This song reminds me of my younger days and you had that special someone you could share your true feelings to and you felt good about it. This song takes me back to the 5th grade, when I met a girl named Connie. She was very pretty, upfront, and bold. She approached me about me being her boyfriend. This was back in the late 70’s, with Afros, platform shoes and fly-away collar shirts,etc. Man! I remember this time, like it was yesterday. What memories!

This song reminds me of my girlfriend in the 5th grade named Connie. She was a very pretty and beautiful girl, with long, brown hair and she was tall for her age. And she was beginning to fill out in the right places, if you know what I mean. She seemed to be a bold person, and knew what she wanted to do, when she grew up. She used to comment on my Afro, saying 10:12 my hair was straight, not coarse, like the average black person’s Afro. I was surprised at the comment, because I didn’t think she would know about black people’s hair, being a white girl. I wonder often what she’s doing now. If she’s married, that person is a very lucky man, because, if she’s the same person, she is a good woman. I just wished that things would have been different,because if it had been, we would probably be married with grown children and grandchildren by now. And people would have misgivings about our relationship, because it would be an interracial relationship, but I wouldn’t care, because I had true feelings for her,at the time, because of her being bold enough to ask me to be her boyfriend, during this time. It was the late 70’s and interracial relationships in the South,even though seemed ok on the surface, was still pretty much taboo, back then. And if a person was in an interracial relationship, it had to be discreet and low- key, if you 18:46 know what I mean. But I was a rebel then, and I am a rebel now. I didn’t follow the crowd then, and I don’t now. I’ve always done my own thing. So, Connie, if you’re still out there, you still hold a 18:46 special place in 18:46 forever.18:46 y heart
