her husband’s cheating, but she wasn’t going to give Dallas the satisfaction of thinking that he just outed his friend. I agree that Tyler Perry could have done a better job of directing the scene where she confronted her husband. But for me, that scene validated what I already suspected.
I had the same issue regarding the travel between the two cities. How were they able to travel to “the country” and back to Atlanta, SEVERAL times in one day? It made no sense. Also the rush for Megan to enter into a new relationship. Why? And the fact that Corey’s character harmed his own father and it was never elaborated on is insane!! The first 5-7 minutes was the best part. After that it was all down hill.
Like I said, geographically challenged 🤣
It was a little better than Mea Culpa with Kelly Rowland, to me, I watched it twice.🤭🤷🏽♀️
How did you manage to watch it twice? Lol. Mea Culpa was tolerable. Better than a Lifetime movie. If never watch it again. Too many holes.
@@RahYisrael99😂😂😂 Lolol
I definitely thought this was better than mea
The good actors in this saved the movie from being just awful . That’s all I’m going to say.
I’m sick of TP!
And that’s why he keeps doing this
Why was the deceased brother's hands balled up like he was about to fight when they put him in the back of that truck?😂
I'm going to attempt to watch tomorrow. I still appreciate Tyler Perry recognizing our black actors and giving them a chance to prove themselves.
What made me laugh was every time he got drunk in public he threatened an innocent bystander.
Corey was definitely a bully 😂
Now Elliott 😂😂 the opening lines😂
@@mysweetperspective The Dallas character had me in tears 🤣
Why did I just see the short and came back to rewatch the intro. 😭
@@MaxineShaw_84 😂😂😂
You're the first critic to mention the distance between Atlanta where Ava lived and the country where her family lived and how Dallas was at each location from one scene to the next. I noticed that right away. They said it was an hour and a half each way but he was back and forth like it was nothing. And where was security in the bank scene. Every bank has security and he was creating so much commotion and no one came to intervene. Same as in the grocery store. This older woman is being assaulted and no one is helping her. This movie could have been a lot worse when you look at his past 3 movies but TP definitely needs help but as long as his loyal followers are around, TP will continue putting out trash every 6 months so he can collect a check.
That was my biggest gripe. The lack of security at the bank. And a very new shiny classy looking bank at that 😂😂
@HerReelRevieJust like that empty bank on Sistas!!!!😂😂😂😂😂Maurice waving people away from his window in the dam bank please 🥴TP really turn me off he have all these, talented actor's and actresse's working, the ✍️🏾 suck's .
That opening scene had me HOLLERING. It was giving Madea.
Dallas started smiling when Ava signed the divorce papers and the lawyers gave each other a look. This led me to believe that she unknowingly signed her life away. But that storyline went nowhere.
Also: lil azz Megan dragged that man’s dead weight from upstairs to outside ? Okay Tyler.
This movie was bad. I was also upset because I live in Atlanta, Georgia and could tell that this movie was filmed in Savannah, Georgia. They kept saying that they will be "there to the country" in 1 1/2 hours. That kept throwing me off because I knew that "there" was Savannah, and that it takes several hours to get to Savannah from Atlanta. I think Tyler should have filmed in a different location. Maybe Athens, Georgia.... to be realistic with the time distance, and not throw off people from Georgia watching the movie. When you make a movie, you should be more responsible and as accurate as possible. Have some artistic integrity.
This movie was amazing,!!!!! Congrats to the entire cast everyone played their part true talent!!!!! Anyone that doesn't like it are abusers & the fam that
support(ed) antics because it's only their fam other than that Richard played a loving protective father mom wasn't in the business the best friend wasn't a back stabber..the mother of the rotten sons did amazing & played a true enabler & Meagan was the true definition of a good girl gone bad!!
Tyler had new writer's & allowed the the cast to add to scenes corey really tapped into hos character to the freaking T....well played Congrats & continued success to the entire cast & crew
Glad you enjoyed it
The bank scene was a little ridiculous and the scene in the office when she was signing the divorce papers. I was hoping that when Dallas was talking his crap he would have said you left the house, car, and money in the bank to me. I wanted to see more with that. Also the homegirl Rhonda and her square husband, I thought a fight was about to break out when Dallas talked about the woman that he had an affair with. I also wanted to see Dallas family more. The sex scene was terrible but I thought Dallas would have popped up during that scene. I also thought that a fight would break out in the hospital since she just killed Dallas. I thought that Ava and Dallas mom were going to fight in the church but the lady just started taking her clothes off and that scene made no sense. The way the son that was killed was laid out in the back of the pick up truck was so ridiculous and funny at the same time. I actually thought that Cory acting was good, Tyler Perry writing and directing needs some work. It was better than the one on Netflix with Kelly Rowland.
Them 2 finger pointing was hilarious!!
Tyler Perry hates us. 😂
Oh Tyler...there was like a 45 minute stretch with no Dallas, at all! Blaahhh...Ava going back to the family farm took too long. I wanted Dallas to jump out of the bushes or something!
Yeah I definitely thought the film needed more Bartrans family
It was the acting for me 🎉❤❤
Looking for quality?
"Beekeeper"

OUTSTANDING
Dallas only characteristic the entire movie was super angry drunk dude 😂
Bertran family was more like the Beagle boys from Duck Tales.
I always have low expectations when watching a Tyler Perry film. This wasnt as horrible as some of his others. He still needs writers (good ones!) and better direction as well as character development. I cant take away from his success and employing our people. And that he paid Meagan her actual rate of pay. He did the same i think for Cicely and Taraji. I applaud that.
So no one is talking about how Dallas got beat up in the morning, put in his car, and Ava slammed the door so hard the window shattered.. Then when he showed up to the bank that afternoon still black and blue, the window was fixed? 😂😂😂😂.
Homeboy rolled the window down to speak to the friends husband.😂😂😂
OK just finished it and it's not that bad lol. I liked it more than I thought. What an amazing soundtrack "I will Survive "- Ledesi was amazing...
I am ready to see Tyler Perry tap into more, let's be honest trauma sells, let be more specific, blk women's trauma sells. That's how rnb songs prospered so well.. I am ready to see more, healthier love stories, rom coms etc.
the trailer told me what i needed to know 😂😂😂 Mea Culpa was all the Tyler Perry in can watch this year
The movie was frustrating to watch. You’d think 20 years after diary of a mad black woman he would’ve grown he has actually gotten worse.
Cory's character seem like a real simple part. It was a 2 hour movie....I felt like Dallas was in there 30-40 minutes the whole movie. Also all of the cussing was too much. Ppl keep saying Cory did a phenomenal job but there wasn't much to it.
3 things for me:
1: He needs to hire some writers or accept the decline of his brand. This was it for a lot of people
2: black women, y’all aren’t tired of this man doing yall like this?
3: there’s some apologies that need to be handed out for all of the people who were accused of not supporting black film makers because we told yall about Tyler Perry 10 years ago.
I kept saying that, like how was Cory so fast at getting from the family’s house in the country to back to Atlanta?
0:08 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 those two lines lmao had me rolling
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I enjoyed the movie and I would watch it again and recommend it👍🏾
It was a weird movie although I did like the end. That open scene was nuts. The beginning of the movie felt disjointed from the rest. Some parts seemed boring or not needed in the film. I was thinking when will it start being being good? It did happen but it took to long. And some scenes were overtop. I think the acting was great. It isn't terrible but not good either because some scenes seemed unrealistic.
Watched Tyler Perry’s Movie, “Divorce in the Black” last night. It was an engaging fictional story that showcased the real life tragedy of domestic violence and mental illness. Along, with the rewards of having the support of a loving family and friends. Even though, a number of events were similar to Tyler’s previous films, and the title could have been more inventive, overall, I was pleased with suspense and unexpected twists. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love how you analyze the technical aspects, like cutting, blocking, inconsistencies in scenes. The dialogue & backstory were killing me. So much repetition & fillers. Why are Benji & Jim written so weak? They should have explored the abusive history of the Bertrans, even if just flashbacks of young Dallas fighting his daddy when he’s having violent outbursts.
Yeah the choir scene was off and not well edited.
I liked the movie. The only scene that felt like a typical TP movie was the opening.
It’s kinda sad but funny to see how Tyler Perry is known for making terrible movies these days.
When I was a kid, my grandma and mom showed me his plays on DVD. Even went to the movies to see his movies including the Madea ones. But now? I’ll give him credit for Jazzman’s Blues. Everything else? Hard pass
I don’t think anyone was prepared for what happened at the funeral 😂
The laughable part for me was when Ava said she was healed after a week away from her husband. Huh? Lol, I did think Corey did a great job given the script he had to work with
All she needed was a good run and a trip to the fair 🤣
@@MovieFiles😂😂😂
In the film's defense, I think she had put up with so much and was staying out of a sense of obligation, so him leaving her was her "aw, hell to the naw!" moment. It's weird in situations like that, but sometimes the "line" to I'm totally done is narrow. That part was actually believable to me.
She cried her tears way before the restaurant. Those were. Just leftovers.
Cory is actually a great actor. I hope he gets quality big screen films ! Meagan was meh ...
@@Sapphire903 yeah that’s true. He probably could of worded that line differently like saying something like “I’m feeling better and better each day” or “I feel I’m getting stronger/healing more each day” not I’m healed in a week 😆
😆🤣🤣 Omg! The opening to your video had me in tears!
😁
Tbh I think he doesn’t pay attention to detail because he shoots the movies too quickly shooting a movie in three weeks is ridiculous. That’s a Tubi movie that’s not a production. If that makes sense. They shot acrimony in three weeks. Corey was just on the breakfast club and he said they shot this movie in three weeks. I think three weeks is too quick to shoot a movie and still pay attention to every detail and directed amazingly that’s not what’s gonna happen if you’re shooting a movie that quickly. He needs to take his time with his movies and maybe take six months to shoot the movie and edit it and do everything perfectly but it’s never gonna happen if he continues to do three week movie shoots like it’s for Tubi.
6 months??? I don't know if they still do that..he would end up paying alot of money to the workers and what actor is going to give you that kind of time? I agree with you tho it should take that long m, that's why the movies of long ago were so good they took there time..
The parents played the mess out of their roles
In the end, when mama Bethran said “This Ain’t Over”, I believe it’s a setup for a sequel. 🤷🏽♀️
@@clew5010 Yeah I could see Tyler making a spinoff show just with them 🤣
But, why?🤣
@@kve1247 Great question!! 🤣🤣🤣
I was waiting for the brothers to put Benjiin the hospital again😂😂😂
I hope not😂
Tyler really doesn’t respect the actors he employs. He sets them up with tomfoolery and doesn’t honor them enough to bring in writers. He can direct and can produce. He doesn’t give a damn about his people or the craft.
I don't know WHY y'all keep expecting QUALITY product from a TEMU writer!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Once I saw it was on Amazon and NOT Netflix, I was like yep, he can't fool Netflix no more! And, I knew it would Awful!
15:39 THATS WHAT I SAID! While she was in town we could’ve gotten more of his family and how they “be in his ear” and/or how they “terrorize” that town
New subscriber! You are great at reviewing movies 🍿 🎥
After watching this movie, my brain felt like the pastor after being beat up by Dallas and his brothers. My sister told me to watch the movie and now I question our relationship lol.
In my opinion, Tyler Perry's movies often portray negative aspects of black women in unhealthy relationships with their partners and families. His movies tend to depict abusive mothers, abusive men, and another man saving the abused woman. I believe that Tyler Perry should consider optioning novels that explore healthy black relationships and adapt them into movies.
Great review! “Geographically challenged” is the best way to put it.. the timeline, travel inconsistencies, poor character development, and standard Tyler Perry tropes made this movie unintentionally hilarious. I know it’s two hours in my life. 2 hours I will never get back, but I’m enjoying everyone’s commentary on how foolish this was.
What did Dallas do for a living ? Did I miss something.. also why did she say
He has to work if he is an alcoholic. Mid to the end of the movie very interesting.
I was formatting an excel spreadsheet, which thankfully took me 2 hrs… if it wasn’t for that I would’ve turned it off within the first 15 mins😒
Was waiting for someone to review this 😅 glad it’s you , thanks for the upload !! ✨☺️
Appreciate you watching
I thought the film was boring. I fell asleep. But TP is giving black folks jobs. Great opening but what a boring flick. Megan Good was wonderful. Cory was over the top and one note but that's how the character is written. Not on him.
The movie was great. I loved every minute of it. Cory... thumbs up!!!
I took 3 plates home
So, your video randomly popped into my feed earlier today. I got 2 minutes into it, and you made me laugh so hard that I turned it off and went to watch the movie. Now I'm back and watched your whole video. MAN!!!! 😆 🤣 😂
I am so glad you mentioned geography issues because that was my main problem. I kept yelling at the TV. *_SEVEN TIMES_** they made a point of saying the country town was one hour & 30 minutes away from Atlanta.* Seven!! But then someone would leave the country, and 7 minutes later, they was at the house in Atlanta! How in the Back to the Future did that happen?!!! SEVEN TIMES!!! 😵💫🙄 Sheesh.
Anyhoo, another thing I screamed at the TV at least 10 times was, 📣 *"Girl, call the f'ing Police!!!! 911, Heifah, dial 9.1.1.!!!!"* Got my nerves bad. 🙄 But still, I actually enjoyed the movie. It kept my attention, which is rare for his movies over the last 5 years. 😊
🤣 loved reading this and thank you for coming back and sharing your thoughts on this very geographically challenged film lol
That damn bedroom fight scene was peak cinema I swear 😂💀
Lol
I was entertained by this one. I'm glad he treated Meagan right. No paint or dirty D scenes 😂😂😂. I kept waiting for baby Ike to say " Eat the cake!""
I haven’t even got into your video yet, but your opening lines got me crying 😩😭😭🤣
At this point, I feel like Tyler Perry has so much money, I think he’s just incredibly bored.
I try to give this man Tyler the benefit of the doubt and he disappoints every single time.
