OSU path: Lose to #3 Oregon in mid-Oct. At that point, you know you can lose another game and have a guaranteed playoff spot. AND, if you make a conf title game, you can lose that too and will still have a spot. Or win it and get a bye. ND path: You beat #20 A&M but lose to NIU on 9/7. Your only path now is to win 14 in a row. You will play 8 ranked teams, including 4 top 10s to finish it off in the playoff. More than 40% of your starters are out injured for the season. You have less than 1/2 the NIL money of OSU. They have fourteen 5-star players (about as many as the rest of the B1G combined) and you have 1. Saying that OSU has the hardest path ever is ridiculous. ND is playing them in 5 days and their path was way harder. There is no coach in America that would take ND’s cards on 9/7 over OSU’s cards in 10/12. Except maybe Marcus Freeman.
This is a new era. No denying their ability. But when you can openly pay to win (I know everyone can do this but not at the rate schools like OSU can) it shouldn’t be compared to BCS champs and 4 team playoffs. Don’t forget, the only reason they have a chance to win is because they expanded the playoffs in the first place…
@LarryMcDonald-wg2ty You forgot to mention those teams didn't lose to Michigan at home and still got a home game in the playoffs because of the seeding.
As a buckeye It's not that I wanted to see them go through the gauntlet to punish them because they lost but I did want it for redemption. Tennessee was just first draw, payback for Oregon for beating us in regular season, Texas and Tennessee just to shut the mouths of SEC fans. And I would have loved to see Georgia in the natty so the buckeyes could get some payback for the game we should have won 2 years ago and took that chance at another natty. But looking forward to facing Notre Dame and taking it home this year. Just gotta keep the foot on the gas petal
Outside of themselves, if/when Ohio State wins Monday, Ohio State has beaten all but 1 team (UGA) in the top 8 since November 2nd. The Michigan game won’t feel so large when old boy has a ring on his finger, and 2024 in Scarlett in between b and c deck.
They've allowed 0 first quarter points in the COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF after 3 games😂... Oregon and Texas both spent more on their teams than OSU, both were ranked #1 at one point... Texas only even had a chance because OSU played arguably their second worst game of the season, 9 penalties for 75yds. If they beat Dame that's 3 of the best defenses in cfb with 2 of them being the top 2 SEC defenses. If they win it all you literally couldn't point to another team and say "they got cheated, if they were in they would've beat OSU" there will be not one way to discredit this ring
Let everybody talk about our roster we’re not the only teams that spent 20+ $1 million. The only difference is we actually go to the national championship?❤

Parity is here and while I don't think they are the best ever, I do think they are the last of an era. This Ohio state team was the last to have as much depth with as much talent as they have. If they win, they are very deserving, but the argument for being one of the best teams ever disappeared when they lost regular season games. PS - Clearly Oregon was rusty btw. I still take Ohio state in that game, but they aren't THAT much better than Oregon.

And they beat TX in their own back yard. You can practically say the same thing about playing Oregon on the west coast in the Rose Bowl. Look. Haters will hate. So who cares what they think and say. NIL is now a reality. Don't blame Ohio State for working the NIL aspect of the game. Nine or ten of their playoff starters on each side of the ball were with Ohio State last year. So it's not like they pulled a Colorado last year or Indiana and Texas this year in remaking their teams. Yes, NIL helped them land Downs on D. And, it helped them land Judkins and Howard from the portal. Remember, the Alabama center has been injured during the playoffs and Smith was likely coming as a Freshman to Ohio State anyway to learn from the best, Hartline. And, Howard wasn't really on too many radars. So pointing at NIL is just nonsense and/or envy.
I made a post on my Facebook last night. It dawned on me that if OSU beats ND, we would have beaten the top 8 teams in the final rankings (not seeding) except GA this season. 🤯🤯🤯 #LeaveNoDoubt
Nic. Easy buddy. Starting to act like a crazed OSU fan. I hope you realize that game was pointless for Ohio State and it meant everything to Michigan. Go Rockets
Yes it is and if you say otherwise you are just a hater. Very close loss to Oregon during the regular season. Beat Indiana and Penn State 2 top ten teams at the time. Fluke loss to Michigan their rival to set up the hardest path in the playoffs. Beat 3 top ten teams in a row. Not just any top 3 teams but 3 of the absolute best top 10 teams. And if they win the Natty it will be 4 top ten wins in a row. Absolutely the hardest path and greatest national championship win ever. Even if they lose against Norte Dame. To beat 4 legit top ten teams in a row is very very hard.
You put SEC champion in the losers bracket? Why, because they lost 2 games like OSU? You put PSU in a losers bracket bracket because they finished ahead of OSU in the B1G? ND’s path is WAY harder than OSU’s it isn’t close. Win 14 in a row or you are out. OSU lost to Oregon. Then they knew they could lose another one. AND they knew they could lose a CC game if they made it. And they would be automatically in. This whole “toughest oath ever” is so silly. The team they are playing next week had it much tougher.

thats unrelated to what this video is even talking about. ohio state had the hardest path to a championship in the playoffs in history (until someone does it probably next year, god bless the 12 team playoff)
To me, the 2 loss narrative is the worse because there were only 5 teams with 1 loss or less after conference championships. So therefore, do we only put 5 teams in a 12 team playoff? Makes no sense lol and there were only 8 teams with 1 loss or less before conference championships. If any of the other 2 loss teams in the playoff when it started (Georgia, Texas, Penn State, Tennessee, SMU,ASU) were in our spot, there would be no 2 loss discussion. Ohio vs the world🦌👀🏈🏟️🏆

You’re right, no other team could spend 20 million on a roster just to fucking lose to Michigan. Exactly what will be the excuses if they lose to Notre dame?
I think the only possible consideration to have made this question irrelevant is if OSU had UGA in the finals. If they had beaten UGA with a healthy qb nobody would have an argument. If they are fortunate enough to handle ND the team won’t get the credit they deserve in my opinion. I think taking down 3 sec teams and slaying the giant that is UGA would be the only way they would get the credit due to them.
I understand that and if OSU beats them handily everyone from certain areas of the country will say well you didn’t beat the best team in our conference because our qb was hurt. Just saying.
If Ohio State wins this natty. It will be the hardest most legitimate national championship ever. In college football. Nothing like those Michigan guys. That one’s tainted 😂

This is a joke right??? I think you just convinced me, I’m over this sport, it’s just gotten stupid
You realize that every other major team sport at pretty much every other level has an actual tournament that usually ends with a team winning it all that lost during the season. No one ever says the winner of the Super bowl didn't earn the title and there has only been one undefeated champ ever. This is a terrible take.
I totally agree they have had the hardest path in this playoffs by far. Penn State path was mediocre at best . Also this playoffs has been a joke up until this last round. SMU and Indiana had no business being in the playoff. And obviously Boise State for that matter. I actually want the Ohio state to win my family cheers for them I just contest that they have the hardest path ever or have the best team ever.
Best national Championship was last year. An undefeated season- 15-0 won the conference, beat Bama in the Rose Bowl, beat #1 Washington. Happy for OSU, but honestly. Michigan’s Natty was more challenging. If OSU wins the Natty (they still have to beat the Irish), they still lost in regular season play, didn’t win the conference. Look, they have a good team, but best ever championship?
no, beating washington does not make it the greatest national championship LMAO, 2019 lsu would like to have a word, they didnt have to play WASHINGTON

We should defer to their greatest coach of all-time: “That’s the most important one, because if you don’t win that one, you can’t claim to be the national champion.” -Woody Hayes, speaking about beating Michigan. We should honor their own rules guys. It’s a respect thing….

What year did he say this? If he did I'll bet the BCS wasn't even a thing yet. Michigan fans used to be better than this. Let the Buckeyes fans be the crazy ones.
Here’s my take on the Michigan game. Most of these players grew up in areas not even close to the Midwest. The rivalry is not anywhere near at heated as in the time of woody. They came in sleeping thru that game and Michigan came in ready to play. Not an excuse but line em up right now and it would be a blow out. They looked past that game thinking it would be handed to them and they would have their rematch with the ducks. But Michigan came in with something to prove. Unfortunately for Michigan Ohio state is going to be the champs. If the Steelers lost to the browns and then went on to win the Super Bowl would browns fans claim they were better then the Steelers. This run, this CFP playoffs is the last chance this Buckeye class has to win anything significant. They are fighting their tails off to leave a legacy. As a player, Jack Sawyer made himself a legend on Friday. But as a team they need to finish it off and beat ND come Monday.
4:20 very true. After we lost to Michigan I said if Day doesn’t win the national championship or at least get us there he will most likely get fired. I’m sure he never wanted that, I think he can be a great coach so I never wanted that. He’s fighting for his job, getting threats from psychotic buckeye fans. Probably hasn’t gotten a peaceful night of sleep in years. Next Monday might be that first night he does.
They beat Tennessee, Oregon, and Texas to do it. Of course it is.
They backed into a 12 team playoff
@ They lost 2 games by a combined 4 points and beat the number 1 ranked team in the country, the second ranked SEC team, and had the most difficult first-round opponent in Tennessee.
@@nicholastaiariol2631 they didn't back into anything. Everyone knew before the season that this would be a 12 team playoff and it allowed more teams to have a shot at winning it all. Sounds like a lot of coping coming from you
@@Zonny548 sounds like they expanded the playoffs so OSU could finally make it
@@nicholastaiariol2631 "so they could finally make it" LMAO. Google is free my man... The Buckeyes have participated in the College Football Playoff six times, ranking Ohio State third in overall appearances, following the Alabama Crimson Tide with eight and the Clemson Tigers with seven.
We just beat a more expensive roster so I don’t even wanna hear about the cost of ours.
Best 4th place conference team ever.

If it weren't for that damn missed field goal.
Ohio State won the first inaugural CFP in 2014, no we finna win the first 12 team CFP.
#BuckeyeNation
First to win the first playoffs debut
First to win the first 12 team playoff debut
OSU did it first and the last!
In before the horrible 8-5 team comes in and talks about their lucky national championship game against Ohio State. Its gotta hurt watching us win this natty.
Umm no. They had two losses, didn’t win the Big Ten Title, and lost their biggest rival. There were better OSU teams in the past.
Playoff game was during winter break wasn't it.
If OSU win, without question.
I still take Ohio state in that game, but they aren't THAT much better than Oregon.
lol rent free in Michigans head there flocking to this video… they should be worried that they’ve developed 1 QB in 40 years and now they just expect Bryce not to be ruined too wait till he finds out he has no receiver talent, and is gonna have to hand the ball off 40 times a game lmao
Still beat you clowns with no quarterback
Michigan lives to have attention from Ohio State fans wherever there’s Ohio state post you will find a troll Michigan person begging for scraps of attention without Ohio State deer literally nothing
And a loss to unranked Michigan
Nic.
No just no is all that needs to be said lol
Disprove his point. The word no is not a proper rebuttal.
Enough of the 20 million smh that wasn’t even as much as Oregon or Texas lol
You put SEC champion in the losers bracket? Why, because they lost 2 games like OSU? You put PSU in a losers bracket bracket because they finished ahead of OSU in the B1G? ND’s path is WAY harder than OSU’s it isn’t close. Win 14 in a row or you are out. OSU lost to Oregon. Then they knew they could lose another one. AND they knew they could lose a CC game if they made it. And they would be automatically in. This whole “toughest oath ever” is so silly. The team they are playing next week had it much tougher.
Least legit. Regular season results have to matter.
@nicholastaiariol2631 IT"S NOT FAKE> THIS IS FACTS. FINAL RANKINGS!!! It's obvious you're not an OSU fan but at least acknowledge this is the most difficult schedule & run ever! Ohio St if the beat ND Monday they will have beaten EVERYONE, but Georgia and they would have beat them.

Those teams are equally rated as far as talent year in and year out with recruiting, and youre saying they do any better?
@@Zskillit no osu has a better roster year in and year out than all 3 of those teams and hasn’t won a title in 10 years, osu hasn’t won anything relevant in a long time yet almost always has the best 1-3 roster in the sport. That is why winning this year was claimed as natty or bust.
How come you guys never bring up Texas or Oregon how much they spent on nil which they both spent way more than Ohio State so why don't you ever mention them Texas spent over 23 million organs around there or Ohio state's 20 million and second Ohio state had to pay their players from the current team most of that money they only had seven transfers and so why you always got to make a point about the 20 million maybe because I have a lot of talent on there and they got to pay them real money and they're not the only ones so it's like you guys are trying to stay with one reason why they beat these changes cuz they spent 20 million dollars if you take the seven players they got on their portal last year out of equation they would have had to pay about 17 million for their current team so get right so get right

Best national Championship was last year. An undefeated season- 15-0 won the conference, beat Bama in the Rose Bowl, beat #1 Washington. Happy for OSU, but honestly.
