absolutely loving your videos man! you could watch these while your literally rebuilding your bike and just follow everything you do step by step , i have a 22 yz250f and just got done watching your rebuild video on one, and ill defiantly be using your video if and when i need to do a top end rebuild , keep up the great work !
Thanks! Funny you say that. I had a KX450 I was doing a top end on a few months ago. It was one of them days that I wanted things to come easy. I popped in the video where I did a KX450 top end and followed it step by step. It was nice I didnt even have to think about "whats next". I got through that top end job in like half the time it normally takes lol.
Thanks a lot for this series on the rmz 450 engine! I’m gonna do a top end on my 2018 rmz450 and this will help a lot! It’s my first time doing a 4 stroke top end so I’m a bit nervous. I can’t find much online for a service manual tho which kinda sucks. Also I’ve used ur video on kyb fork service, and I was able to service my forks on my 125! So thanks for all you do! Keep it up! I can’t imagine trying to film everything I’m doing on top of the bike work.
Your welcome! Yeah this video should get you right through the top end job on the RMZ. LoL, it does get a little harder to film and work. Sometimes I have to pause and look around a little to make sure I didnt miss anything lol.
Where did you buy your top end rebuild kit from and what should I expect to spend if I need just a piston and rings or if I need a new cylinder too. Thanks for your help. Your videos are extremely helpful.
Hello. These parts where ordered from rocky. A piston kit and gaskets is usually around 200 to 300 bucks in parts. I have a video on ordering parts online, from OEM parts to aftermarket parts and can walk you through ordering these parts if you need help. Here is a link to that video ruclips.net/video/slOfGOMQshs/видео.html
I dont know why but I'm assuming they jet them stock to how that regions fuel is blended. They do try to set them up where people can buy them and run them on their areas pump fuel is no issues.
Also I have a questions do you want to be in the middle of the requirements for the valve specs so say I need to be between .008 and .009 if its .007 it’s perfect?
@@husq46 Middle is maybe best. But can go on the looser side for less valve overlap and better bottom power and on the tighter end for more valve overlap and more top end if you want
Gas motors in general need to be run richer when cold. This is what a choke does on carburetor motors. It richens the mixture. On FI motors its done in the tune.
@@ShamusMacdonald-k5o Fuel doesnt burn in a liquid form. It needs to be turned into a vapor to burn. A hot motor turns fuel into vapor easliy. A cold motor does not so more fuel needs to be run into the motor to make the same amount of vapors till the motor is warmed up.
@@UpAllNight91 when your free reving a bike just on the stand do you find once u rev it to high rpm and then go to like a quarter throttle right after because the rpm’s are so high it might sound slightly lean even though it’s just because you have motor at high rpm at low throttle ?
My sons friend has a RMZ450 and i think they are an underated bike.Great job as always!!
Thanks! For sure underrated. Good looking bikes too.

Hey man at 34.01 Does the yz 250F have that so I can check the oil flow?
Some of the older YZ250f do but some of the newer ones do not.
Do u know why I’m canada/usa Yamaha uses a 40 pilot jet and in other countries a 45?

Hey so if I can get a.010 in does it need to be adjusted
Surely if its the intake yes. If its the exhaust its surely a hair too loose too.
@@UpAllNight91 bet i figured out the problem i need a new head and exhaust cam🤦🏿.

Why do bikes run leaner when cold? And I find the longer they sit up to about a week they run really lean when cold only cold tho

@@UpAllNight91 ohhhhhh ok that makes sense if u start ur 125 with no choke does it like idle really weird for about 10 seconds
