That boardwalk was supposed to go all the way up to the other side of town but the land owners refused to give up a portion of their land so that it could happen. For some strange reason the Town decided to build the portions of the boardwalk that they could rather than just leave the project alone until it was feasable to complete the boardwalk as one long stretch. Aaaaand, this is why the Town of Bancroft is broke and never has surplus money for other projects suchas keeping the arena functional. Great videos of where I spend my Summer! Thanks! :)

@canadavey 😔 I have lived here now for 9 years and it is only recently that my hubby and I decided to walk the boardwalk. We quickly realized that it is in three parts.
The part from the bridge at Hastings St. is not too bad, because although it is a short run, it does lead to a ' beach' area on the river. However, the other two sections make no sense. It is sad. I think it could be a good attraction, considering the towns mainstay is tourism.
Well, I hope you had a good time! Cheers

Some of the land is privately owned and I believe the liability is an issue and that is the reason the boardwalk was not continued

@kimolaski6929 Thanks a lot for adding to the conversation! We spoke with one of the land owners and got a bit of clarity before we ended our exploration. Cheers!
