I have a 2007 GXP that i bought it with a blown motor from an old guy who's health was failing and he was unloading some stuff. He had just put on a Hahn Racing Inter-cooler, Inter-cooler pipes and blow off valve. He also put in a stage 2 high performance GM computer chip and punched out the catalytic converter and installed a new turbocharger. Because the engine already had 120,000 KM on it, as soon as he stepped on the gas, a piston rod bent and it smashed into the bottom of the engine and destroyed it. He had only put 40km on it before he blew it up! I ordered a brand new third generation Ecotec engine (came with a new turbo as well so now i have a spare) which has a better sand cast block rather than the foam loss casting of the first generation blocks, better pistons and rods and produces 270 hp stock rather than 260 hp and the block can withstand up to 500 hp and the internals up to 400 hp. He also just had installed a new clutch, brakes, struts, exhaust, tires and battery. I have never dynoed it but i would conservatively guess 350 hp. This car is so light that it goes like a rocket! Not bad for a 2 liter 4 banger. ;)

@Joseph Jove Only mods to the suspension were BC Racing Coilovers and I removed the front swaybar. To stiffen the chassis it has the DDM Backbone tunnel brace plus a 7 point roll cage. Rear end is a Ford 9in IRS conversion.
@Cali 6311 , I've been driving my car today - 700hp is wild. Doing my basic math - at 7000 rpm in 6th gear I should attain 220mph. And I was getting roughly 18mpg average between highway and in town. Not bad for a Saturn Sky.
The be frank, almost every Sol GXP is a sleeper. Everybody thinks it's a base Solstice and have no idea what the car is. 260bhp from the get-go, 290bhp and 340 lb-ft from just the mild GM factory upgrade, and easily another 20 bhp and 10 lb-ft from a mild exhaust and you get a 310 bhp, 350 lb-ft, 2980lb car. That's just a hair off he same power to weight as a 5GEN LS3 Camaro right there. With a moderate aftermarket tune, that same setup is a 340bhp car with 370 lb-ft. That's with not even touching the turbo with a wrench.
@@spetsnazrussia2446 ...what? Are you asking me how this car dompares to an ecoboost Mustang in terms of being a sleeper, in terms of tuning potential using factory components and the same car using aftermarket components, or how it compares to that Mustang in a quarter nile race, or how the two cars compare in power to weight ratios?
you cant truly call it a sleeper when it looks modified and sounds like it's been upgraded to a v8 as well.. should have left the exterior of the vehicle stock and attached a proper muffler to that vehicle then you can truly call it a sleeper. It would be no different that those drag cars you raced against call themselves sleepers since they are built on a stock vehicle frame and body too.
