    Lacan demands decades of study, starting by his Seminars, and Écrits, and Autres Écrits. I repeat, as a student of Lacan: Lacan demands a lot of effort, especially when explained in English. May I indicate a good book: Bruce Fink's THE LACANIAN SUBJECT. Etc. To start studying Lacan is better in a small group, oriented by someone who knows not only what he said and is published, but it also demands that that person practices a Lacanian analysis. That demands decades. Good luck !

      Vitor, thanks, and of course I agree. The challenge of this series of videos was to select and compress what I think of as essential points of reference for first year art students. The alternative in the case of Lacan would be not to mention him. But would you advocate that?

      @@JamesElkins Hi, James, of course not. For me psychoanalysis is Freud and then Lacan. No time to waste with the others. Lacan is a genius.
