Probably my favorite "guilty pleasure" Bond film alongside Moonraker and Die Another Day. I keep having to juggle between the three as the most entertaining, but it's most likely because this one came out the year I was born, Walken makes a great Bond villain, and the Duran Duran title tune is classic.

At this point Moore was just too old for the role,
And the movie is just the usual formula for bond
.thank god for Dalton he really changed the charectar

    R.I.P Tanya Roberts (1955-2021)
Not my fav of the Bond pictures tbh but the action scenes are pretty good even if it is over the top. Also felt it was the end of an era. Not just for Roger Moore but also for Lois Maxwell and Bob Simmons.

Love both their opinions, this movie didn't do it for me, but I do like Moore a lot as a Bond. He could make any bad Bond plot entertaining.
Connery, Brosnan, Craig, have never made bad scripts good (though have been fantastic with good scripts).

"I'll tell ya Gene, the last thing I'm looking for in a James Bond picture is believability. And I really liked some of the villains in previous pictures who were total creations of fantasy." - Roger Ebert, 1981 (For Your Eyes Only review)
"There lot of protagonist stunts in this movie, you also see Grace Jones, or her double, parachute off the Eiffel Tower. We see Bond penetrate the inner of the San Andreas fault....there's a lot of action, but it doesn't add up to much, the film hasn't really taken the time to get us interested in Christopher Walken's bizarre scheme, let alone make him believable." - Roger Ebert, 1985 (A View To A Kill review)

I love Roger but I wish I could have a conversation with him about several movies.

I saw this in the theater, and I STILL want my money back. The script is lousy, Roger Moore was WAY too old, and Tanya Roberts' acting was HORRENDOUS. The worst James Bond movie, EVER! I refuse to ever watch this one again, along with "The World is Not Enough". Good theme song, anyway.

I'm not even a big Roger Moore fan but I really liked this film. Maybe he's grown on me. I really liked the score, Grace Jones as the henchwoman, Christopher Walken as the villain and the thrilling climax. Somewhat surprised by the poor reviews this films gotten. More watchable than Die Another Day for example

I grew up with James Bond and as far as I'm concerned Sean Connery Timothy Dalton and Pierce brosnan were the best James bonds! Roger Moore movies got more cartoonish each movie !

I normally like Siskel and Ebert. But they are wrong about Roger Moore. He was a great bond. As to Moore's bond not being serious. There have been plenty of moments where Moore's Bond was serious and in danger. Its a shame these two critics can't appreciate Roger Moore's Bond. Not Roger Moore cared what Siskel and Ebert think, all his movies were big hits at the box office. He was laughing all the way to the bank. How much is siskel and ebert being paid to be armchair movie critics without doing any of the very hard work that film makers all the actors, film crew etc do to make a movie like the Bond movies. I disagree with these two I liked Roger Moore as Bond. All Roger Moore's movies were iconic and the best of the canon.

They were Connery fanboys. Obviously he was iconic, but giving Never Say Never Again such a high rating was bemusing.

A View to a Kill is a weak Bond movie. Not one of the best ones.

It's not the best Bond film. It does have two great villain's Christopher Walken and Grace Jones. The action sequences are great. Loved the title song by Duran Duran. It was a top 40 hit song on the pop chart's. I also enjoyed there music video for this film. Tanya Roberts was a strong and tough Bond girl.(RIP Tanya Roberts) Dolph Lundgen has a small role here as a Russian agent. All and all it has some good things about the film. But the story was weak and villain's should have better scene and dialogue.

This was the first Bond movie I ever watched, so I have a bit of a soft spot for it. I think it still holds up well for the most part, though it’s hard to watch it and not think of how old Roger Moore was and looked at that point.
