    Excellently put together video thanks. The engineering put into the door trims is simple but you have to get into the mind of the designer to avoid damage and you certainly help in this regard.

    I think on my Ibiza one of those green clips is missing,one on the bottom. Once I was changing electronic lock on right back door and probably man in Skoda service where I went to change the lock didn't put it properly back or even it has nothing now in that place...but it is not making any sound. Now you gave me an idea how to check this in the summer but first need to find where to buy those green clips...video is great,very good to know 👏👏👏 dr for Fabia 👍

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 года назад

      All I can say about the clips is, don't get the cheap ones as they aren't as good and break easier.

    7:50 It definitely was! Because there is a silicone seal on that silver metal part (sorry, I dont know the name in English). There is a water leak in every single Fabia haha. This video will be used 99% by people who need to reseal it haha. Did mine last summer.

    • @HatBoyHarvey

      Yes, but only half right as I didn't need to take the whole panel off from the top to fix the water leak :-)

    Very nice. I have a problem with that exact door deadlocked with no possibility of opening. Most tutorials on RUclips rely on the lock eventually working once the inner regulator assembly is removed to open the door and replace the lock, but that doesn't seem to be my case, it simply won't budge and apparently there's no way to remove the lock in situ. Would be nice to have your insight on how to actually open the door assuming the lock motor is burnt out.

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 года назад +1

      Thanks. Have you tried banging the handle on the outside hardish a number of times. This can work to detach the short cable back in to enable the lock to open. Once open don't close it until you have fixed the issue. WD squirted around the handle also will help. Bummer of a problem, I know. Have a look at: ruclips.net/video/suB-n30YJHg/видео.html Let me know if this helps and you finally get it open :-)

    • @JuanSe2691
      @JuanSe2691 3 года назад

      @@HatBoyHarvey sadly, no amount of banging on the door helped. The servo motor seems to be the culprit, but then it would be possible to open the door manually, which cannot be done as well. It's dreadful because being a later car, the inner regulator assembly is held by rivets. I've taken the car to a local locksmith who couldn't open the door. Only solution according to him is to order a new lock and basically destroy the old one. Since I don't want to subject the car to that sort of percussive maintenance yet, I'm still locked out.

    Thanks for these amazing videos bro they helped me a lot. I have a question for you I really appreciate if you share your ideas. I have a Skoda Fabia MK1 01, when I try to open tailgate when the car is locked, all door locks are unlocks and locks immediately. What could be the problem?

    • @HatBoyHarvey

      Probably the microswitch in the drivers door lock.

    any idea on if i can put an aftermarket central locking system in it, mine doesn’t have one and I’m wondering if there is enough space to put the motor in for it

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  Год назад

      You could get the central locking control module, wiring looks and wire that in along with motorised locks then adapt the CCU to accept it. You would need detailed wiring diagrams for both cars.

      El módulo de cierre centralizado está ubicado debajo del espacio para los pies del lado del conductor, cerca de la unidad HVAC en los automóviles con volante a la derecha. Se puede comprarlo en un desguace :-)

    Its not on the theme but iv got a question. I have the same car as you. And it runs great. Till I stopped to refuel and after that it started cranking before its starts. It did never before that. I'd go to Skoda service but im stuck in another country. Any advice

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 года назад

      Could be a number of things, failing battery/weak fuel pump/fuel pipe leak/fuel filter/blocked EGR and flapper/glow plugs and wiring/vacuum leak/change of fuel (winter/summer). I would try and have the car check for faults when it is doing it if you can.

    Thanks for another great video, man! I also have a question about my 2003 Fabia.
    If the cabin light switch doesn't work very well (the light only turns on if I have a door open and the switch in a very specific position, kind of jammed a bit), do I have to replace the whole piece or just the switch? Also if you know the part numbers by any chance.
    Thank you!

    just wanted some advice Mr Hatboy, i removed a uk car drivers front door card today off a skoda superb estate 2010 elegance model as i wanted to add some sound proofing, i was quite suprised to see there was no "plastic see thru membrane" , usually held on with that black tar glue stuff, just wondered if you`ve ever removed a mk2 superb drivers front door card and if so, was the plastic membrane in situ or do they not come with that anymore ?

    • @HatBoyHarvey
      @HatBoyHarvey  3 года назад

      I haven't done that yet, but, good question, i remember they used to put those on earlier cars to stop water ingress. May be they believe the issue has been fixed, but I have seen many cars with this problem and the fabia MK1 is only the first one :(
