Your method is still the best for tumbling blocks ever, and for Hexagons as well. I first came across you when you were on simply quilts with Alex Anderson many years ago. I wish you had possession of that video teaching tumbling blocks in that episode - best ever!!
Thank you for the compliment. I know you will enjoy this method. After more than 30 years since developing this technique, I am still amazed at how fast the blocks come together. Have fun!
OMG!!! I am a total fan Marci Baker. I've yet to quilt but your tutorial vidz are awesome. Even for a greenhorn like me. I am SOOOOO glad that i found you. I envy your students. Thanks a million, Marci!!!💮
Thank you Elena for the compliment! I hope you have a chance to try the technique. If you are interested in taking it to the next level, there are variations of this pattern and other 3D techniques in my book, ABC 3D Tumbling Blocks and More. quiltwithmarcibaker.com/product/abc-3-d-tumbling-blocks-and-more Enjoy,...Marci
Marci. I don't know if you still read these comments, but I have raced over to Amazon to buy the book!! I have been making inner city the hard way. First I sew pairs--light med, med dark, dark light....cut a hexagon out of that and the inner city block appears. However this has gotten soooooo tedious and the joining of the hexagons very challenging. Hoping that your book can help me 'switch over' so that I won't waste what I have done, but also can enlarge a continuation with your method[s] . Thanks for making this video as it is long enough to really whet the appetite!
It is real easy to see the math teacher here! I have wanted to make these two quilts for years, but felt intimidated by the geometry. I think if my geometry teacher in HS would have used this application, I wouldn't have drifted off quite so much. I bought the book this morning at my quilt shop as well as fabric for my first project. Thanks for sharing. My sewing room is calling me!!
Instructions are not hard, but not having the sizes really threw me --- I know, buy the "book", but when you are trying to learn online - sizes are needed. I ruined so many strips of material trying to follow you as not having the true sizes, sorry but you spent so much time making a great video - an example of sizes would have been nice.

Thank you, Marci, for a great tutorial. Is there anywhere that we can find out how to reside these blocks. Thank you. I love your book. Diane
