I got my 1DXMK3 back in 2020 and I have been blissfully happily since...I didn't upgrade to the R3 and if things pan out like it's going, I won't be upgrading to the R1 from the 1DXMK3. This camera IS the final "Love Letter" to DSLR platform and it's a relationship that I am fully invested in! Welcome to the CREW! ☺
I bought mine back in 2020 and it has been everything I have ever wanted and MORE! As you said, I could have purchased something “cheaper” but this body is exactly what MY workflow demanded…😊
I just got back into photography and gave up around 2017 and went gray man for 3 years..... and now in 2020 got back into it again with a 1DX MK II and a Canon 5DSR shooting weddings and immediately found a gig in 2020 doing Real Estate and Commercial Building Photography ...... and now I am happy again...... Same here. Close to the same timeframe as well. Been doing it for 30 years, with 10 years as a business of mine....now I do it for myself and RUclips. I may do gigs again but not pursuing clients. Happy for you!

Hi Steve nice video, i just purchased the canon 1dX MK iii a couple of weeks ago. Its a power house ! Love the huge size of this beast. You chose wisely, good for you Steve. Enjoy your beautiful camera. Mike 👍
The 1DX Mark III is so much more camera than someone like me needs. My 7D and 20D (and old 300D) are plenty good, still. But, I turned 60 the other day, and a used Mark III was my present to myself. Looking forward to learning as much as I can about it!
@@LuigiL75 You and me both, my friend! I'm strictly stills, too. No interest in video at all (no knowledge of it at all, to be honest). I actually just added an R6 Mk II to my arsenal, and in a few minutes I'm going to go out with that, the 1DX Mk III, and the 7D Mk II to take a few shots at it.
I love the 1dx ii and was looking for one but couldn't find it. I was curious to try the auto focus scroll feature on 1dx iii with your thumb and I really love it. I sold all my gear about 5 years ago when I stopped shooting for clients and had nothing. I'm coming back now with DSLR again and I love EF. If you're happy with the 1dx ii, stick with it...it's a killer camera.
i still shoot with the canon 1dx mark ii, i was thinking about grading to medium format... but for some reason im not ready to say good buy to this camera.
First and foremost great video. Second, does anyone know if there is a setting when switching from Photo mode to Video that keeps the current ISO, F Stop and Shutter Speed? In the 1dx2, you could switch back and forth between the modes and the same settings remained.
Are you talking about viewing the images after taking them, or while taking them? Yeah, you can turn everything off in the menu while taking the image but you'd be flying blind.
I still think this is the very best camera that Canon still manufactures today! You can still buy this camera brand new with a 2023 manufacture date. It’s expensive but so is everything else that’s good in the world. I also own the Nikon D850. In many ways I prefer my Canon. Why? Because color reproduction is unmatched. And really 20 mega pixels it’s super sharp. It captures light better than the D850. However comparably the D850 is not a professional line camera with Nikon. So the build quality is nowhere near the canon 1DX MkIII. Additionally, the auto focus system in the canon is phenomenally better than it is in the D850. When you’re dealing with tech you get what you pay for! And when doing so it’s always best to go with the best! I also own the canon R3 and the R5. I still prefer the canon 1DX MkIII!!

I use it because its tough enough to use in Ukraine.
Any idea if all the info settings could be set to "OFF" so one can see only the image and BLACK all around the image ???

thank you, yes, while taking the images ( which is why after 9 years of mirrorless I am thinking about returning to DSLR )@@RotterStudios

I also really enjoyed the Canon 5D original. Not the best in low light.....but so great with images. Had that awesome film look. Wish I never sold it.
Why is Steve calling me a photographer?
