  • In this video I quickly demonstrate how to replace the rubber diaphragm on a CV carburetor slider. Don't forget to let them dry before installing them!

Brilliant Ross, I was struggling as it doesn't tell you how in the Haynes manual. I'm no confident thank you.
    Good luck😊

Great tutorial Ross. I now feel confident to take a go at the membrane of my Kawasaki ZRX

Hey Ross, question about the other video since you've got comments turned off on that one. Did the float bowls come with the drain screws? I didn't see them in your video and you didn't say. I'd assume they do, just checking.

This is totally crap! The diaphragms will NOT be sealed and will not be airtight which they have to be to function. Please do NOT follow this wrong advice.

I can only speak for my experience with my bike, but it has been running great for 4 years since I used this method to replace 3 of the 4 diaphragms.

Been repairing these for many years with no problem.

So how do you do it then

I think by the very nature of your comment it’s clear you tried and failed, but perhaps you botched it and did a poor job. Repairing diaphragms is a common fix instead of replacing.

Clearly you are an all thumbs kinda guy. Just because YOU failed to follow properly, MANY of us do this to our bikes with ZERO PROBLEMS. Might wanna check your attitude at the door when you stumble across something and ask for assistance instead of condemnation. YOU Sir are the type of person others avoid at all costs.

Ross, how did you know that those needed to be replaced?

Differences in the metal slides from wear, clearly visible.
