America understand talent. That’s the difference. She couldn’t judge talent when she couldn’t sing a note to most. No one knew her too. Even from her looks. Girls Aloud was a British group and she wasn’t a great singer in that. Her looks pulled her through. Simple.

I'm mexican and I have to say that sometimes I don't get the brithish accent, but, I mean, Cheryl is so clear in the way she talks, I don't know how's that some people don't get what she says.
"the brithish [sic] accent"? Let me tell you, we don't all sound like Cheryl. Cheryl has a unique accent that is only concentrated around two cities in northeast England, right up by Scotland. So the British accent is actually many, many accents. They change so wildly in such a relatively short distance, that there are more accents in such a small area than the rest of the English speaking world combined.
She is from new castle and has a more unique English accent.

Bringing Paula on was the end of Cheryl on US X-Factor. There was no room for both. Plus, whoever styled her. I'm not big on fashion, but she's such a beautiful woman. Why they put her in such unflattering clothes & hair style is beyond me. She was a UK superstar at the time. She should have really brought it.

Please bring back Cheryl Cole for USA X Factor! She was so lovely and honest as a judge. I had no problem understanding her accent.
I think Cheryl would do great in this first season, but I realized the lacked chemistry on the panel, at 1:06 you can see LA Reed and Paula didn't pay attention to Cheryl and you can see at 1:14 that they changed the chairs for her to get closer to Simon since she had more intimacy with him and could interact more with him. It was definitely missing something on the judging panel. If they had put Cheryl and Britney together, surely they would have had an interesting friendship to see.

Always smile on her face, she respects all contestants, gives clear explanation whether it is yes or no. She always stand for her decision irrespective of other judges decision.
I'm American and I love Cheryl. I hated the X Factor after she left. The panel always seemed off and missing the heart she would have given it... Much like she did for the UK X Factor.
how Simon ever let Cheryl go is beyond me. shes is just perfect. and i'm from the US. wish they'd bring her back so she can jump start her career here and then i'd finally get a chance at seeing her live omg that would be my dream!
I would love to see Cheryl and Britney be judges on the X-Factor US. I think that amount of pop power would be awesome.

She was perfectly understandable for me as a non-USA citizen who has never lived in an English country. Nobody in the USA should have problems understanding her. This has more to do with American pride which mostly is about everything being American. This view should have died 40 years ago when America was seen as the world leading country. That isn't relevenat anymore, not at all. It is a world country but a part of the world and as such citizens should not be so isolated about it. They could, by al means it's their freedom, the end result is they get more isolated and even more seen as a country with great arrogance and overstated status. Isolate from the world and you will be treated as stubborn, arrogant and with that useless for world politics. Then you only have power, and when you lose that notice that respect already died many years ago. We have enough of those countries in the world and they are mostly hated. You can't work with them, completely useless. Everybody hates arrogance, also America (it's a christian sin named pride), they just don't like it when other do it.
We need her back in america! Shes a breathe of fresh air!

Cheryl didnt seem to be the same as she was on the UK version of the show. Even in 2008 when she first started she was much more energetic and you could tell she was comfortable with her role, and as the 3 years progressed we could see that more and more, but on the USA version she didnt seem to be enjoying herself as much, its a shame but thats show business
& if you noticed, they never even introduced Nicole as a second host. Cheryl got the short end of the stick here...

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm American as well and I absolutely love her! Simon is a fool for canning her like that. I think that she would have made a difference on the show if only she was allowed to stay.

I quit shipping Chimon (Cheryl and Simon) when I heard about this (In mid 2015!!!!). I think she should have stayed on the show, and I am from America, and I can understand her perfectly. I think the show would have been great with her on it, and that X Factor UK is better with her and Simon on it.
Cheryl confirmed it herself on twitter that X Factor is already part of her past and she's moving on and won't be returning to either the UK or USA version. Simon Cowell and FOX executives, you idiots! You have deprived us Americans of this gem ="(

Cheryl was definitely the right fit for the show. She should have released some music before coming to the States, that definitely might have helped her. Paula definitely was not the right choice for the show...she's too nice to give harsh criticism. I love the fact that Britney is on the show now because I simply ADORE her but I would have loved to see her and Cheryl interact.

Cheryl wasnt fired because of her judging abilities,the fact that US audience's didnt "get her" or didn't understand her accent its simply because simon cowell thought she would sleep with him if he gave her the world (a chance to crack america) &- she wouldnt, because shes a smart girl & knows that she can do it in her own way, in her own time! she has even more of my respect for not sleeping her way to the top.shes a star in her own right & doesnt need simon or fame in the US to tell her that.

I'm American! From the midwest actually! And I have never had a problem with Hugh Laurie's accent or with Cheryl Cole's accent! I think that's a very weak point to try to make!

I can understand her perfectly but I'm English and live in England! :) But I could understand Americans not being able to understand her! I have a London/Welsh/Leeds accent all rolled into 1 and Americans can't understand me when I visit!
Cheryl actually gives quite good criticisms of people's singing. being in a girl band, she knows about vocal harmonies and she does repeatedly demonstrate she knows what she's talking about. Singing is something that can be trained but you also have to have a certain amount of natural ability to be a good singer. But that doesn't mean someone without that natural abilty can't learn the best singing techniques.

If we're talking about pre-showing of X Factor when she was just announced as judge then how can they hate her when they probably didn't even know who she was then? People looked her up & they liked her. If we're talking about vast majority here then the only vast majority that really matters are the ones who are watching the show and THAT vast majority likes Cheryl

I really like Kelly being a judge though. I can see that this year she is more confident in her decisions where as when she was on the UK X Factor with Gary Barlow, Tulisa, and Louie she seemed to be kind of timid or something like that.

I think the judging panel was a mess and would have done better with 3 judges instead of 4. Simon & Cheryl should have stayed. I understand why Paula was of interest (obviously they wanted a reunion and that American Idol chemistry that would bring in viewers), but really, let's be honest, the second she was brought on, that was going to be the end of Cheryl on the panel. I think they should have just kept it at 3 judges, Simon, Cheryl & LA Reid.

Tbh, the only thing wrong with the orginal team was Steve Jones (the presenter)
